I learnt doing art works from my mother when I was around eight years old. I learnt netting, doing cross stitch and other embroidory works, making baskets out of plastic wires, using artificial pearls to make patters and drawing and so many. Out of my own interest later I invented my own art works based on the available materials. But when I completed my studies and started to earn I had no time for art work much, though occassionaly I was doing some works. However wen I visited Varanasi back in 2002 when I visited a family I found a book of cross stitch patterns. When the lady of the family saw that she asked whether I am interested doing cross stitch works. Then I shared how I used to but now gave up due to lack of time. However when she showed some of her cross stitches, then as they inspired me, then I started to do it again. When my mother came to stay with me she also resumed her art work and done so many things. However we generally give them as gift to others to enjoy than keeping with us. So I gave most of my cross stitch works to various people. Some of them framed and enjoying it. But few carefully preserve them in their cupboard and almera making them as the fodder for silver fish. This really saddened me. If they don’t like it or have no time to frame and enjoy, they could have gifted to someone else who can enjoy. Well I cannot force them to do that I have to content with the thought that I gave them as a gift and now it is left to them how to use it.
