BT Songs 1431 to 1435

 BT Song 1431

As taking care of my mother becomes more and more challenging due to my own ailments and lack of sleep, the present helper has also become sick and unable to help much. I am left alone to handle everything, and it seems God is also standing by and watching my ordeal instead of stepping in to help. In such a situation, crying is the only option and solution left for me, which I have been doing.

BT Song 1431: I have to cry [Simple English]

1.

Even if I cry,

I will find comfort.

What else can I do

other than that?

2.

Without offering comfort,

where did you go?

Oh God, why have you

forgotten me?

3.

My heart is in pain,

not knowing what to do.

No one else is there

to give me comfort.

4.

Without coming to you,

there is no other way.

Why are you delaying?

At least tell me that.

5.

The freedom I seek

should come quickly.

There is a reason for it,

you should understand it.

6.

There is no use

in delaying it.

Give it quickly

and save me.

7.

Even after saying all this,

if you remain indifferent,

there is nothing else

left to say.

8.

When you are there

to understand before I speak,

why do you act

as if you don’t understand?

9.

Even if I say it,

you don’t understand,

you seem like

an ordinary human.

10.

Though you came

to this earth as a man,

you are always God,

will you deny that?

11.

Can you deny yourself?

Is it possible for you?

Can you push me away

without accepting me?

12.

Do you not hear my voice?

Are your ears dull?

Do you not see my state?

Are your eyes blind?

13.

With a soft heart

and hands that don’t bless,

are you, God,

like a stone?

14.

Even after saying all this,

if you do not bless,

can I remain

without crying?

BT Song 1432

Unless a bud blossoms naturally, it cannot spread its fragrance in the air. Similarly, unless a devotee is touched by the grace of God when she sits calmly in His presence, all her reading, thinking, and discussions cannot bring about the change within her. As I was contemplating this and often experiencing the importance of remaining silent before God, I wrote this song.

BT Song 1432: Will Blossom Naturally (Simple English)

How much we read

or think about God,

He won’t come

seeking us by those efforts.

How much we wander

seeking Him in other places,

He will never come to us,

seeking after us.

How many religions

might we create,

How many rituals

might be in them,

Not impressed by them

and trapped in them,

He will never come to us

with much eagerness.

Not doing anything,

not seeking anything,

It is enough if we

remain silent before Him.

Knowing our need,

He will come to us,

And in a gentle voice

He will talk to us.

Therefore, in order to

listen to Him,

We should keep quiet,

not frustrated.

Not questioning Him

before He speaks,

And not arguing

after He shares.

Having simplicity in soul,

humility in heart,

purity in mind,

and if we worship,

He will explain

the meaning of His words,

And He will make us act

to implement it in life.

When the bud

blossoms naturally,

It will bring fragrance

by mingling in the air.

Similarly, when

our life is touched by Him,

It will also bring fragrance

by worshipping His feet.

Gurukulam, 14-9-2022, 11.45 p.m.

BT Song 1432: Will Blossom Naturally (Classical English)

However much we read

or ponder upon God,

He shan’t come

seeking us by those efforts.

However much we wander

seeking Him in other places,

He shall never come to us,

seeking after us.

How many religions

might we create,

How many rituals

might they contain,

Not impressed by them

nor ensnared in them,

He shall never come to us

with fervent desire.

Doing nothing,

seeking nothing,

‘Tis enough if we

remain silent before Him.

Knowing our need,

He shall come to us,

And in a gentle voice

He shall speak to us.

Therefore, to hear Him,

we must keep quiet,

Not frustrated,

nor disturbed.

Not questioning Him

before He speaks,

And not contending

after He shares.

With simplicity in spirit,

humility in heart,

purity in mind,

and in worship,

He shall reveal

the meaning of His words,

And He shall move us to act,

to fulfill them in life.

When the bud

blossoms naturally,

It shall spread its fragrance

mingling with the air.

Likewise, when

our lives are touched by Him,

They too shall bring fragrance

by worshipping His feet.

Gurukulam, 14-9-2022, 11.45 p.m.

BT Song 1433

My mother fell down again on the night of October 1st. As there was no one else, I rushed to lift her on my own and injured my left shoulder, where there is a pacemaker. This caused me a lot of pain. Unable to lift her on my own, I called our helper’s family, and three of them came to assist. Until they arrived, my mother remained lying between the cot and the table, and I felt very bad as I couldn’t lift her from the cold floor. For the next few days, I suffered from pain in my right elbow as well. I thought of finding some other alternatives to take care of my mother, but none of them worked, and I returned to square one. I wouldn’t mind keeping my mother in the ashram to take care of her. However, considering my health and lack of proper support, particularly at night, it will remain a constant challenge for me in the days to come. So, tonight when I was discussing this issue with the Lord, inspiration came, and I wrote the next three songs as usual, arguing with Him to accept my decision as His will rather than pushing me to follow His will. As I often say, it is very difficult for Him to remain God for me as I demand too much from Him in the name of devotion.

BT Song 1433 Why Take a Separate Path

Simple English

In opposite directions,

If two go on their way,

How can they together,

Travel along one path?

To walk along with me,

As I tell you, my friend,

How can you come along,

On a path that you bend?

My path I understand,

Yours, you know alone,

How can anyone say,

Which way to be shown?

How can anyone know,

What your way could be?

How can one, with courage,

Walk along easily?

Where will twists and turns,

In this journey, be found?

Where must one be careful,

And steadily be bound?

Walking my own path,

I have found my way,

From journeys before,

I can understand today.

But will your path,

Be the same as mine?

Will others but you,

Know it well, in line?

If blindfolded and left,

In the forest to roam,

Could you really walk,

And find your way home?

You say you are with me,

But when need arises,

You swiftly depart,

With sudden surprises.

When asked why you act,

In such a strange manner,

You say it’s a test,

A challenge to banner.

Who needs these trials,

This testing of fate?

Why must I endure,

This needless debate?

So far, these tests,

Have proven not a thing,

Why continue to test,

What more will they bring?

So come as before,

Walk along my path,

And make it your wish,

To follow with faith.

After becoming,

A true devotee,

Why take a separate path?

It won’t serve you, you’ll see.

Gurukulam, 7-10-2022, Night, 10.45 p.m.

BT Song 1433: Why Need for a Separate Way

Classical English

If we both traverse,

in opposing directions,

How then shall we journey

together as one?

Ne’er did I ask thee

to follow my way,

How then canst thou bid me

to tread upon thine?

My path I know well,

it’s clear to my sight,

But thy way alone

is known only to thee.

How can one venture

with courage to tread,

When the way that thou knowest

is hidden from me?

Wherefore the turns

and the bends on the path,

Where I must be cautious,

I know not at all.

My path, I know,

I’ve trodden it oft,

And well do I understand

my own journey’s course.

But shall thy way remain

unchanged as it is?

Has anyone else known

its twists and its turns?

Blindfolded, thou bidst me

to walk through a forest,

Pray, tell me, is such

a thing even possible?

Thou promiseth always

to be by my side,

Yet when a need arises,

thou fleest from me.

If I ask thee, “Why hast thou

acted thus?”

Thou wilt say, “I was testing thee,

it was but a trial.”

Who needs thy tests,

this pain that thou bringst?

Why must I endure

this unnecessary grief?

What new thing wilt thou gain

that thou hast not before,

By testing me yet again,

pray, tell me this?

Therefore, as always,

come walk on my path,

And shape it according

to thy divine will.

Once I have become

thy devoted bhakta,

Why needest thou then

a separate way for thyself?

BT Song 1434 Walk Along My Path

Simple English

When my path is easy,

To walk without worry,

Why do you insist,

On taking your path in a hurry?

Like a royal highway,

My path will be,

Many can walk it,

With space comfortably.

No rugged terrain,

Or thorns in the way,

It’s easy to walk,

And reach the end of the day.

Straight like a line,

Is the path I tread,

Walking along,

Without any dread.

In this journey,

There’s no fear to face,

No need for a companion,

To keep up the pace.

So come with me,

If you join my course,

No harm will come,

No troubles will force.

Why is your path,

So narrow and tight?

Why tell me this,

And not seek the light?

With countless twists,

And bends so numerous,

Who would walk it,

With courage continuous?

You say you’ll walk,

Alongside me still,

But midway you’ll stray,

And lead me to chill.

Have I to continue,

Or turn back midway,

Leaving me lost,

And confused in dismay?

What kind of game,

Are you playing with me?

You say it’s your habit,

To act so capriciously.

So waste not your time,

On a path unknown,

Listen to the devotee,

And follow what’s shown.

Once you are part,

Of my own being,

There’ll be no more paths,

To walk separately seeing.

Gurukulam, 7-10-2022, Night, 11.30 p.m.

BT Song 1434: Come My Way

Classical English

If my way be easy

and smooth for the feet,

Why should I then come

to walk upon thine?

As a royal highway,

my path shall be broad,

Room enough for many

to walk side by side.

No rugged or rough path,

nor stones nor thorns,

Shall mar the ease

of the journey we take.

All who walk upon it

shall find it simple,

And surely reach

the town at the end.

Straight as a line,

my path shall run,

And pleasant it shall be

to tread thereon.

No fear shall there be

in this journey of ours,

And no need for any

to walk by our side.

Therefore, come with me,

there shall be no danger,

To thee at all,

if thou followest my way.

Behold thine own path,

how narrow it is,

Why should it be so,

pray, tell me this?

Twists and turns

a thousand there are,

Who will walk thereon

with courage in heart?

Thou mayest say

thou wilt walk with me,

Yet in the midst,

thou turnest away.

Should I continue

or turn back in doubt,

Thou leavest me

bewildered and lost.

If I ask thee,

“What is this game?”

Thou wilt say,

“This is but my custom.”

So waste not thy time

upon thine own path,

Listen to what

thy devotee doth say.

Once I have mingled

my way with thine,

What difference remains

‘twixt thy path and mine?

BT Song 1435 Your Path is Good

Simple English

A one-way path,

Is the way you show,

That itself is my worry,

Which I do know.

To boldly enter,

Is not possible for me,

Once in, there’s no turning,

No way to be free.

To find one way,

Many paths you reveal,

So says your scripture,

Its words to seal.

No alternative way,

Can I see before,

Entering your mind,

I understand more.

To get caught in your net,

Words you have laid,

With many a promise,

And vows you made.

For others, many paths,

Open and free,

But for me alone,

It’s closed completely.

Did you close the door,

To prevent escape,

Locking the entrance,

With no further shape?

When I knocked,

It opened wide,

Entering, you locked,

The latch inside.

Both ways are good,

I say with a smile,

For you stay with me,

And walk every mile.

No return path for you,

No escape to find,

Together we stay,

Bound in mind.

Thus, your one way,

For me is always best,

For it leads me to you,

In peace and rest.

Gurukulam, 8-10-2022, Night, 12.30 a.m.

BT Song 1435: Thy Way is Good

Classical English

As a one-way path,

thy way doth lie,

And that itself

is my constant worry.

To step in with courage,

is a feat most hard,

And once within,

no way to return.

To reach one end,

many paths do open,

Thy scriptures do say,

yet I have not seen.

Until now, no other

way have I found,

And as I step in,

I grasp thy mind.

Lest I be caught

in thy cunning snare,

Thou hast laid before me

many a word.

When other paths

open to others,

To me alone,

they remain closed.

Dost thou fear I might escape,

and thus hast closed the door,

Through which I entered,

and locked it fast?

If both ways are thus,

I say it is good,

For thou art with me,

though thou turnest back.

So for thee as well,

there is no way back,

And no chance at all

to flee from this path.

Thus, thy one-way path,

is good for me,

For it remains forever

my only way.
