Secular Song 431
Another song reflecting the life of old people, particularly living in a joint family. Though others try their best to serve them and take care of them, even small words or indifference upset the old people and they began to lament about such a life in their old age. But they forgot that they too have done the same to their elders when they were young. In all this, even as an old person, I will only blame the old people as they never learn to adjust with the demands of the time. After living a long life, when one retires he should try to renounce so many things in life mentally. Otherwise, he has to face the consequences of such a scenario.
Secular Song 431

Secular Song 431 Whom shall we blame?
Somehow, we came (to the world)
Somehow, we lived so far
Now life itself
Becomes a question
Thinking that
What would be the future?
As the head is rolling
Some kind of fear has come
It was in the past
When others listened to when we told
Now time has come
To talk to ourselves
If we keep quiet
They say that we are adamant
If I open our mouths
Then they say that now we became a rowdy
‘Don’t ask any question’
They say
‘Do you need to lament all the time’
They ask
Go silently eating
What is offered to you
Remain in a corner
Silently, they say
This become
Our condition now
What is the need to blame anyone?
This become our life now

Secular Song 432
There is a Tamil proverb which my mother often quotes: if our neighbor lives properly we too can live happily. My mother often used to joke that if our neighbors live prosperously at least they won’t come to borrow from us. As one such incident happened today with us, after blessing our neighbors to live happily and joyfully I wrote this song.
Secular Song 432

Secular Song 432 Let good thing alone happen to all
Let good things happen to everyone
Let all live happily
All those who live around us
Live happily
If others live properly
We too can live happily
We can protect both
Home and the land accordingly
As we cooperate with others
And live cordially
We can live happily
Having fellowship with all
If we live together
The blessings are many fold
When we work as a group
There is greater strength in it
Both in life and death
We need others’ help
There is satisfaction
Only living with others
Thinking this
Let us live cordially
Let us seek blessings
In this life on this earth

Secular Song 433
When I saw the picture of a boy in his Whatsapp logo, who is the son of my closest shishya, I just teased him and asked him to send that picture to me. I didn’t see him for a long time. Last time I saw him, he was studying in high school. Now he has completed his college studies. But in spite of my repeated messages, he never sent his picture. Even when I wrote that my mother wanted to see his photo, he never responded. This disappointed me. Of course, that boy out of shyness might be hesitant to send his picture, as I teased him a bit after seeing his picture in his Whatsapp emblem, particularly in his dhoti. But in spite of my several messages, as he remained indifferent, I realized that however his father was very close to me, as there came a gap now, I cannot expect the same kind of love, affection and even response from them. This happened with so many other friends and relatives. When their children were young, I prepared so many delicious things to feed them. I made special sweets, special pickles etc. etc. But once they are grown, they do not even call me once in a year to ask about me. When grown up children don’t have time even to call their parents to know about their condition, it is too much for people like me to expect their children to call me. Of course, their parents still keep a good and cordial relationship with me. But the present young generation finds such distant relatives or friends of their parents highly boring and seeking some kind of communication from them, we are demanding too much from them. They try to keep away from us. As I was contemplating on this, I wrote this song.
Secular Song 433

Secular Song 433 Show with limitation
Live like the water on the lotus leave
Show your affection too with measure
If we move closely, it will burn us
If we stand in a distance, we will feel cold
If we go in front, it will bite
If we stand behind it will kick
So, we should load the burden carefully
And take the donkey accordingly
If others move away on their own, don’t interfere
If they come seeking you, don’t reject them
Knowing your limitation
Then do accordingly in your action
We should know other’s situation
Then we should know their heart also
Accordingly, we should involve
We should enter in water after knowing its depth
Before rescuing the drowning person
We should jump only if we know swimming
If jump in a haste
Then we will end up in danger (for both)
As I experienced this, I share
As I get burnt, I realized this
So, try to survive knowing this
Learn to live with maturity

Secular Song 434
Another song about the reality of relationships in life.
Secular Song 434
Secular Song 434 Unchanging truth
Though we are surrounded by
Relatives and friends
Time will come when
We need to be alone
Though we live
In a home and town
Loneliness will come
In our lives too
The love and affection
Which begins without any understanding?
Will become sore
Once we began to understand them slowly
Those who came
Seeking us with much affection
Will go away once
They began to understand us slowly
Can we say that?
This is the law of the nature
Or should we say that
This is mere contradiction of our heart?
Whichever it might be
As we live
We should
Accept this truth
Mathigiri, 2.40, p.m. 11-4-18
Secular Song 435
The way social media misguides us more than guiding properly, it is better to keep away from it. After reading any message, before one could even think about it, so many counter views pour in which distract and never allow one to think clearly. In this scenario, to have a sober mind and life, better keep away from social media and even don’t share your thoughts. The way few respond with abusive words and unparliamentary words much disturbed the mind. As I read such comments about a politician in Tamilnadu, particularly about a woman last night and as I was reflecting about it, I wrote this song. Even the minimum that I read in a few groups is not useful and valuable, though they have some good points. Because without taking time to think and reflect, any quick responses based on one’s ideology or emotion help no one. For me the books are the best one—as they compel us to read them seriously or keep away from them. But social media messages are not like that. They always drift and toss on the waves of opinion rather than conviction.
Secular Song 435
Secular Song 435 Please you don’t read this
Why should one sing?
A song which was not written
Why should one live life?
Which is not even there?
Why should we tell?
To those who cannot understand?
If they deny even after understood it
Then why should we say anything to them?
What was told yesterday has gone
With wind today
Each day new
Contentions have come
Once everything become
Free for all
What to say to whom
This become unclear
Like the dream
Which a dump has seen
How much we tell
It won’t be clear to others
Therefore, it is better
To remain silent
But it is not possible for me
What I can do now
Therefore, I am
Writing only for me
I am stopping to tell
Others
Therefore, you please
Don’t read this
Then don’t
Blame me for that
