In the name of serving the Lord, I set so many goals only to satisfy my personal needs. Naturally, I become tired and feel exhausted when I do all these kinds of works in the name of serving the Lord. As I was thinking about it, I realized that the only goal for me as a bhakta is the Lord Himself. All other works are done only for my needs and not for the Lord. At least I should learn to slow down a bit to enjoy my relationship with the Lord in everyday life instead of running from pillar to post doing so many works in the name of seva. As I was meditating on this, I wrote this song.

Too much reading, thinking, and writing never helped me understand my heart. As I am obsessed with too much reading, the moment I complete one book, I have to start another one. Like children eagerly waiting to open a new school book, I too eagerly wait to start another book to read. Similarly, too much thinking compels me to write about it. But none of these activities help me understand my true nature except my time with the Lord. As I was meditating on this, I wrote this song.
BT Song 1099 – I Understood My Heart
Verse 1:
I’ve spoken and looked around so much,
I’ve written and read so many things.
Yet, my heart still doesn’t grasp,
Why it doesn’t shine for me.
Verse 2:
I’ve gone to others and asked,
Followed the paths they suggested.
Still, I find no answers there,
Their words do not suffice.

I’ve read countless books and searched,
Listened to elders’ wisdom.
Living like that isn’t easy,
I lack the ability for it.
