Song 161

161 The question that should not be asked
If asked not knowing, then we can give the answer
But if asked knowing the answer, who can respond
If the person knowing the answer asks as if she does not know
We should escape as if we don’t know the answer
“Why this much friction in relationship
And unnecessary conflict in life”
Questions like these too are
Wasteful ones, what else can we say
Don’t we know when we rub (should to shoulder)
That friction will come in relationship
There is no relationship which does not rub (causing friction)
And there is no life without conflict
We cannot rub without causing some kind of depreciation (damage?)
And we cannot live without having any friction
But we should stop rubbing before it starts heating
And before it breaks, we should close the crack
There is none who does not know this
Yet not able to stop the friction.
How much we join the broken pieces
It won’t be useful anymore—we know this too
Yet there is none who has overcome this
And this is the reality in everybody’s life
Once we stop asking (such) questions
We will get the answer (result) immediately (on our hand)
6-5-16, Bengaluru, 10.30 am.
As one person talked about the way we put people in the box and then judge them accordingly, I said that we who put others in any box alone are not responsible for this. As every human relationship is reciprocal, we need to include others’ contributions in our judgment about them. In general, we often ‘react’ than soberly ‘responding’ to others and that is the reason for this kind of judgemental attitude. But as I was again thinking on this subject, I said to myself, ‘even asking such questions and analysing them is foolish one. Because even before asking any such questions, particularly related to “INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP” we know the answer. So, the best scenario is never asking such a question as we know the answer. And even if such questions are asked, the better response is not to give any kind of answer.’ In a Tamil film called Thiruvilayadal, in a dialogue between Shiva and the poet Tharumi, the latter has to ask questions and Siva has to give answers to them. So when Tharumi asks, ‘What should not be asked’, in response Siva says: ‘meaningless question and answer to them’.

162 Get trapped
In this rolling life
Which goes with high speed?
Stepping one on the other
All are rushing in this world
None has time
To look back
There is no space
For them to move forward
They push each other
And rush forward
Finally, none has
Reached the goal
Those who are trapped in between
Fell down crushed by them
None has the heart
To help them to getup
Those who come along
Went slipping away
And they cannot find
Those who were lost
In this made crowd
None can identify
Who is who?
And one cannot recognize the other
In that crowd
The way is too not clear
And to escape from it
The door is not visible
As others pushed from the back
Though somehow escaped and come out
Crushed by all sides
Identity is also lost
As Identity is lost
Again, searching one self
As they went back to that crowd
Get trapped again in it
This race won’t stop
Crowd too won’t disappear
Only few wise people
Managed to escape from it
I am one among them
That’s why I tell you
Before you enter in to that crowd
Better you think a little
8-5-16, Bengaluru, 11.00 pm.
Since I came (on 5th May 2016) to stay in Bengaluru to have quiet time, I observed that the family with which I was staying was also too busy with so much work. The host even said that though he wants to spend time with me to talk, due to work pressure he cannot give time. However, I made it clear to him that I came here not to talk, but in fact not to talk much with anyone—including me (of course as usual I failed in it). So I assured him that though I feel sorry for the way he has to work too much, I am happy that I can have my own time to do my things.
And tonight I reflected on the present life of so many people (particularly in the IT field)—most of them get trapped in their own making. But once they are caught in their own crowd they not only can escape but also lost in it and losing their identity. But the tragedy in it is that once they lose their identity, again they go back to the same crowd to search for themselves as they cannot recognize them when they come out crushed and pushed by the crowd. When I shared this poem with my host on 9th morning, again he began to explain his situation. Then I said, ‘this is not only the story of him. But there are so many like him. But fortunately, I escaped from that crowd. So I am dedicating this to them
Though I wrote this on May 8th, now I dedicate this song to the co-passengers of Swati who was killed on 24th in Nungambakkam at Chennai. My mother was lamenting for so many days that there was not a single person who rushed to help her or one “MAN” to chase the person who killed her? Recently Chennai got the Best Indian Award in one TV channel (NDTV or CINIBN). Those who received the award for the ‘good work of Chennai’ during the flood in 2015, dedicated that Award to the whole Chennai and all GLORIFIED how Chennai, unlike other metropolitans like Mumbai and Delhi will rush to help the people who need it. But so many people waited for the same train in which Swati had to board and many more commuted on both sides of the platform. Some of her co-passengers might be her own colleague who might be waiting to catch the same train. But in an inhuman way they all ignored and RUSHED TO MIND THEIR OWN WORK. And to them I dedicate this song.
(The good news is that the person who killed her was arrested last night)
The next song (163) also can go along with this song as it is on the same incident.
Song 163

163 Continuing story
Nobody understands about themselves
And none can understand others too
But they came to give advice
To the entire world O Wise Woman—Tandannaana taane….
“We live only for others
And we toil only for others welfare”
All told like this
But what is that “welfare” O Wise Woman? —Tandannaana taane….
Neither they are happy
Nor others have peace
Complaining one against the other
(They have this) unceasing struggle O Wise Woman—Tandannaana taane….
From the distance they have love
When come close struggle begins
When vessels are kept next to each other
They continue to rub O Wise Woman—Tandannaana taane….
This struggle will never come to an end
Whoever tells, they won’t accept it
In any way is it not new one
This struggle is there from the beginning O Wise Woman—Tandannaana taane….
Bengaluru, 9-5-16, 7.30 am.
As I began to read another book on Siddhas, I thought how they would have responded to the present scenario in human life. Of course, this is not new one and the same old story continues. So, stepping in the shoes of the Siddhas (though I am not one among them), I wrote this poem presenting the continuing story in human life, in Siddha poetic style of addressing this to a woman. (It is interesting to note that many Siddhas poems are addressed to women, though most of them were men).
Song 164
164 Short separations
Wherever we go
Our shadow will follow us
Where else to run
Leaving it?
Will our mind change?
Simply changing the place
Without the change of heart
Can we get peace?
Familiarity
Breeds contempt
Familiarity creates
Frustration
We will know the(ir) value
Only in short separation
After re-union
That too will disappear
But there is no
Alternative for this
How much we try
There is no remedy for this
There is none
Who won after several trials
Running away (from responsibility)
Won’t give peace of mind
Relationship will remain
Like salt in food
If it becomes excess
It will irritate
Food without salt
Will go to dust bin
Like this
Relationship will remain to us
Like a saltless
Diet for treatment
Short separation is
Important for us too
Once treatment
Period ends
We should return back
To the normal life
Though this truth
Applicable to others neatly
When it comes to us
It hits us terribly
Yet none
Is born
To overcome

Bengaluru, 9-5-16 9.00 pm.
I enjoyed my stay for a week at Bengaluru house without much disturbance. I had the best place to go for a long walk. Tomorrow, I have to go back to Mathigiri and my routine life will begin. I am not disturbed that I have to go back and serve my mother. As I accepted that responsibility I do it joyfully—though I cannot always rejoice in it. But my only disturbance is to go back to a noisy place. Though my song talks more about the need for temporary separation in relationships, my disturbance is more about the place than about the people.
Song 165
165 Listen what I say
Many things are there beyond our control
There is a life without us on this earth
We should do what we can do
When things go beyond our control, we should keep quiet
Can I accomplish everything?
Will all accept my words?
Will everyone will do things only as per my advice
Why this much frustration? Won’t you keep quiet?
How many things went well as others refuse to listen to us?
How many good things happened because of it?
Thinking only those good things
And keep quiet.
If you poke your nose unnecessarily
You need energy to be pounded
If you keep away not interfering
You will be constantly blamed
Our life too became
Like the ant caught between two side fire
If you go one side you will get burnt
And if you go the other side, you will be get killed
We should go and wait where it will be safe
And learn to tolerate the heat
Whichever side the fire gets reduced
You should try to escape from that side
This is the lesson that I learnt out of experience
Therefore, listen me what I say
But who will listen to others advice
Each one will learn only through their trial.
Bengaluru, 11-5-16, 9.30 pm.
From the morning there was no signal in my BSNL (which also means ‘Bay sib nail lagged’). My brother left in the morning. As my host left with him for their work, I cannot use their phone either. I cannot connect with my Whatsapp number with my neighbours at Mathigiri. As my host went to a marriage he will come only after 10.00 pm. From 8.30 am I tried my best to contact one of my neighbours at Mathigiri to know about my mother. I cannot even concentrate on the book which I was reading. Then I said to myself, ‘there are so many things happening on which we have no control. So once we tried our best we should keep quiet rather than become agitated. That time I wrote this song.
Interestingly, after I wrote this song, finally I got the signal and managed to call my neighbour at 9.30 pm.
