Secular Song 311

Secular Song 311 Keep away or get rejected?
Before others reject you
Better keep away from them
Don’t become an unnecessary burden
Don’t become an overload
Because others sought you
In their need,
Don’t think that
Till the end they will carry you
During the fruiting season
The birds naturally come to the tree
When the season comes to an end
They will migrate somewhere
There is no point in
Finding fault in this course of this natural event
There won’t be any burden if we think that
I have done something at my best
Whey your need is accomplished
You too threw away many people
When now your time has come
What is the use of lamenting?
When you seek the opportunity
To serve those who are in need
There is no need to keep away
There won’t be anyone to reject you
Mathigiri, 28-5-17, 12.15 am.
Feeling rejected is part of the old age scenario. Particularly those who lived with so many people and contributed a lot in others life, feel suddenly left out and rejected once they become old. Others may keep away not ignoring them, but not to trouble them anymore. But old people still consider it as rejection. However, seeking the opportunity to help those in need is one way to overcome such old age syndrome. For me, when others ignore me, I am very happy as I can live in my own world—a world of recluse. Though a bit exaggerating, I never felt rejected by others, as I never sought any kind of recognition. Left alone I am the happiest person on earth.
Secular Song 312

Secular Song 312 Should not be confused
I too have the same
What all others have
What shall I ask?
Separately for me
Life remains common
To all
How can I manage?
To live differently
Thinking that
I am doing something new
I do many things
Without proper understanding
When others
Question about it
I respond to them that
‘You won’t understand’!
Though after thinking clearly
I write it down (to communicate)
Yet I find that
It is not so clear
Therefore hereafter
Not scribbling something
I should not confuse others
And also get confused myself
Mathigiri, 29-5-17, 8.45 am.
As a single person with an aptitude for a life of recluse I always imagine too much that my life is and should be different from others. Whereas I too have all kinds of issues which others face in their life. As I was reflecting about it this morning while I was taking a bath, the first line of this song came as inspiration. So, after bath and other work, I wrote this song, that whatever I imagine about me I am in no way different from others.
Secular Song 313

Secular Song 313 Ear and talk
What is the use of shouting?
When the words are not falling in the ear?
What is the use of proclaiming?
When nobody pays attention?
When one is not listening
What is the use of talking?
When the words are not accepted
What is the worth of any words (uttered?)
The worth of words is
Only in listening
Once refused to listen
What is the use of telling?
When one shares
It is the responsibility of the others to listen
When they try to avoid it
What is the use of even in sharing?
What is the use of blowing the conch-shell?
To a deaf person
Only our throat will become dry
And the pressure will increase
Understanding this
And try to remaining quiet
At least your lips won’t be damaged
And your words also could be saved
Mathigiri, 29-5-17, 11.00 pm.
This song is based on the following statement:
Splett: …the ear belongs to the act of speaking….the proper place of the word is not in the mouth but in the ear. Of course, at first one speaks; but if the word falls on the ground for nothing, it is an attempted word and not one that succeeded.— The Christian Pascha – Event and Memory: On the Theology of the Eucharistic Sacrifice.

Secular Song 314 A castle on sand
I constructed a thousand
Castle on the sand
I raised the outer wall
With also with sand
I erected the four entrances
With reeds
And sit on the throne
Inside it
Those around me
Flattering me
I thought that
All of them are real
In small drizzle
The Castle dissolved
A small wind
Broke the doors
Those stood around me
Disappearing suddenly
Stumbled from my throne
I fell on the sand
Not having my own mind
Unable to think on my own
I remain like a child
Of free for all
Once the castle fell
On the sand
I realized the truth
And my mind get cleared
Life is not
Like the sand castle
Which children construct
While they play on sand
There is no point
Of lamenting which is gone?
And there is no use
In constructing castle on sand
But learning the
Truth that you learned from this
Try to live
A sober life
Mathigiri, 3-6-2017 10.15
I am a visionary and imagine so many things about life—yes even as a sannyasi that too longing for a life of recluse, I too have my own imagination about that kind of life. And all that I construct about everyday life as well as the future is a sand house, which children construct while playing on the sand that too on a beach. A small wave will wash it. But in real life it was fun for the children to see that their sand house is washed in waves and sometimes they construct it expecting the wave to reach and wash it. But in real life, it is not easy. However, accepting life as it comes and trying to live soberly is the only way to cope with the reality in life.
Secular Song 315

Secular Song 315 I am babbling
When everything is wrong
How to seek forgiveness by confessing which one?
Birth is wrong and growing too is wrong
And living as a fool is worst of them all
I don’t find any use through my enquiries and learning
And nothing came useful I understood that
I forgot what my parents and relatives told
And there is no use in living on this earth
Somehow the life came to an end
And now I reached almost near to the goal
What is the use of now thinking about them all?
And what is the reason for sharing this?
Not doing the same mistakes that I have done
When others advice listening with much patience
And observing those who lead a good life
And living useful to the home and nation
Others to remember once we have gone
And never thought that it is better that we have gone
And never live like a fool like me
I am babbling so that others can at least live properly
Bengaluru, 5-6-2017, 11.20 am.
As I was reflecting about so many mistakes that I have made in life, I thought for which one I should regret or seek forgiveness, as my entire life has become a failure. As inspiration flow wrote this song requesting others not to do what I have done and learning the lesson how not to live like me.
