Secular Songs 251 to 256

Secular Song 251

Secular Song 251 Should listen others

I won’t listen anything

I won’t accept whoever tells it

Once someone come to this conclusion

There is no point of giving advice to them

Nobody can live on this earth

With clear understanding about oneself

We don’t have enough opportunity

To understand about others too

Not understanding properly

And coming to a conclusion based on it

Then changing one’s stand accordingly

Creates lots of struggle in such life

To uphold us when we stumble

And to point out our mistakes

If we don’t have proper friends

They will fall down quickly

Thiruvalluvar clearly told about this

And gave proper advice that:

“A guardless sovereign with none to caution

Even without foes will come to ruin”

How many were lost thinking that:

“I know everything”

Not joining with that crowd

We should listen to others

Mathirigi, 18-10-16, 11.10 pm.

Blessed is the person who not only realizes his limitations but is willing to listen to others advice when he cannot think and act properly.  Thankfully we don’t know everything and we cannot understand everything.  To help us to understand those things which we cannot understand we need others’ counsel.  Blessed is the person who listen other’s counsel.

Secular Song 252.

Secular Song 252. Not a burden

What is the point of becoming upset with me?

Not knowing heart

What kind of answer that I could give

As they don’t know anything about it

If I began to count all those become upset with me

Even numbers are not enough for that

I don’t have the strength

To give answer to all

My parents and relatives became upset with me

And even my siblings also became upset

Even my friends and dear ones also become upset

Finally I too become upset with me

Joint with them all

Even God too become upset with me

And He alone even gave

The answer for that

“They unloaded their anger

With someone upon you

And bearing it like me

You too keep quiet” He said

I don’t have any other simple means

For me to follow, other than this.

As I am already bearing so many burdens

This one never became an extra burden

Mathigiri, 24-10-16, 5.45 pm.

If anyone becomes upset with me for any reason, I understand it and agree with them. As I often fail to communicate my thoughts properly, unable to understand my true intentions, when they become upset with me, it never becomes an extra burden, as I faced so many people who became upset with me in the past, including God.  As He alone gave the formula to bear it, I followed it.

Secular Song 253

Secular Song 253. Non-existing authority

I don’t need any kind of authority

I don’t want to lord over on any one

I am ready to run away, if I am allowed to do so

And if not, then I am ready to serve

When did I get the authority which is not even exists

There is none who ever listened to me

When my situation become like that cat which drank the hot milk

What kind of questions is this that came now?

They ask account for something which is never given

Even if I give they refuse to accept it

They ask thousands of unnecessary questions

And if give answer, they say nothing is correct

I don’t know either to laugh or weep

I don’t know whether to accept it or reject

Tying both my hands at the back

They push me in the water and ask me to swim

Once we put our head in the pounding stone

There is no use of fearing about the poundings

Either rice or rice-flake, whichever might come out?

There is no way to escape till the end

My condition become like the left over husk

And it went to the dust bin without any use

But thinking that if is decomposed will become manure

I again fell back in the pounding stone happily

Mathiriri, 26-10-16, 2.30

Authority is never demanded but earned.  But in life some situation will come where we cannot even claim, even if we earn it. Personally, in my life I never demanded any authority as I never felt that I am qualified to earn it. But when I am questioned about non-existent authority, it makes me laugh thinking about my own situation and this is the context of this song.

Secular Song 254

Secular Song 254 Question disappeared

As I become a question

Some confusion came in between

I don’t know to whom I shall ask

As all are like me alone

They told me to ask clearly

And they shared what they know

Once I understood what they shared

New questions began to arise

Then they said: “better stop asking questions

As you don’t know how to ask

There is no point of think about it

Because you won’t understand

Question alone is the answer for question

Those who give up asking questions are the wise ones

Those who received answers are the fools

And those who kept quiet fortunately escaped.”

“First you understand this”, they said

As they really loved me.

Then I understood

After that all the questions disappeared.

Mathigiri, 27-10-16, 11.10

This is a repeated theme in my life. I wrote previously that ‘when question itself becomes the answer; answer becomes an unnecessary one’. Also that, ‘one thing which we should not ask is: meaningless question and answer for that’ (from a film ‘Thiruvilayadal,).  As the same process continued, I wrote the same kind of song one more time.  The moral of the song is: so don’t write any more songs like this.

Secular Song 255

Secular Song 255 I am retired

What a joy

What a joy

I am retired

And I will

Live as I like

I will sleep and awake (as I like)

And will remain as a lazy person

And wander as I like

And when I wish

Again I will go to bed

I won’t worry about

Accounts (and auditing)

And whatever is

Available on my hand

I will spend my life

With much joy

I will read and write

Whatever I like

At the same time

I won’t do it

For others sake

That time is gone

Where I walked extra mile

And rest of my life

Belongs to me

I too got life (as I am not yet dead)

To see this retirement

And I also have

Energy to see that

In one way

The old age too

Is very joyful

And when I think about it

I am rejoicing

If the body become weak

Let it be

But let my heart alone

Remain youthful

All the time

There is none

As a blessed

Person like me

And there is

Not point of envying

Me for this

Mathigiri, 28-10-16 7.45 pm.

Retirement is a joyful event in life, particularly for a person who was busy with so many activities in life.  Imagining such a life I wrote this song.
