BT Song 1211
I always feel that the Lord has some kind of a special relationship with me and shows special love for me. I cannot compare it with any other known relationship on this earth. Of course every bhakta has the same kind of feeling or experience in her life. As I was thinking about this, as the first line of this song came as inspiration I wrote this song as my prayer of this day.
BT Song 1211 A relationship without a name
Simple English
The special love
That you have for me
By which name
I would call it
Is it a mother’s love?
Or the care of a father
Or the affection of a brother
Or the concern of a friend
Or is it the love
That you try to fulfil
The love that I had
In my youth for you (as your lady love)
Redeeming the sinner
And giving bhakti to me
Having a relationship without knowing separation
Are you become my God?
Or should call you as my guru
Who removing ignorance
And annihilating my ego
That shows the spiritual path?
Knowing my needs
Coming to me each day
As you lead me
Should I call you as my Master?
Having these kinds of
Many folded relationship
Which form you took
Tell it first to me
Or not having anyone among them
For the special relationship
That you have for me
Does it have any name?
Having a relationship not knowing separation
Having a love which cannot be comprehended
Once we joined together and become one
Does it need even any name?

BT Song 1211: A Relationship Without a Name (Classical English)
The special love
That thou hast for me,
By which name
Shall I call it?
Is it a mother’s love?
Or the care of a father?
Or the affection of a brother?
Or the concern of a friend?
Or is it the love
That thou dost seek to fulfil,
The love that I did have
In my youth for thee, as thy lady love?
Redeeming the sinner
And bestowing bhakti upon me,
Having a bond without separation,
Hast thou become my God?
Or should I call thee as my guru,
Who removes ignorance
And annihilates my ego,
Showing me the spiritual path?
Knowing my needs,
Coming to me each day,
As thou dost lead me,
Should I call thee my Master?
Having such manifold relationships,
Which form dost thou take?
Tell me first,
I beseech thee.
Or having none of these,
For the special bond
That thou hast for me,
Doth it bear any name?
Having a bond without separation,
Possessing a love beyond comprehension,
Once we have joined together and become one,
Doth it require any name?

BT Song 1212: I Won’t Refuse (Simple English)
When I wanted it, you didn’t give,
When I don’t want it, you don’t listen,
Making me an object of display,
You do whatever you want.
What’s the use of begging many times?
Once I become clay in a potter’s hand,
You’ll mold me as you wish,
And place me where you want.
Should I think
This is the life assigned to me?
Or should I lament
That there’s no way to change it?
On one side is your will,
On the other side is my wish.
When your will is final,
What’s the use of my own wish?
There’s no separate answer for this,
No matter who gives it, it’s no use.
There’s no response from you,
So I won’t ask you.
You know very well
What is beneficial for me.
Once I understand this,
There’s no confusion.
So I won’t ask
For anything I want.
If you give something I don’t want,
I won’t refuse it either.
Mathigiri, 19-6-2020, 11.15 p.m.
BT Song 1212: I Won’t Refuse (Classical English)
When I desired it, thou gavest it not,
When I desire it not, thou dost not heed,
Making me an object of display,
Thou dost as thou wilt.
What avails it to beseech many times?
Once I am as clay in a potter’s hand,
Thou shalt mold me as thou wilt,
And place me where thou wouldst have me.
Shall I think
This is the life assigned to me?
Or shall I lament
That there is no means to alter it?
On one side is thy will,
On the other side is my desire.
When thy will alone is final,
What avails my own desire?
There is no distinct answer for this,
No matter who gives it, it is of no use.
There is no response from thee,
Thus, I shall not inquire of thee.
Thou knowest well
What is beneficial for me.
Once I comprehend this,
Wherefore any confusion?
Thus, I shall not ask
For aught that I desire.
If thou givest what I desire not,
Neither shall I refuse it.

BT Song 1213
Though the time I spend with the Lord is very little, it helps me forget all other activities and needs of life, further pushing my atman to long for it more. Compared to all other activities that consume almost all my time and energy, giving me some job satisfaction, the emptiness I feel simultaneously is real. Particularly, the things essential for living a normal life often become more of a burden than a blessing, as I have to spend much time on their maintenance. That is why I always fear accumulating unnecessary things, though many times I cannot escape from that snare either. So, tonight, when I sat quietly with the Lord and my mind felt some kind of peace and rest, longing more for it, I wrote this song.
BT Song 1213: My Longing (Simple English)
Remembering your presence,
I came thinking of you,
I long to praise,
Worshiping your feet.
Stopping all
Other activities,
I came to sing about you,
Drowning in devotion.
There are many needs
In this world,
As I seek them more and more,
Their need increases more and more.
If I miss even one thing,
Then my heart is troubled,
Till I get it,
My mind refuses to rest.
All that I accumulated
Are around me,
As I look
Unto them.
What I gained
By them is meager,
Numbers are not enough
If I tell what I lost because of them.
But the desire
That I have for them
Began to
Possess me much.
However I try
To cling to your feet,
They will
Prevent me from doing it.
Still, when I
Come to your presence,
When I bow at your feet,
Remembering you,
As I forget
All other activities,
I cling to your feet,
Remembering your grace.
Therefore, often coming
Like this,
Longing to have
Peace in my heart,
Seeking it
Through my devotion,
I sing your praises,
Seeking your feet.

BT Song 1214
It is better not to ask the Lord for all the reasons behind His decisions for our lives. If He reveals them, the burden may increase. Sometimes, not knowing the will of the Lord is better, trusting Him and accepting anything that comes in life. As everything works only for good for all through our lives [as per the original context], trusting the Lord and living life as it comes is better than searching for reasons and the will of God for many things in our lives.
BT Song 1214: I Asked for the Reason (Simple English)
Having some
Valid reasons,
You will
Act in my life.
However much
I try,
You will refuse
To share with me.
Thinking that
If I know,
It will burden me,
You hide it from me.
Yet, as my
Curiosity grows,
I seek
Ways to uncover it.
To teach me a lesson,
You start
Revealing it to me
When I attempt to flee.
Stopping me, you say,
“Once you know,
There’s no way
For you to escape.”
As I understand
Your intentions,
I take refuge
In you.
Explaining both
Reason and action,
You comfort me
In my distress.
Realizing
I have learned enough,
I come
To a decision.
Whatever reasons
You may have,
I won’t ask
For the rationale.
Knowing
You have
Only my welfare,
I bow at your feet.
Mathigiri, 9-7-2020, 11.15 p.m.
BT Song 1214: I Asked for the Reason (Classical English)
Having some
Justifiable reasons,
Thou wilt
Act in my life.
However much
I strive,
Thou wilt refuse
To share with me.
Thinking that
If I know,
It will burden me,
Thou dost hide it from me.
Yet, as my
Curiosity increases,
I seek
Means to discover it.
To teach me a lesson,
Thou dost begin
To reveal it to me
When I try to flee.
Halting me, thou sayest,
“Once thou knowest,
There’s no way
For thee to escape.”
As I comprehend
Thy intentions,
I take refuge
In thee.
Explaining both
Reason and action,
Thou dost console me
In my distress.
Realizing
I have learned sufficient,
I arrive at
A decision.
Whatever reasons
Thou may have,
I shall not inquire
Into the rationale.
Knowing
Thou hast
Only my welfare,
I bow at thy feet.

BT Song 1215
See: The Lord has to wait
BT Song 1215: Rainy Season Has Come (Simple English)
The rainy season
Has arrived,
Making my body thin
And increasing my longing for you.
I know well
That you know
I eagerly await
Your arrival.
Yet, the delay
You cause
Also brings
A kind of bliss.
Not wanting
To miss it,
I asked my heart
To go as your messenger.
“What message
Should I convey?”
My heart asked me,
Seeking guidance.
Given a life
To dwell in you,
With your presence in my heart
And your thoughts within me.
Thus, I manage to avoid
Disappointment
In case of delay
In your arrival.
I also wish
You to know
The joy
Of awaiting each other.
I tasked my heart
To deliver this message
And return
With your response.
But knowing
If it conveys this,
You too
Will languish like me.
As my heart
Refused to go,
I sent
The clouds as my messenger.
They conveyed to you:
“The rainy season has come,
Forget all else,
Better you come too.”
To experience
The bliss of my devotion,
You too
Came seeking me.
As my longing departed,
And my body began to shine anew,
All my sorrows vanished,
And I gained new life.

BT Song 1215: Rainy Season Has Come (Classical English)
The season of rains
Hath arrived,
Rendering my body frail
And augmenting my yearning for thee.
I know well
Thou dost know,
I do await eagerly
Thy arrival.
Yet, the delay
Thou dost impose
Doth also bring
A kind of bliss.
Not wishing
To miss it,
I besought my heart
To go as thy messenger.
“What message
Should I convey?”
My heart inquired,
Seeking counsel.
Given life
To dwell within thee,
With thy presence in my heart
And thy thoughts within me.
Thus, I manage to evade
Disappointment
Should thy arrival delay.
I also wish
For thee to know
The joy
Of awaiting one another.
I tasked my heart
To bear this message
And return
With thy response.
Yet knowing
Should it convey this,
Thou too
Would languish as I do.
As my heart
Refused to go forth,
I dispatched
The clouds as my envoy.
They conveyed to thee:
“The rainy season hath arrived,
Forget all else,
Better thou also come.”
To comprehend
The bliss of my devotion,
Thou too
Didst come seeking me.
As my longing hath subsided,
And my body doth shine anew,
All my sorrows have vanished,
And I have found new life.

BT Song 1211:
