BT Song 491
As I continued to read the ‘Questions and Interventions’ on
Adelheid Mette’s sharing on: God-Gods—Transcendence, pp. 43- 86, in Bsteh (ed.) Hinduism Questioning Christianity (See song 490 for further details) by various scholars, I was overwhelmed by their scholarship which went beyond my comprehension. As this topic on God and Transcendence is a daunting question from time in memory, I said to myself, ‘it is beyond my reach to understand all these thoughts. It is enough for me to come and be in your presence’. Then I wrote this song as my prayer.
BT Song 491

BT Song 491 This relationship is enough
This relationship is enough for me
And the satisfaction of talking with you is enough for me
A simple bhakti is enough for me
And if I live in it, that is enough for me
If the question arises that
“Who is God and what the need for him is”
I don’t have answer for that
And this question itself is not clear to me
Who knows whether He is one or many?
Whether He is within us or outside, who realized this?
Whether He is imminent or transcendent, who knows this?
Whether He is male or female, who understood this?
I cannot understand the secret of the creation
I don’t know who created all these
I cannot understand how he created
And nobody knows why He created all these?
I have thousands of questions within me
But I haven’t decided to
Ask whom
And I don’t know the reason for that
All the answers that I received so far
Are not addressing the questions
As they share what they know
There is no point of asking questions (to them)
Therefore, I come to this conclusion
I have decided to talk only with you
And I don’t have any more questions with me
And I don’t need any answer for them
I came unto you silently
And shared what I felt within me
And I only seek this kind of relationship
In which we too live together like this

BT Song 492
As I read the following profound thought by Prof. Oberhammer, I was very much impressed. I continue to read the book. As this thought constantly echoed in my mind, stopping the reading I wrote this song. Though in stanza three I say that as God found it difficult to live ‘alone’ as He created us, this thought is foreign to Muktiveda, though it is in Hindu worldview. But in order to project my thought that God too celebrated the relationship I superimposed this on Muktiveda. Poem gives such freedom, as it expresses our imagination more than theology/philosophy.
Oberhammer: ….Ultimately, man also needs human relations in order to maintain his religious experience, since they actually allow him to encounter transcendence.— Gerhard Oberhammer, Revelation in Hinduism; Questions and Interventions, in Andreas Bsthe (ed.), Hinduism questioning Christianity: Christian Faith in the Encounter with Hinduism, vol. 1, Modling, 2007, St Gabriedl Publications, originally first published in German: A. Bsteh (ed.,), Der Hinduismus als Anfrage an christliche Theologie und Philosophie (Studien Zur Religionstheologies; 3). Modling, 1997, Translation by Ingeborg Bogensberge, Vienna, in cooperation with John MMercer and Adrianne Nagy DaPonte, Boston, pp. 87-125, p. 102

BT Song 492 Let us celebrate relationship
Without relationship we cannot understand this world
And without relationship we cannot realize you
Without relationship we cannot celebrate God
And without relationship we should not even live
Whatever might be the foundation for spirituality?
And even we have relationship with you
There is no spirituality without realizing that
“Let all receive the same bliss as we have”
Did He ever create us in his image
As He cannot live alone
As He should not act individually
Did He even have the concept of Trinity?
Whatever might be our explanation, the answer is the same
And there is no other means to live on this earth
Once it become clear that without relationship there is no life or even emancipation
To glorify relationship, he came to this world as a relative [to many]
He born as a child to his parents
And grew with relatives and others
Even He called the disciple as his own relative
And always remembered even though He died on the cross
Once God himself celebrated relationship
How is it possible for us to deny it?
Celebrating relationship both here and hear after
Let us live realizing the majesty of relationship

BT Song 493
I found in the Lord a best friend with whom I need not explain myself. I also take advantage of my relationship with Him to fight, argue, demand and even threaten. Only bhakti gives this kind of freedom with Bhagavan. If I began to quote from vast Hindu bhakti literature, there won’t be any end to it. I often feel privileged to have this kind of relationship with God rather than having some kind of fear about Him. In this, according to my understanding Muktiveda helps me feel closer to God.
BT Song 493

493 Urgent litigation
I will come often to you
And will get frustrated
I will remain upset
And will complain a lot to you
Murmuring become my habit
And confronting become my nature
As I often found fault in others
Getting anger become my routine
Not only have I done this with others
But I never spared you too
Several times I have told about this to you
But it looks as if you are not doing anything about it
I become a burden to me
And become tired of carrying myself
I worn-out by sharing with you
And what else can I say to you further?
Though others share only good things to me
I find no interest in it
Though they ask to give up my evil nature
I don’t have courage to do so far
Though I put up a mask
I am constrained within me and unable to bear it
But I never hesitated to come unto you
And to share with you
Therefore, I come often unto you
And pour down my heart to you
Don’t remain silent even after understanding me
And don’t provoke me further
I told with much patience to you
And I also shouted at you
I worn-out by weeping several times
But I will never let you escape that much easily, though you remain adamant
We should reach a conclusion
And you should respond to me
Somehow you should change me
Like you
What I need to do for that
You should share that with me
Till that time, I won’t let you go
And I won’t also remain in peace
Do you now understand?
Why I come often unto you
Take this urgent litigation
And give me some verdict immediately

BT Song 494

BT Song 494

BT Song 494 this is good
“Can we claim all that we do using our intellect
Are definitely from God
And what we write with the help of our knowledge
Can we say it is the word of God?
What all the things that we compiled
And recorded as the Word of God
Does God actually came and
Taught them as His words?”
Though many such questions were debated
So many times, in the past
What is the final answer?
None has given that to us so far
Contemplating this many times within me
And raising so many questions about it
Finally, I went to God
And asked an answer for this
In order to give an answer to me
When He came within me
All the doubts were gone
But I don’t find words to convey it
When something within me
Listened to His answer
It conveyed a message
Which stands beyond words and language?
It never came within the orbit of my thinking process
And it never confined to any kind of language
How much I try, beyond this
I don’t have a mind to share further about it
But none will accept it
And how much I try to communicate they won’t believe it
Therefore, it is better to stop here
And it good for all
BT Song 495
A joyful time to celebrate with the Lord about gaining Him by losing oneself. Once we give up our ‘ego’ what a freedom that we feel within us and how close we go near to God. Though this is the most difficult thing for me to do, yet coming to His presence like a child and rejoicing in my relationship with Him helps me to overcome my ego—at least with Him.
BT Song 495

BT Song 495 I gained by losing
I lost one thing to gain you again
And the poor one came seeking your grace
This is the time for you to bestow it
And I bowed at your feet begging this to you
I melt within me to celebrate you
As “the perfect grace and the invisible one”
I came and surrendered myself to you
By singing songs praising you
You removed our sins
And threw away the curse
You redeemed us for you
And you gave yourself for that
I understood through my reason
Therefore, I worship you
I become yours through our relationship
And I got the blessed status to live in you
Now I understood one thing that
I can gain you back by losing one thing
Therefore, I took a resolution today that
I will lose me in you
The only thing that I have to lose is
The spirit of ‘ego’
And I lost that completely today
Therefore I gained you again
I will preserve you again as a treasure
Not to lose it again
There is nothing equal to it
And I don’t want to lose it again
