BT Song 1341
Though I enjoy the reclusive life I have longed for, some responsibilities occasionally become hurdles. Now, managing many things on my own without much help, I turn to God for assistance. I ask for patience, good health, help from unexpected sources, and peace of mind. Despite physical tiredness, I find inner peace. I wrote this song to tease God not to miss the opportunity to help me manage things now, avoiding trouble and loss for both of us.
BT Song 1341 – Simple English
Stanza 1:
Another chance has come to you,
If you help me now,
That’s all I need,
And it will be enough.
Stanza 2:
Opportunities like this,
Don’t come often,
If you miss it now,
It won’t be useful later.
Stanza 3:
Once in a billion,
You get such a chance,
When it comes,
Should you deny it?
Stanza 4:
Showing your right,
With me now,
Can you miss this chance?
Tell me honestly.
Stanza 5:
I used to think,
Only humans,
Get such chances,
But now I see.
Stanza 6:
When the need came,
To me this time,
It also applies to you,
I understand now.
Stanza 7:
Don’t think,
This is just,
The same lament,
I always make.
Stanza 8:
Don’t miss,
This opportunity,
By giving,
Any excuses.
Stanza 9:
If you miss this chance,
It will be my loss,
Don’t forget,
This as well.
Stanza 10:
Though many troubles,
Have come my way,
I never,
Incurred a loss.
Stanza 11:
If I incur any loss,
It will be trouble for you,
Don’t forget,
This too.
Stanza 12:
You’ve suffered enough,
For my sake,
Don’t suffer,
Just for me.
Stanza 13:
To avoid both,
Loss and trouble,
Don’t miss,
This opportunity.

BT Song 1341 – Classical English
Stanza 1:
Another chance hath come to thee,
If thou dost aid in this regard,
It shall suffice entirely,
And be more than enough by far.
Stanza 2:
Such opportunities rare doth appear,
Seldom do they come to thee,
If thou dost miss this moment dear,
In vain it shall ever be.
Stanza 3:
Once in a billion such a chance,
Doth upon thee gently fall,
When it cometh, dost thou glance,
Away and thus deny it all?
Stanza 4:
Showing forth thy rightful claim,
With me thou dost engage,
Canst thou let this chance go lame?
Tell me, speak in earnest sage.
Stanza 5:
Heretofore I thought in vain,
Only man doth gain such grace,
Now in need I see again,
This truth applieth to thy face.
Stanza 6:
When need upon me doth impend,
The same on thee doth surely lay,
I now perceive, my worthy friend,
This understanding clear as day.
Stanza 7:
Do not deem this lamentation,
The same old sorrow I impart,
Thou must heed this invocation,
From the depths within my heart.
Stanza 8:
Miss not this chance with trifling reason,
Proffer not excuses mild,
Seize this rare and fleeting season,
Lest it be forever exiled.
Stanza 9:
If thou dost miss this precious time,
Loss to me it shall bestow,
Remember this in every clime,
Forget it not, this truth doth glow.
Stanza 10:
Though myriad troubles have assailed,
Loss ne’er have I once sustained,
Yet if such loss on me prevailed,
Troubles for thee shall be ordained.
Stanza 11:
If loss befall, it then doth follow,
Troubles shall on thee be cast,
Forget not this, ’tis not hollow,
This truth in thy mind hold fast.
Stanza 12:
Thou hast suffered much for me,
Enough of pain for mine own sake,
Endure no more such agony,
For thine own peace, this chance now take.
Stanza 13:
To avoid both loss and sorrow,
Grasp this chance with all thy might,
Miss not this moment nor tomorrow,
In it lies our mutual light.

BT Song 1342
This tussle between God and me will likely continue until the end of my life. While I accept whatever happens as His will, as a bhakta, I constantly question Him on many things. Though He always gives the same answers, our debate is far from over.
BT Song 1342 – Simple English
Stanza 1:
Whatever you do,
It’s your own will,
If I ask ‘why,’
It’s my mistake still.
Stanza 2:
Thinking of your will,
I lament deep inside,
And thinking of my mistake,
In trouble, I abide.
Stanza 3:
There’s no use,
In lament or distress,
It’s not easy for me,
To understand your will, I confess.
Stanza 4:
In one way, it’s good,
Not to understand it all,
Even if I did,
What change could I call?
Stanza 5:
But one thing I know,
Surely and clear,
I’ve understood you,
Without any fear.
Stanza 6:
Whatever your will,
What does it mean to me?
I remain your devotee,
And what will I miss, truly?
Stanza 7:
So whatever you do,
I give my consent,
In advance, I agree,
With no dissent.
Stanza 8:
But I just asked you,
The reason, the cause,
For doing what you do,
Without any pause.
Stanza 9:
After completing your work,
And showing the end,
You’ll say the reason,
My understanding to mend.
Stanza 10:
Whatever the result,
You’ll ask me to see,
Only the benefits,
That came to me.
Stanza 11:
You also asked,
In what have I lacked,
So far in my life,
Which I haven’t tracked.
Stanza 12:
Is it my will’s mistake,
Or your lamentation’s part,
You’ll tell me to ponder,
Deep in my heart.
Stanza 13:
Therefore, you’ll tell,
Me to hush and hear,
And only listen,
To you, my dear.
Stanza 14:
But I cannot,
Keep my mouth still,
And your will won’t change,
Despite my will.
Stanza 15:
Therefore, there’ll never be,
An end to this fight,
The tussle between us,
Day and night.
Gurukulam, 9-2-2022, 11.00 pm.
BT Song 1342 – Classical English
Stanza 1:
Whatsoever thou dost,
‘Tis thy sovereign will,
If I inquire ‘why,’
‘Tis my mistake still.
Stanza 2:
Pondering thy will,
In lament I dwell,
And pondering my error,
In trouble I swell.
Stanza 3:
No profit is there,
In lament or distress,
‘Tis not easy for me,
Thy will to assess.
Stanza 4:
In one sense ’tis good,
Not to fathom thy plan,
Even if I comprehended,
What change by my hand?
Stanza 5:
Yet one thing I grasp,
With clarity bright,
I have comprehended thee,
In fullest light.
Stanza 6:
Whatsoever thy will,
What import to me?
I remain thy devotee,
What loss could there be?
Stanza 7:
So whate’er thou dost,
I grant my assent,
In advance, I concede,
Without discontent.
Stanza 8:
Yet I did inquire,
The reason, the cause,
For thy actions’ course,
Without any pause.
Stanza 9:
Upon completing thy work,
And showing the end,
Thou’lt reveal the reason,
For my mind to amend.
Stanza 10:
Whate’er the outcome,
Thou’lt bid me to see,
Only the gains,
That have come unto me.
Stanza 11:
Thou hast also inquired,
Wherein have I lacked,
In all my days,
That remain unchecked.
Stanza 12:
Is it my will’s fault,
Or thine own lament?
Thou’lt tell me to ponder,
With heart’s true intent.
Stanza 13:
Therefore, thou’lt bid me,
To silence my tongue,
And hearken solely,
To thee among.
Stanza 14:
Yet I cannot keep,
My lips still and mute,
And thy will remains,
Resolute and absolute.
Stanza 15:
Thus, there shall never be,
An end to our strife,
The tussle between us,
Throughout our life.

BT Song 1343
Today, the helpers didn’t come as they had to attend a family function. Seven years ago, I managed everyday life and the ashram without help for several weeks. But now, the situation has changed. My primary fear is what if my mother falls and I can’t lift her alone? So, I took extra care today, performing regular tasks slowly to avoid accidents. Giving my mother a bath required careful precautions. These extra efforts took a toll on my body. At night, I reflected on how the Lord provided strength and inner peace throughout the day. Compared to the trials others face, mine seem minimal. God’s grace and encouragement helped me carry out normal life with peace. In my prayer, I thanked Him for the hope and inspiration, writing this song as a reflection and gratitude.
BT Song 1343 – Simple English
Stanza 1:
When I depend
Completely on you,
Hope will arise
In my heart, true.
Stanza 2:
When no one is there
To offer a hand,
I will find strength
As you help me stand.
Stanza 3:
Though there are
Thousands of reasons,
For me to feel tired,
In trying seasons.
Stanza 4:
There surely is
A reason to fight,
To overcome trials,
And emerge in the light.
Stanza 5:
When your protection
Surrounds me tight,
Your grace gives me
Courage and might.
Stanza 6:
No chance exists
For any defeat,
You did not redeem me
To face retreat.
Stanza 7:
Trials may cause
Some bodily pain,
When they appear,
Strength may wane.
Stanza 8:
Seeing the body’s
Weary state,
The heart may also
Hesitate.
Stanza 9:
But the grace and peace
You bestow,
Give strength to my spirit,
Make it grow.
Stanza 10:
No new trials
Have come my way,
That others haven’t
Faced each day.
Stanza 11:
But you never limit
The grace you provide,
Your boundless mercy,
You won’t hide.
Stanza 12:
With you beside me,
To lend your aid,
No trial will ever
Make me afraid.
Stanza 13:
As long as support
For the vine is there,
It never falls,
No matter the air.
Gurukulam, 10-2-2022, 11.15 p.m.
BT Song 1343 – Classical English
Stanza 1:
When I wholly depend
On thee alone,
Hope shall arise
In my heart, well-known.
Stanza 2:
When no one is near
To lend aid, sincere,
Strength thou grantest,
My spirit to steer.
Stanza 3:
Though myriad reasons
Exist to tire,
Amidst the trials,
Thou dost inspire.
Stanza 4:
Verily, there is
A reason to strive,
To conquer the trials,
And keep hope alive.
Stanza 5:
When thy protection
Encircles me round,
Thy grace imparts
Courage profound.
Stanza 6:
No room for defeat
In thy grand design,
Thou didst not redeem me
For loss to enshrine.
Stanza 7:
Trials may burden
This body of mine,
But in their coming,
I shall not pine.
Stanza 8:
Seeing the body’s
Fatigue and wear,
The heart might falter,
Bereft of cheer.
Stanza 9:
Yet the grace and peace
Thou dost bestow,
Strengthen my spirit,
Make it grow.
Stanza 10:
No trial new
To me doth appear,
That others have not
Already known here.
Stanza 11:
Thou settest no bounds
To thy grace’s extent,
Thy mercies are vast,
From heaven sent.
Stanza 12:
With thee beside me,
As my steadfast friend,
No trial shall conquer,
No fear shall bend.
Stanza 13:
As long as the vine
Support doth find,
It never shall fall,
‘Neath tempest or wind.

BT Song 1344
In today’s reading of the Uttaraveda (NT), I came across 2 Peter 2:22. The verse about a dog returning to its vomit struck me as a noble advice for everyone. We must fight many unwanted things in life, but when it comes to temptation and unnecessary thoughts, it’s better to flee than confront them with vain courage. Inspired by this, I wrote this song as my reflection.
BT Song 1344 – Simple English
Stanza 1:
Like the animal
Rolling back in mud,
After being washed,
In the dirty flood.
Stanza 2:
Like the bird
Caught in the net,
From which it escaped,
Feeling regret.
Stanza 3:
Is there any fool
In this wide world,
Who loses freedom,
After it’s unfurled?
Stanza 4:
Shall one long for
A life not wanted,
Which she gave up,
Feeling haunted?
Stanza 5:
Once bitten by it,
Losing one’s mind,
Shall one again
In it, comfort find?
Stanza 6:
When unwanted thoughts
And actions chase,
Shall we seek them,
In a frantic race?
Stanza 7:
Can one chew them
Again and again,
Thinking they fight
To ease the pain?
Stanza 8:
Don’t become
Like a dog that’s sick,
Licking its vomit,
It’s not a trick.
Stanza 9:
Don’t live like a fool,
Stepping once more,
On excrement,
You abhor.
Stanza 10:
When the time comes
To run and flee,
We must escape,
From misery.
Stanza 11:
If we seek
Unnecessary fight,
We pay a price,
In the night.
Stanza 12:
No profit comes
From false courage,
Opposing it,
Is self-discouraged.
Stanza 13:
One hides
When necessary,
Then alone
Strikes adversary.
Stanza 14:
Understanding this
And thinking right,
Guard the freedom,
With all your might.
Gurukulam, 13-02-2022, 10.30 p.m.
BT Song 1344 – Classical English
Stanza 1:
Like the creature
Rolling back in mire,
After being cleansed,
In filth entire.
Stanza 2:
Like the bird
Caught once more,
In the net,
It escaped before.
Stanza 3:
Is there a fool
In this vast sphere,
Who loses freedom,
Once held dear?
Stanza 4:
Shall one long for
Life once discarded,
Which she renounced,
Feeling bombarded?
Stanza 5:
Once bitten by it,
And losing wit,
Shall one again,
In it submit?
Stanza 6:
When unwanted thoughts
And deeds pursue,
Shall we seek them,
As if they’re new?
Stanza 7:
Can one chew them
Time and again,
Thinking in battle,
They ease the pain?
Stanza 8:
Become not like the dog,
That in sickness dire,
Licks its own vomit,
From muck and mire.
Stanza 9:
Live not as a fool,
Stepping once more,
On the excrement,
You deplore.
Stanza 10:
When the time arrives
To take flight,
We must depart,
From the blight.
Stanza 11:
If we seek
Needless strife,
We pay dearly,
With our life.
Stanza 12:
No gain arises
From false pride,
Opposing thus,
Will not abide.
Stanza 13:
One hides away
When need is great,
Then alone
Can strike the fate.
Stanza 14:
Perceive this truth,
And think with care,
Guard the freedom
With fervent prayer.
Gurukulam, 13-02-2022, 10.30 p.m.
BT Song 1345
A Tamil bhakti saint once said, “The days in which I didn’t sing about you are unborn days for me.” I feel the same. My desire is to sing one song each day, but that is often impossible. Writing poems helps me concentrate my thoughts on the Lord, making it the best form of meditation for me, despite my struggles to express my inner joy through them. Nevertheless, the Lord understands my joy, and I rejoice with Him in this mutual understanding.
BT Song 1345 – Simple English
Stanza 1:
Whether I tell
In writing or speech,
You will understand
My heart’s reach.
Stanza 2:
But when I
Use written word,
The emphasis
Is clearly heard.
Stanza 3:
If I let my mind
Roam as it likes,
It will wander far,
With no guiding spikes.
Stanza 4:
However I try
To bring it back,
By all means,
It stays on its track.
Stanza 5:
But when I try
To control it through writing,
Slowly it comes
Under my guiding.
Stanza 6:
If there’s no other
Benefit from writing,
It helps me meditate,
On you, inviting.
Stanza 7:
Therefore I often
Write like this,
Sharing with you
Some thoughts and bliss.
Stanza 8:
I refuse to lose
The golden chance,
That writing brings,
In its stance.
Stanza 9:
But I struggle much,
Unable to share,
The inner joy
Writing lays bare.
Stanza 10:
Yet I rejoice,
For there’s no need,
As you understand
Every word and deed.
Stanza 11:
So again, I write
This song anew,
And complete today’s
Journey in you.
Gurukulam, 15-2-2022, 11.10 p.m.
BT Song 1345 – Classical English
Stanza 1:
Whether in script
Or unwritten ways,
You comprehend
My heart’s displays.
Stanza 2:
Yet when I
Employ the pen,
The emphasis
Increases then.
Stanza 3:
If I let my mind
Wander free,
It roams afar,
With no decree.
Stanza 4:
Though I endeavor
To control its flight,
By myriad means,
It resists my might.
Stanza 5:
But through writing,
I gain command,
Slowly it yields
To my hand.
Stanza 6:
If no other
Merit is found,
It aids my meditation,
Profound.
Stanza 7:
Thus, I often
Write in this way,
Sharing with you
Thoughts that sway.
Stanza 8:
I refuse to lose
The golden gleam,
That writing brings
To my dream.
Stanza 9:
Yet I struggle
To convey,
The inner joy
Words can’t display.
Stanza 10:
But I rejoice,
No need to stress,
For you grasp
My heart’s express.
Stanza 11:
Thus again, I write
This tune,
And end today’s
Reflection, soon.
Gurukulam, 15-2-2022, 11.10 p.m.
BT Song 1341 நழுவ விடாதே

Stanza 8:
இதன்மூலம் வருகின்ற
பொன்னான வாய்ப்பைக்
கைவிட்டுப் போக
நானும் மறுக்கிறேன்
Stanza 9:
அத்தோடு அதுதரும்
உள்ளான ஆனந்தம்
அதைமட்டும் சொல்ல
முடியாமல் தவிக்கிறேன்
Stanza 10:
ஆயினும் அதற்கும்
அவசியம் இல்லாமல்
நீயதைப் புரிந்து
நானும் களிக்கிறேன்
Stanza 11:
ஆகவே மீண்டும்
இப்பாட்டை எழுதி
இந்நாளின் ஒட்டத்தை
உன்னிடம் முடிக்கிறேன்
