BT Song 1576
Tamil poet Kannadasan in one of his songs wrote that God is not in our experience but our very experience itself is God. Other than this, all other forms of search or expression won’t help one experience the presence of God in life. So not only the question, ‘whether God exists or not’ but even ‘how to find Him’ becomes irrelevant once we experience this reality in our everyday life—as God seeks to reveal Himself as our experience in life.
1576 Don’t read this
Simple English
In your Kingdom,
Nothing is meaningless,
As experience teaches a lot,
There’s no teacher other than that.
To the question, “Where’s God,”
The poet [Kannadasan] said:
He is the experience,
You realize Him there.
There’s no use in talking philosophy,
By arguments, we can’t reach Him.
When we give our heart,
He dwells there joyfully.
Even if we seek on our own,
Though we do many tapasya,
Even avoiding all kinds of rituals,
He simply evades us.
He himself seeks us in his own,
Even overloading us with much love,
Bestowing Mukti through bhakti,
Still, he won’t give his Darshan there also.
How many birthdays we might take,
We will never get an answer for this.
No one can assure in which birth,
One will attain it.
After getting the human birth,
By our mistake missing it,
If we think to work out in the next birth,
There is no use in it.
All these Q and A are,
Not even new to us.
This also is a philosophy,
There’s no use in this.
Therefore, not reading,
Many scribbles like these,
Better you look after your next work,
There you will find God.

1576 Do not peruse this
Classical English
In thy Dominion,
Nought remains meaningless,
For experience imparts wisdom,
No preceptor surpasseth it.
To the query, “Where abides God,”
The poet [Kannadasan] did declare:
He is the experience,
Therein thou shalt perceive Him.
Discourses on philosophy avail naught,
Through debate, we reach Him not.
When we offer our hearts,
Therein He doth reside joyfully.
Though we strive independently,
Performing myriad austerities,
Eschewing every ritualistic observance,
He doth elude us still.
He seeketh us in His own way,
Lavishing us with boundless love,
Granting liberation through devotion,
Yet His visage remaineth unseen.
However many births we endure,
This enigma eludes resolution.
None can vouchsafe in which incarnation,
One shall attain the ultimate.
Having attained human form,
And failing by our own missteps,
Should we seek to rectify in another birth,
It availeth naught.
These queries and responses,
Are not new unto us.
They too are but philosophy,
Of no avail.
Therefore, refrain from reading,
Such myriad scribblings,
Rather, tend to thy subsequent tasks,
Therein shalt thou find God.

BT Song 1577
Does God have the right or only duty? For me, God has only duty and no right as He cannot give that to Himself. So when we do our ‘duty’ and demand our right, then He is obliged to do justice according to our duty. Justice delayed is justice denied. But this is also applicable when God has to do His duty and always not postponing it by showing His Right.
BT Song 1577 Delayed Justice
Simple English
When it’s your responsibility,
As I am,
For anything,
You are the one who said so. 1
Don’t argue,
About this,
I know there is,
A reason for that. 2
Complaining about me,
Is useless,
There is no,
Fault in me. 3
You, the creator,
Know everything,
If you ask the creation,
You will understand too. 4
You are said to be,
The ultimate cause,
You are the beginning,
And the end. 5
If cause and effect,
Are yours,
How can I,
Take responsibility? 6
You have thousands,
Of answers,
You have the skill,
To argue too. 7
There is no need,
For me,
You cannot,
Deny this. 8
We have fought,
This battle many times,
Many have fought,
Before me too. 9
Without the final argument,
Getting concluded,
There is no,
Judgment for this. 10
Intentionally delaying,
Dragging the case,
Wastefully prolonging,
And avoiding. 11
No matter how much,
You try to escape,
On the final day,
The judgment will come. 12
Finishing my case,
Giving the final verdict,
Even to me,
End your justice. 13
Or argue and,
Prove your victory,
Stop delaying justice,
Show your justice. 14
Even delayed justice,
Is still,
Delaying justice,
Itself. 15
Law doing,
Its duty,
Is human,
Argument. 16
Can you,
Say the same?
Do you have,
An answer for this? 17
So accept,
Your responsibility,
Give the judgment,
And establish justice. 18

BT Song 1577 Deferred Justice
Classical English
When it is thy duty,
As I am,
For any matter,
Thou art the one who declared thus. 1
Engage not in argument,
Regarding this,
I am aware,
Of the reason therefor. 2
To fault me,
Is in vain,
No error,
Lies within me. 3
Thou, the creator,
Knowest all,
If thou inquirest of creation,
Thou shalt comprehend too. 4
Thou art declared,
The primal cause,
Thou art the beginning,
And the end. 5
If cause and effect,
Are thine,
How can I,
Assume responsibility? 6
Thou hast thousands,
Of responses,
Thou art skilled,
In argument too. 7
There is no necessity,
For me,
To deny this,
Thou canst not. 8
We have contended,
This dispute oft,
Many before me,
Have contended too. 9
Without the ultimate argument,
Reaching conclusion,
There is no,
Judgment forthcoming. 10
Deliberately delaying,
Prolonging the case,
Wastefully extending,
And evading. 11
Regardless of thy attempts,
To escape,
On the final day,
Judgment shall arrive. 12
Concluding my case,
Delivering the final decree,
Even unto me,
Cease thy justice. 13
Or engage in debate,
And prove thy triumph,
Cease delaying justice,
Manifest thy justice. 14
Even deferred justice,
Is yet,
Delaying justice,
In essence. 15
The law fulfilling,
Its duty,
Is the argument,
Of mankind. 16
Canst thou,
Proclaim the same?
Hast thou an answer,
For this? 17
Therefore, accept,
Thy responsibility,
Deliver the judgment,
And establish justice. 18

BT Song 1578
Prayer is constant communication with God. Taking separate time for that is part of sadhana, but keeping all kinds of communication—reading, writing, thinking, singing, remaining calm, and even this kind of babbling—is also part of prayer. I never limit prayer as a sadhana in my life.
BT 1578 How Long to Pray
Simple English
I don’t know how much,
To pray,
I don’t understand,
How to pray. 1
Still, I came,
To you,
To lay down,
The burden of my mind. 2
If done mistakenly,
It’s a mistake,
If done knowingly,
It’s wrong too. 3
Wise men who understand,
Say,
If both are done,
What to do? 4
To let go of the old burden,
I came,
To stand and pray,
To let it go. 5
If you place a new burden,
On me,
I don’t have the strength,
To bear it. 6
I don’t think,
That praying,
Is useless,
And just give up. 7
That connection,
Should not be lost,
I should not,
Reach that state. 8
Knowing the limit,
Of my strength,
You won’t let me,
Break down. 9
Knowing the limit,
Of my patience,
You still,
Add more to it. 10
When I break,
You give your shoulder,
Lift me up,
And make me walk again. 11
That’s why,
I came again,
To tell you this,
And lament. 12
Even if I ramble,
Or lament,
Take it all,
As my prayer. 13
As usual,
Come and help,
I prayed,
Standing and pleading. 14

BT 1578 How Long to Pray
Classical English
I know not how long,
To pray,
Nor do I comprehend,
The manner of prayer. 1
Yet I came,
Unto thee,
To lay down,
The burden of my heart. 2
If done in error,
It is a mistake,
If done knowingly,
It is wrong as well. 3
The wise,
Who understand,
Say,
What to do if both are done? 4
To release the old burden,
I came,
To stand and pray,
To let it go. 5
If thou placest a new burden,
Upon me,
I lack the strength,
To bear it. 6
I do not deem,
That prayer,
Is fruitless,
And abandon it. 7
That connection,
Should not sever,
I must not,
Reach that state. 8
Knowing the limit,
Of my strength,
Thou wilt not let me,
Break down. 9
Knowing the limit,
Of my patience,
Thou still,
Addest more to it. 10
When I break,
Thou givest thy shoulder,
Lift me up,
And make me walk again. 11
Therefore,
I came again,
To tell thee this,
And lament. 12
Even if I ramble,
Or lament,
Take it all,
As my prayer. 13
As is thy wont,
Come and aid,
Thus I prayed,
Standing and pleading. 14

BT Song 1579
Though God never comes personally, taking a physical form to help us, still all the help that comes in our life, both visible and invisible, is only His help. But sometimes our situation demands some tangible help from God through people, and the way that encourages us is incomparable to what God is doing normally in our life. In fact, bhakti demands that in distress, though it knows that all that happens in a bhakta’s life is done only by God.
BT Song 1579 Show in action
Simple English
It is your choice,
Whether to give or not.
Coming and asking,
Is our right.
When I respect,
Your right,
You also should,
Accept my right.
It’s not enough to say,
‘This is what I am doing.’
But you should show,
How you are doing it.
When you can clearly see,
My coming and asking [in action],
Where is the evidence,
For your action of listening and giving?
Therefore, don’t present,
Any argument before me,
Only highlighting,
Your right alone.
When you gave me,
My right to ask,
Tell me who gave you,
Your right to give or deny?
There is none,
Greater than you,
Therefore you even,
Don’t have any right [given by others].
You can’t bestow,
Something to yourself,
And if you do it,
How is it acceptable to me?
Giving your own,
To yourself,
Looks entirely,
New.
If you have any right,
That also was given,
By your devotees,
And nothing else.
Changing [your] duty,
As your right,
It was given by the devotees,
Nothing else.
We gave that duty,
Only changing the name,
As right,
In your hands.
When we have,
Done our duty,
With that right,
We are asking this from you.
When we have done,
Our duty by action,
Where is your,
Duty in action? Tell us that.
“I will give company,
I will give my shoulder,
I will walk with you,
I will take you further.”
Though all such words,
Fell in our ears,
We haven’t seen,
Anything in action.
Both the life of,
Atheists and theists,
Remains the same,
In many ways.
In several ways,
Indeed their life,
Is much better,
Than our lives.
Don’t reject this,
By saying that,
This is nothing but,
Old ‘human’ rhetoric/philosophy.
We don’t need to,
Compare our lives with others,
It is enough if you,
Give our right back.
As you forgot this,
Your duty, I ask this,
By the right,
That you alone gave.
I don’t want,
Any answer by words,
Show that by your action,
Then I will accept it.

BT Song 1579 Manifest in Deeds
Classical English
It is thy prerogative,
Whether to bestow or withhold.
To come and petition,
Is our inalienable right.
When I revere,
Thy prerogative,
Thou too shouldst,
Acknowledge my entitlement.
It suffices not to declare,
‘This is my endeavor.’
Thou must needs illustrate,
The manner of thy deeds.
As thou clearly perceivest,
My approach and petition [in action],
Where lies the proof,
Of thy listening and granting?
Henceforth, present not,
Any contention before me,
Merely accentuating,
Thy prerogative alone.
When thou gavest me,
My right to petition,
Pray, who conferred upon thee,
Thy right to bestow or deny?
There exists none,
Greater than thee,
Thus thou possessest not,
Any right [bestowed by another].
Thou canst not confer,
Aught upon thyself,
And if thou dost,
How is it acceptable to me?
Bestowing upon thyself,
Thine own gifts,
Appeareth entirely,
A novel phenomenon.
If thou hast any prerogative,
That too was granted,
By thy devotees,
And naught else.
Transmuting [thy] duty,
Into thy prerogative,
It was granted by the devotees,
And nothing more.
We bestowed that duty,
Merely altering its name,
Into a right,
Within thy grasp.
When we have,
Fulfilled our duty,
By that right,
We now petition thee.
When we have fulfilled,
Our duty through action,
Where is thy,
Duty in action? Declare it.
“I shall provide companionship,
I shall lend my shoulder,
I shall walk with thee,
I shall escort thee further.”
Though such words,
Have reached our ears,
We have witnessed,
Naught in action.
Both the existence of,
Atheists and theists,
Remains akin,
In manifold ways.
In numerous respects,
Indeed their existence,
Surpasses,
Our own.
Reject not this plea,
As naught but,
Mere ‘human’ rhetoric/philosophy,
Of old.
We require not to,
Compare our lives with others,
It sufficeth if thou,
Restore our rightful due.
As thou hast forgotten,
Thy duty, I demand this,
By the right,
Thou alone hast conferred.
I desire not,
Any response in words,
Manifest in deeds,
Then shall I accept.

BT Song 1580
Do we need to reflect or evaluate our everyday life? I personally believe there is no need for that. And it is better not to do that as too much personal analysis of our own life would paralyze our mind. As the fish lives naturally in water, a bhakta has to live naturally in God, not attempting to live separately or specifically for God.
BT 1580 Will Get Like Yourself
Simple English
When I live,
For you,
Tell me how,
To live for myself. 1
When you live,
From within me,
Tell me how,
To live for you. 2
This too is a riddle,
Who will solve it?
How to solve it?
Who will know? 3
When neither you,
Nor I understand,
Who will understand,
And how? 4
Some thought,
Came into me,
And I wrote it down,
Just like that. 5
There’s no need,
To search for answers,
I lived in you,
Without searching. 6
No need to explore,
And analyze,
No need for,
Any investigations. 7
Living daily,
With you,
In that itself,
Answers will come like yourself. 8
This blessing,
You will get,
You too will understand,
And live like me. 9
Whatever you do,
Do it for Him,
This life,
Will be like yourself. 10

BT Song 1576
