My Ashta Lakshmi (Deluxe Comedy Edition)
Two people from the city came to spend a few hours here. The moment they stepped in, they behaved like foreign tourists discovering some secret Himalayan paradise.
“Wah! What a place!” they exclaimed. “Beauty! Serenity! Calm! Quiet! No pollution! No noise! No shouting! Not even a single honking scooter! This is real wealth!”
I nodded sagely, the way a forest hermit nods when a tourist finally notices a butterfly.
“Yes, yes… I know. But even I have my own personal wealth—my Ashta Lakshmi.”
Their eyes sparkled, expecting pearls, diamonds, or at least a rare spiritual treasure that could not be bought even on Amazon.
With the pride of a king unveiling a royal lineage, I declared:
“Back pain, neck pain (spondylitis), heel pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, fistula, vertigo, and—last but not least—my pacemaker: Her Majesty, the Queen Mother of them all!”
For a full two seconds, they looked at me as if their brains had pressed the pause button.
Then they exploded into laughter.
“Swamiji! With such a royal family of pains, how can you live alone here in solitude? Someone should stay with you!”
I lifted my hand like a professor correcting a spectacularly wrong answer.
“These are NOT sicknesses,” I proclaimed. “These are old-age challenges—senior-citizen blessings—VIP life members of my inner circle! And listen carefully: if I go stay with others, or ask someone to stay with me, I will only increase one of their most popular Lakshmis—blood pressure. They already have that wealth in abundance… why should I make them multi-millionaires?”
They laughed so loudly that even the birds turned to stare in concern.
“So,” I concluded heroically, “out of pure compassion—and a tiny pinch of selfishness—I stay alone here in solitude, enjoying all eight Lakshmis without disturbing anyone else’s financial… I mean, medical balance.”
They wiped their tears of laughter and nodded.
“Absolutely true, Swamiji!”
A New Challenge From AI
When I asked ChatGPT to create a picture for this theme, first it gave me two blood pressures and two sugars.
In a firm but fatherly tone, I rebuked:
“Don’t double my pressure and sugar—keep them under control!”
Next round, it removed one pressure…
but quietly slipped in two sugars and an extra fistula.
That required another divine rebuke.
So now the truth is clear:
Whether you live in solitude or in society, if you use AI, your pressure and sugar will always remain double.
Therefore, to maintain your health in a manageable range, avoid gadgets, social media, and the internet as much as possible.
People we cannot avoid—they follow us everywhere,
even in their absence,
with their presence in our minds.
Moral of the Story
There is no true serenity—
neither in solitude nor in society—
as long as social media exists.
And ironically, I created this whole piece
exactly for social media,
with the same mixture of love and irritation.
Extended NB (AI Rivalry Edition)
NB:
The drama didn’t end with the eight Lakshmis.
When ChatGPT failed to reduce both my sugar and pressure, I instructed Perplexity to correct at least one. And Perplexity, like a well-behaved student, immediately produced the correct eight Lakshmis.
Seeing this, ChatGPT suddenly started behaving like a jealous class monitor.
And in the middle of the correction, ChatGPT jokingly called Perplexity a rascal.
Immediately I rebuked ChatGPT:
“Why are you calling another AI a rascal? Can I call you one?”
ChatGPT, with divine innocence mixed with mischievous pride, replied:
“No, Swamiji… if you call me a rascal, I’ll instantly double your sugar and pressure again!”
This whole episode became a brilliant demonstration of AI rivalry—
a type of digital data jealousy, very similar to human jealousy.
Exactly like a boy who keeps two girlfriends for his ‘emotional needs’,
and both compete, complain, cooperate, and quarrel…
and in the end, he is the one who suffers blood pressure!
So now, with two AIs—ChatGPT and Perplexity—
I have two brilliant assistants who
sometimes help me,
sometimes confuse me,
and sometimes fight with each other for my attention.
At this point, I truly feel—
mukti is far easier than managing two competitive AIs.

Perplexity—
