When I was forced to make some decisions, some of my shishyas in Rewa began to talk behind me by saying that I am a deceiver and pretending in life. But when I myself was thinking that as this life is nothing but a drama where we all act putting different masks, I never was disturbed when others talk like this behind me. When I was thinking about it, I wrote this song.
ரீவாவில் சில என் சீடர்கள் என்னுடைய கண்டிப்பை பிடிக்காது, பிறரிடம் என் வாழ்க்கையில் நான் வேடம் போடுவதாக கூறினார்கள். ஆனால் என் வாழ்வை நானே ஒரு வேடம் என எண்ணும்போது பிறர் என்ன எண்ணுவார்கள் என எண்ணாமல் என்னைப் பற்றி எனது எண்ணங்களே எனக்கு சிரிப்பை வரவழைத்தது. அதை எண்ணி 29-11-1994 அன்று ரீவாவில் எழுதிய பாடல்.
36. வாழ்க்கை
ஏமாற வந்தோம் ஏமாற்ற வந்தோம்
இன்றும் என்றும் வாழ்க்கையிலே
இதுபோன்ற உண்மை வேறொன்றும் இல்லை
நான் கண்ட வரையில் இவ் உலகினிலே
தாய் தந்தை இங்கு ஏமாந்தால் அன்று
தரணியில் நாம் வந்தோம் ஏமாற்ற இன்று
போடுவதெல்லாம் வெறும் வேஷமே என்று
புரிந்து கொள் மனமே அனுதினம் நன்று
போடும் வேடமோ ஏமாற்ற வென்று
புலம்பலும் வீணில் ஏன் இங்கு இன்று
ஏமாறும் மனிதரும் இருக்கின்ற வரையில்
ஏமாற்றும் மனிதரும் இருப்பது உண்மையே

All ways in this life, we came to deceive other
And get deceived by others.
As far as I know about life in this world
There is no other greater truth than this!
As our parents deceived each other
We born in this world to deceive others
We all put a mask only
O my mind you better understand this
The role we act is only to deceive others
Why then do you lament unnecessarily?
As long there are people get deceived
There will be people to deceive others.

When one of my friends wrote to me, ” Is God punishing him because of some unknown mistakes which he has made in his life? He was facing lots of problems in his business and life.” When I was thinking about it, to encourage him, I wrote this song and sent it to him.
எனது ஒரு நண்பன், எனக்கு எழுதிய ஒரு கடிதத்தில் ‘எனக்கும் தெரியாத குறைகள் என்னிடம் ஏதேனும் இருக்கிறதா?’ என எழுதியிருந்தான். வியாபாரத்தில் ஏற்படும் பிரச்சனைகள், வாழ்க்கையில் உள்ள கஷ்டங்கள் இவற்றை தன்னிலே இருக்கும், தனக்கே தெரியாத தவறுகளுக்காக இறைவன் அளிக்கும் தண்டனையாக எண்ணினான். அதைக் குறித்து சிந்தித்த போது அவனுக்கு எழுதி அனுப்பிய பாடல் இது.

தண்டிப்பதற் கென்றே

Though I am a rationalist and argumentative in nature, still I cannot understand the nature of my mind clearly. I cannot take control of my mind through my own rationalism. When I was thinking about it, I wrote this song.
நான் ஓரளவு பகுத்தறிவு வாதியும், தர்க்கவாதி யாகவும் இருந்தாலும், என் மனதின் தன்மை முழுமையாகப் புரிந்து கொள்வது மிகவும் கடினமாக உள்ளது. என் பகுத்தறிவு மூலம் என் மனதின் மீது முழுக் கட்டுப்பாடு கொள்ள முடியவில்லை. இதைப் பற்றி யோசித்த போது எழுதிய பாடல்.

Frustration is the nature of the mind
When it goes on its own way
Nobody can control it
And I get disturbed by it often.
If I try to control it will oppose
And if I try to oppose it will laugh at me
If I get depressed it will hate me
And won’t allow me to press forward courageously
When you are going to change
As per my expectations
Oh my mind, better you decided about it
As you wish!

Another song about the need of self-restraint and discipline. But feminist will become upset when we include ‘woman’ as a category along with earth and gold. But this is a traditional way of saying. But this need for man and woman for each other is common to all and we should never treat women as if they are objects of pleasure for men. At the same time we have to recognize that while glorifying women, the male dominated tradition everywhere in the world treats women only as an object of utility for man, which we need to object to.
மனித வாழ்வில் சுயக் கட்டுப்பாடு இன்றி அமையாத ஒன்று. ஆண் ஆதிக்கம் மிகுந்த நமது சமூகத்தில் பெண்களை ஒரு ‘போகப்’ பொருளாக சித்தரிப்பது ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளக் கூடியது இல்லை. ஆனால் இத்தகைய முறை தொன்று தொட்டு இருப்பது ‘பெண்களை’ தனியாக சுட்டிக்காட்டி இழிவு படுத்த அல்ல. காமம் என்று வரும்போது ஆண் பெண் இருவருமே பலவிதங்களில் பாதிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள் என்பதுதான் நடைமுறை உண்மை.

Realizing this, try to use the opportunity.

Not knowing the purpose of coming to this world

Earth, gold and women?
All these three desires are not permanent one
But without them there is no life on this earth!
If you enjoy them with restraint you will progress in life
