Limitation of God

I sent one greetings to some of my Christians friends and shshyas who still celebrate Easter in their own traditional way.  But while typing I made a mistake [or the app typed wrongly].  This is the message that I sent: Wish you a happy Easter.  May the restricted Lord give grace and strength to serve Him.

Actually I typed ‘resurrected’ but not noticing that it accepted the word ‘restricted’, I sent that message without noticing the change.  Then one of my friends sent a response: One typo in your message (‘restricted’ instead of ‘resurrected’)  In response to this message I sent another message: Resurrection is also a restricted view about God.  Maybe this is the message that God wanted to convey by this typing error.

After sending this message when I went for my evening walk I began to meditate upon my own message.  Then I realized that this is also one of the messages of the Mrutyunjay puja as we celebrate it.  In INCARNATION God RESTRICTED Himself to reveal in the Lord and in RESURRECTION the Lord restricted Himself to give a glimpse of our life in the Further Shore with Him.  Because neither INCARNATION nor RESURRECTION can reveal the True nature of God.  Both are His voluntary act because of our need.  God does not require both of them to prove who He is but he voluntarily accepted those limitations only for our sake.  This could be another message of Mrutunjai puja.

So using my typo conveyed another message to me which I would like to share with you.

God gave bhakti to soar up and up to reach New Hights through our Sadhana. But like Arjuna who wanted to run away in the eleventh because of ‘frustration’ [Karpanya dosha = delusion out of frustration], we also put several ‘restrictions’ and almost gave up our dharma as bhaktas. Like Krishna who gently persuaded him to stand up and fight to complete his dharma, the Lord is also persuading us to get up from our lethergy to soar to persuade in our sadhana through our ‘Resurrection’ again in Him. Of course we believe in a physical resurrection though we have to wait for our turn in future. But we need to resurrect in spirit everyday to have a glimpse of it in our life now and today. By this I am not philosophying Resurrection denying the ‘materiality’ in it but we should overcome the spirit of ‘materialism’ that we try to attach with it. Now this looks like a philosophy. Isn’t? But what to do when you listen some scholarly discourse about the importance of ‘materiality’ that Muktiveda upholds beward of ‘materialism’ in our lives [Prof. LTJ, listened in one of his video message and reading his scholarly paper on this subject] we cannot avoid such philosophy though we need to differentiate the Theology from philosophy. And this is also a personal message that I got from this Mrutunjai puja celebration which I celebrated with few in Bangalore yesterday.
