Secular Song 366 to 370

Secular Song 366

Secular Song 366 Pathetic men

The pitiable condition of man is not good

This should be realized for sure

Those who talks about women’s liberation

Should understand the condition of man also

He born to toil

And become weak by toiling too much

As he born only to carry

By carrying always, he becomes worn out

Though he puts mask outside (the home)

And brags too much about himself

Once he returned back to home

He will become like a snake in a box

If he weeps, he will become coward

And if he becomes rude, he will be called as rowdy

If laughs, others will become upset

And when he suffers they will laugh

In childhood he remains a slave to his mother

After marriage becomes slave to his wife

Once he got children and grandchildren

He becomes to slave to old age

For each time of meal

Looking at the hand of a woman

Till the end stretching his hands

A man lives as a poor creature

He does not know good or bad

He cannot get any kind of ornaments

He won’t have much cash on his hand

And there is no way for getting proper food

If one has to take birth, then should born as a woman

There is no use taking birth as a man

Once the women understand this

They will have pity on man

Mathigiri, 31-8-2017, 10.30 pm.

.

When I posted my comments on Brahmaputra, naturally I was expecting a comment, particularly from one woman.  So from the morning I was thinking what should be my humorous response to her.  And the first line of this song was echoing in my mind throughout the day.  As she didn’t disappoint in this area (of pulling the leg of men), when she wrote ‘Men are not pavam’ (men never deserve to be pitied), then as the first line again triggered I wrote this song with a spirit of humor.  So you should take this song only with the same spirit.  Hope other men will share this with their friends and relatives to console every man. Otherwise they will continue to suffer as men.

Part Two

The following is my comment on Brahmaputra:

[31/08/2017] Swamiji: Now I know why Brahmaputra is also called the RIVER OF SORROW….because….  because because  that is the only male river in India.  And its origin is also in China.  Naturally it remains always over flooded as the tears of all the men from these two over populated countries in the world flows only in it.  Whereas the joyful tears of women are distributed regionally in all the other rivers

Response from a woman:  Men are not pavam swamiji

This is from another woman: On the same humorous note, Swamiji is the poem about being silent as a man?

My response: Men are very talkative–but inside the bath room and outside the house.  They are like Split A.C. which makes a lot of noise outside the house but remains silent inside.
Comments:   good one Swamiji

My response: All the credit goes to my mother, as she helps me to remain silent.  You know a famous joke about it?

This is that joke: A: He seems to be very talkative.
B: yes–it is pure heredity.  His grandfather was a lawyer; his father is a politician, he is a lecture and his MOTHER IS A WOMAN
Comments:  behind every silent man is a “pavan” [holy] woman

My response: by birth and nature women are pavan but men collect all the dirt on them
Chakravarty: Thanks to Patti (my mother) for keeping the balance.

A serious question: Sometimes I wonder why God created eve, he could have left Adam alone, these problems would not have come
another comment from another woman:  World will be colorless,  we make their life interesting

My response: True. If men are hit by such a strong hand of a woman, as he will bleed, his life will become very colorful

Another response: Swamiji always supports men.

Vijayakumar: No. swamiji supports only women and I know that personally. No balance with Patti. We both are crying

Part Three

My final response:

Due to lack of sleep and tiredness I fail to notice your question about God creating Eve and not leaving Adam alone.  I have two kinds of answers: First is a serious one—Theological and the second one is humorous—Dayanand’s style.  But I am afraid to share both of them. Because when I say something seriously, it is taken lightly and many laugh at it.  And when I say something just as humor it is taken seriously and backfired.  Anyhow as I cannot resist the temptation, particularly with sharing humor, I will write it just for the sake of humor.

4-9-17

Theological one:  God created Eve so that we can question God and ask him Why. In fact the creation of Eve alone is the starting point of theology and religion.

                              Fish gotta swim

                                 Bird gotta fly

                                Man gotta sit and say

Why why why— McEvilley, Shape of Ancient Thought: Comparative Studies in Greek and Indian Philosophies, Delhi, Motilal Banarsidass Publishers, (2002), First Indian Edition, 2008.   Foreword. p. xxxii.

Humor one:

After creating Adam and leaving him in Eden he was enjoying his life without knowing anything about suffering, pain, sorrow and not even about thankfulness, worship etc.  So God was wondering what happened to him and urgently called the counsel of Trinity and said, ‘See this boy! Ever since I created him in my own Image, he is roaming freely not even worshiping me and thinking about me. This is not good and how to help him understand this?

After some thought Muktinath said: Well, I know what is going to happen in future.  But I have an idea?  Why not create something and give it to him so that he will always remember you.

Holy Spirit: the best one would be to create some other creature completely different from him but almost similar to him.  So that he can neither live with it nor live without it.

Then God meditated upon it but before acting, as per his habit wanted to convey his thought to Adam. So he called and said to him:

God: How are you Adam?

Adam: I am fine God, why do you ask this?

God: Because I wonder what happened to you?  Ever since I created you and gave the rest of the creation under your control to enjoy you never come back to me to thank or ever worship me. This worried me a lot.

Adam: Worry?  What does it mean?  I never had that word or experienced that in my life?  I don’t even know about thanksgiving?  What does it mean?

God: Ok boy, now I understand where the problem is.  Never mind. I know how to fix it.  Anyhow, are you happy with your life and enjoying the creation?

Adam: O yes. This is really a wonderful life. What wonderful things that you have created and provided for me. Each moment of my life I am enjoying it.

God: OK my boy, but I want to give you a better gift.

Adam: A better gift?  What else can you give me as I am now happy and content with the letter and spirit?

God: You won’t understand that now; however I try to explain it to you.  Just wait for a day and you will know.

So God made Adam to sleep and out of his rib created Eve and when he woke up, with a big smile God presented her to him. Then Adam seeing Eve said:

Wow.  What a wonderful creature. What is this and what am I supposed to do with this?

God: This is the greatest gift that I told you boy.  Just take her and enjoy life.

So Adam took Eve and went away. And God returned back with a big smile knowing what would soon happen.

After one week, there came a knock on the door and the Holy Spirit asked who that is?  God said, ‘Adam and I know why he came.  My dear son go and receive him.

So when Muktinath came he saw Adam standing with Eve with many tears and asked, ‘Can I see God?

Then Muktinath with much wonder asked him, ‘what happened?  Why are you crying?

Adam: No. I only want to see God and will let him know what happened.

But Muktinath said, ‘but we are in an urgent meeting and God cannot come and see you now.

Adam with much anger said, ‘what kind of urgent meeting can you have while I am on hot sup?  This is more serious and needs urgent attention.  So kindly allow me to see God.

Taking pity on him, Muktinath informed God and God, already knowing it came to meet Adam.

God: What happened Adam? Why are you crying?  Everything is fine?

Adam: No God?  Everything went wrong.  When you created everything and gave them to me, did I ever come back to complain to you?

God: ‘No’,

.

Adam:  But this one whom you gave as the greatest gift, I find it difficult to live with her.  I never had any problem with other creations, but this one is very difficult. She is always demanding something new and different even after I provide her whatever she asks for.  Each day I collected fresh flowers to decorate her, fresh honey and fruits.  Though she was happy, soon she got bored with them and pestered me to bring something different which will give more excitement to her.  She never feels happy with what she already had and demands every time something new and different.  But where can I go for them?  All that I have is only the things that you already provided?  Am I a creator like you to create new things or invent new things to make her happy by providing new things each time?

After listening to him, God asked, ‘OK boy.  Now what do you want me to do?

‘Please take her back’, Adam falling at his feet with folded hands said.  ‘Enough is enough’.

OK.  No problem.  So God took Eve back and Adam ran away without turning back with a great relief by thinking, ‘now God will know what does it mean to live with a creature like her. ‘But when God took Eve back both Muktinath and Holy Spirit raised their objection by saying, ‘what is this?  How can she be with us as we cannot keep such creation with us?

‘Don’t worry,’ God responded and said ‘just wait and see what will happen. Within 24 hours that boy will be back.

That is what exactly happened.  Next day morning again came a knock and this time God himself went to open it. He saw Adam standing again with folded hands.   The God asked, ‘How are you?  What happened?  Why are you back so soon’?

Adam: ‘God, don’t tease me.  You know why I came back.  Kindly give her back.

God: Why?  You said that you cannot live with her even for a minute with peace of mind.

Adam: What to do God. When you gave all the creation I had no complaints and I was fine.  But now you gave such a gift that neither I can live with her nor I can live without her.  But still I have one question to ask you?

God: Go ahead.  I know that you will ask more questions once I create another person like you?

Adam: Why did you create her?  What is the need for that?  Did I ever ask you for that?

God: I created you expecting you to remain thankful to me and even worshiping me always. But you never understood what is meant by thanksgiving and worship.  Above all I created you so that I too have fellowship with you for sometimes. But you completely went away and never returned even one time.  So to have your fellowship, as I miss it  much among us (we three are the same in essence and spirit, so I want to have something different to have fellowship) I created her so that you will often come back to me with prayers and supplications.  Above all I like verities and now soon you will multiply and I will have different kinds of human groups, particularly a unique ethnic group who will always think very highly about them—I mean Tamilians, but they will write wonderful poems about me to worship. As I want to hear it soon, I gave her to you. Now you will speak only a heavenly language called Tamil and this will be the mother of all other tongues in the world.  So go take her with you and now I know that I need not even worry and wonder what happened to you as you will often call me back remembering me with much tension and stress in life.

And what happened rest is history.

Secular Song 367

Secular Song 367 Keep quiet

Stopping unnecessary imagination

Stopping giving unnecessary explanations

When there is no one to listen to you

Remove this habit of babbling something always

Each one is living their own life

They say that they don’t have time for that

In the meantime they say that

They are not interested to listen to others advice

Even if others voluntarily sought your advice

Think several times carefully

Even if you think that you have the correct answer

Before sharing it be patience while sharing

While you share if they ask some questions

Stopping your sharing try to listen to them

Not giving more explanation about your response

Try to address their question first

If you don’t have proper answer to it

Without any hesitation accept it

Not giving some response just for the sake of giving

Shutting your mouth remain a silent person

Even if your are criticized for that

Not minding about it keep quiet

Not becoming a fool by vain talk

Better you remain a silent person

As I hear what you say that,

“When you are going to become a person of silence

 Who gives this much advice”

Therefore I stop here giving even this advice

9-9-2017, Thirupponthuruthi.  4.30 pm.

In my recent visit to one place I try to give some advice to one person who according to my understanding is not allowing his children to face the challenges of the world by isolating them from society (doing home school and not sending them to regular school, that too in Tamilnadu).  In response he first tried to give his view.  But not convinced by it and as I tried to point out that by creating his own idealism about life, he cannot impose it on his children as they won’t be trained properly to face the challenges of the world.  Irritated by my response, he by raising his voice began to argue. Then I realized my mistake of interfering in his personal life, though I am concerned about the future of his children.   When I was reflecting about this discussion which happened in the morning I wrote this song to rebuke me to keep quiet and not give advice to others unnecessarily when they never sought it from me.

Secular Song 368

368 A sannyasi without renouncing

I try to renounce

But unable to do it

I try to be courageous

But courage is not coming (to do that)

I desire to live

Without attachment

But I am unable to

Attain that desire

Which one should be given up?

I often think about it

But there is no hope

For me to renounce

In order to give up the needs of the body

I should only die

But because of my desire for life

I cannot die

In order to renounce relationships

I should born without any relatives

But there is no chance to come to this world

Without any relatives

Without life and relatives

There is no life in this world

Therefore there is no chance

To renounce this life

Along with this body, life

Is not my own property

Without having my own property

I cannot give them up

Therefore, I renounce

The very idea of renouncing

Still, I have the

Attire of a sannyasi

9-9-2017,Thirupoonthuruthi, மாலை, 6.30

The first principle in renunciation is that you should earn to give up.  What does not belong to you, you cannot give up.  As the body, life etc. are not mine, there is no chance for renouncing anything in life.  As I was reflecting about this in my evening walk, I wrote this song, though I live with the attire of a sannyasi.  The only easy thing for me to renounce is to give up the very concept of renunciation.

Secular Song 369

Secular Song 369 Understand this

Don’t’ compel those

Who refuses to come?

And don’t reject

Those come to you

Don’t go and

Seek problem

When opportunity comes

Don’t hesitate to escape

Many in need

Are seeking fellowship

And the arrogant one

Keeps away from others

Whom you should

Seek

Does anyone

Need to tell this to you

Those who starve

Begs many times

Those who over eat

Mocking at you

To whom

Should you help?

How can say

Better than this

The oppressed are

Lamenting

And those who want to suppress others

Take the whip

With whom

You should stand

Why should

One needs to say further

Opportunity

Comes only once

Similarly

Life will refuse to come back

One should know

How to live

This one time life

Which refuses to come back?

If you understand this

You will survive wisely

Refuse to understand

You will face your own funeral

Perishing or living

Is now in your hand

Realizing this

Try to live wisely

Thirupponthuruthi, 10-9-2017, 6.30 pm.

Friendship and relationships need to be nurtured.  Remaining one way traffic won’t help in this.  And running after those who refused to have fellowship is a mere waste of time and energy.  Seeking those who are in need for some kind of fellowship one should try to give it to them.  This is a wise way to live this human life.  And the choice is in our hands.

Secular Song 370

Secular Song 370 I am he

Without remaining

True in personal life

There is no point

In advising others

Knowing this

Very clearly

I came to

Advise others

I came to tell

Not for others to change

But I share my longing

To me alone

The other to whom I advise

Is it not anyone other than me?

Keeping me as that another person

I write this

When there is

No change within me

How can I give?

Advice to others

Keeping me

That another person

As he listens

I share this to lament

As he listens

And as I share

We both

Get some comforts

Thirupponthuruthi, 12-9-2017, 5.30 am.

As I said several times before: I do most of the things only for me and my needs.  Particularly all my writing is only to address my needs.  In principle I never like to give advice to others, but there are few exceptions, particularly when innocent and weak people suffer, then I try to interfere to give some advice. Otherwise I live my life for me and with me.
