BT Songs 1446 to 1450

BT Song 1446

Another tussle with God. But this time, I challenged Him: when He has all the power and authority, He need not lament like me. At the same time, I recognize that sometimes it is very difficult to remain as God. He knows what we go through, but we never know what it means to remain God. However, bhakti helps to reach out to God for every issue in life, whether He listens to us or not.

BT Song 1446 I Won’t Let You Go

 Simple English Version:

1

When you haven’t listened

To me all this time,

What’s the use of

Asking any more?

2

“If you say something new,

I’ll listen to you,

But if you just complain,

What else can I do?”

3

I can hear

What you say,

But this too

Becomes your lament.

4

When both our situations

Become the same,

Who will speak,

And who will listen?

5

Where did you get

This kind of frustration?

Is it hard

To remain as God?

6

When you have

All authority,

How did this

Frustration come to you?

7

If you lament

For this,

What would you do

If you were like me?

8

Alright, let it be,

What can I do?

It’s indeed difficult

To remain as God.

9

As you know

What it’s like to be human,

How can I know

What it’s like to be God?

10

If I face

All these troubles,

What can I say

About you?

11

At the same time,

I cannot

Let you go

So easily.

12

Whether you listen or not,

That’s your problem.

But I won’t stop

Asking you.

Gurukulam, 5-11-2022, 11.00

BT Song 1446 I Won’t Let You Go

 Classical English Version:

1

When you did not

Hearken to my words till now,

Where lies the worth

In asking you once more?

2

“If you speak anew,

I shall attend,

But if you lament as before,

What else may I do?”

3

Thy words I hear,

Yet this too

Hath turned to lamentation

In thine own tongue.

4

When both our states

Have thus aligned,

Who shall speak,

And who shall listen?

5

Whence came this

Doleful frustration?

Hath it become arduous

To dwell as a deity?

6

Though thou possess

Power and rule,

How hath this weariness

Overtaken thee?

7

If thou dost lament

For this small plight,

What of thy state

Were thou in my stead?

8

So be it, let it pass,

What can be done?

Indeed, ‘tis hard

To remain as God.

9

Since thou dost know

The plight of man,

How can I perceive

The life of God?

10

Should I endure

These manifold woes,

What words have I

To speak of thee?

11

Yet, in this hour,

I cannot part

With thee so lightly,

Nor let thee go.

12

To hearken or to disregard,

It is thine own plight,

But cease I shall not

From asking thee.

Gurukulam, 5-11-2022, 11.00

Song BT 1447

I felt sorry for God as He has to listen to all my lamentations these days. So, for a change, to give Him some relaxation, I wrote this song again in Viraha bhava (love in separation).

BT Song 1447 You Should Accomplish

 Simple English Version:

1

No matter how many excuses

You might give,

My heart won’t accept them.

You should understand this.

2

Even if you give

Thousands of explanations,

They won’t help you

In any way.

3

Being alone

Is not new to me,

And you should

Remember this first.

4

You should fulfill your promise

That you will be with me

At least

Once in my life.

5

Is it right to think,

Since I am an innocent woman,

You can do whatever you like?

No, it’s not.

6

I am worn out,

I am tired.

Do you not

Know about this?

7

On one side,

The cool wind torments me,

On the other side,

My body burns within.

8

Oh my Lord,

As you delay further,

I become frustrated

Each day.

9

If one has

Strength in mind,

She can postpone

The body’s needs.

10

But I cannot

Give up the needs of my heart

That easily

In my life.

11

So stop giving

Any more excuses,

And do not ignore

My tears.

12

To get the bliss

Of devotion every day,

You should stay with me,

Never leaving for a second.

13

You should accomplish

The promise you made

That you will never leave me

Or forsake me.

Gurukulam, 10-11-2022, 10.30 p.m.

BT Song 1447 You Should Accomplish

 Classical English Version:

1

How many excuses

Thou might proffer,

My heart shall not accept them.

This thou must understand.

2

Though thou givest

A thousand explanations,

They shall avail thee

Naught in any way.

3

To be alone

Is no new trial to me,

And this thou shouldst

Remember well.

4

Thou shouldst fulfill thy vow

To abide with me

At least

Once in my lifetime.

5

Is it just to deem,

That because I am an innocent maid,

Thou canst do as thou wilt?

Nay, it is not so.

6

I am wearied,

I am fatigued.

Dost thou not

Know of this?

7

On one hand,

The cool wind torments me,

Whilst on the other,

My body burns within.

8

Added to this, O my Lord,

As thou delayest further,

I grow frustrated

With each passing day.

9

If one’s mind

Hath strength,

She may postpone

The body’s desires.

10

But I cannot

Forsake the needs of my heart

So easily

In this life.

11

Therefore, cease

Thy excuses,

And disregard not

My tears.

12

To attain the rapture

Of devotion each day,

Thou must dwell with me,

Never parting for a moment.

13

Thou shouldst accomplish

The vow thou gavest,

That thou wouldst never leave me

Nor forsake me.

Gurukulam, 10-11-2022, 10.30 p.m.

BT Song 1448

As my mother’s condition began to worsen and all my alternative arrangements failed to take care of her, not knowing what to do further and unable to handle the present challenges alone, I wrote this song. I asked God to either step in to help me in the present situation or be ready to face my further lamentations.

BT Song 1448 Better You Decide

 Simple English Version:

1

Did you also

Not know my troubles?

Let me share

And you listen to me.

2

Why have you

Redeemed me?

I cannot struggle

Alone anymore.

3

When I wanted to

Sing and praise you,

My heart asks,

“Why do it?”

4

Its nature is known,

But its question

Remains

Correct.

5

Though I came

To struggle on this earth,

What can one say if

Life itself becomes a struggle?

6

Is there any

Oasis in my life

Like in the desert?

Better you think about it.

7

I never said

You did nothing for me,

So far.

8

But what use is it

For a hungry person

To remember the feast

He had in the past?

9

All I accumulated

Is not helping now,

Those who promised to help

Are unable to now.

10

It is not good

For you to delay further,

Now you must act,

There’s no other way.

11

If you listen to me

And act,

My troubles will

Lessen.

12

Refusing to help,

If you delay further,

It will become

Another trouble for me.

13

Then songs like this

Will come

And give

Lots of trouble to you.

14

If my troubles stop,

Yours will stop too,

So you alone should decide

Which one to choose.

Gurukulam, 14-11-2002, 10.30 p.m.

BT Song 1448 Better You Decide

 Classical English Version:

1

Dost thou not know

My troubles?

Let me share,

And thou shalt listen.

2

Why hast thou

Redeemed me?

I cannot struggle

Alone anymore.

3

When I wished to

Sing and praise thee,

My heart queries,

“Wherefore do it?”

4

Its nature is known,

Yet its question

Remains

Correct.

5

Though I came

To struggle on this earth,

What can one say if

Life itself becomes a struggle?

6

Is there an oasis

In my life,

As in the desert?

Better thou think upon it.

7

I never said

Thou didst nothing for me,

Thus far.

8

But what use

For a hungry soul

To recall the feast

He had in days gone by?

9

All I accumulated

Avails me naught now,

Those who promised aid

Cannot help now.

10

It is not meet

For thee to delay further,

Now thou must act,

There is no alternative.

11

If thou listen

And act,

My troubles will

Diminish.

12

Refusing to aid,

If thou delayest further,

It shall become

Another woe for me.

13

Then songs like these

Shall come

And bring

Great trouble to thee.

14

If my troubles cease,

Thine shall cease too,

So thou alone must decide

Which path to choose.

Gurukulam, 14-11-2002, 10.30 p.m.

Song 1449

Several times, I never utter any words in prayer. I won’t even sing any song but will silently commune with God in my atman. I often like this kind of sadhana, which I share by writing poems like this.

BT Song 1449 I Talk in Silence

 Simple English Version:

1

If I tell you,

You say that

I am

Babbling.

2

If others tell you about me,

You refuse to accept it,

But you refuse to

Give up your stubbornness.

3

If I tell you to

“Do whatever you like,”

You rebuke me, saying,

“Don’t mock me.”

4

If I remain silent,

Not talking with you,

Then you blame me, saying

I’ve become stiff-necked.

5

All the troubles

That I undergo,

Surely no one else on earth

Would be facing.

6

When others are

Worshiping you just

For the name’s sake,

Whether you listen or not.

7

I won’t waste

My words in the name of

Prayers and

Worship.

8

Going beyond all the

Limitations of language,

I will commune with you

Within my soul.

9

There is no name

For that commune,

And there is no need

For a name.

10

There is no need for me

To list all my needs,

As you commune with me,

Abiding within me.

Gurukulam, 19-11-2022, 11.00 p.m.

BT Song 1449 I Talk in Silence

 Classical English Version:

1

If I speak,

Thou sayest that

I am

Babbling.

2

If others speak of me,

Thou dost refuse to accept it,

Yet thou refusest to

Forsake thy stubbornness.

3

If I say to thee,

“Do as thou wilt,”

Thou rebukest me, saying,

“Mock me not.”

4

If I keep silence,

And speak not with thee,

Then thou dost accuse me, saying

I have become stiff-necked.

5

All the troubles

I endure,

Surely none other on earth

Would face.

6

When others are

Worshiping thee

In name only,

Whether thou listen or not.

7

I shall not waste

My words in the guise of

Prayers and

Worship.

8

Surpassing the bounds

Of all language,

I shall commune with thee

Within my soul.

9

There is no name

For such communion,

Nor is there a need

For one.

10

There is no need for me

To enumerate my needs,

As thou dost commune with me,

Abiding within.

Gurukulam, 19-11-2022, 11.00 p.m.

BT Song 1450

Again, a deep meditation sitting at the feet of God, enjoying Her presence alone, sharing my struggles, and rejoicing in bhakti, which provides the best antidote for all the anxieties in life. However, I try to narrate such experiences. Others cannot understand unless they, too, go through a similar relationship with God, seeking His presence and becoming one with Her.

 BT Song 1450 Singular Bliss

 Simple English Version:

1

There is a certain bliss

That no one else knows,

How to explain it

So anyone understands?

2

Sitting alone,

Grasping the rhythm,

Only then will

They understand.

3

When one reaches

The state of devotion’s bliss,

All worldly troubles

Vanish like mist.

4

The mind becomes clear,

The intellect understands,

And the feelings of the heart

Also become clear.

5

Life passes by,

Filled with countless worries,

Thinking about them,

Life just slips away.

6

Without answers,

Without dawn,

With suffering,

The heart withers.

7

Realizing that He

Is there as a companion,

Sharing sorrows

At His feet,

8

The burden of the mind

Gradually lessens,

And then ecstasy

Comes to life.

9

Immersed in that state,

Bringing joy,

Adorning the divine feet

With flowers of devotion,

10

Such a unique bliss

Comes to life,

Seeking solitude,

And reaching Him.

Gurukulam, 27-11-2022, 3.00 am.

 BT Song 1450 Singular Bliss

 Classical English Version:

1

There is a bliss

That none else may know,

How might it be explained

So others understand?

2

Sitting alone,

Grasping the rhythm,

Only then will

They comprehend.

3

When one attains

Devotion’s blissful state,

All earthly troubles

Dissolve like mist.

4

The mind grows clear,

The intellect perceives,

And the heart’s feelings

Also clarify.

5

Life passes by,

Full of countless worries,

Contemplating them,

Life ebbs away.

6

Without answers,

Without dawn,

With suffering,

The heart wilts.

7

Knowing that He

Is there as a companion,

Confiding sorrows

At His feet,

8

The mind’s burden

Gradually lightens,

And then ecstasy

Springs to life.

9

In that state immersed,

Bringing joy,

Adorning the divine feet

With flowers of praise,

10

Such singular bliss

Comes forth,

In solitude sought,

And in Him found.

Gurukulam, 27-11-2022, 3.00 am.

மடிவு கொண்டு

மனதும் வாட

துணையென அவனும்

இருப்பதை உணர்ந்து

துயரினைச் சொல்லி

அவனடிப் பணிய

மனதின் பாரம்

குறைந்தே போகும்

அதன்பின் பரவசம்

அங்கே வந்திடும்

அதனுள் திளைத்து

ஆனந்தம் கொண்டு

பதமலர் சூடி

பாடிப் புகழ

தனியொரு சுகமும்

தன்போல் வந்திடும்

தனிமையில் நாடி

அவனிடம் சென்றிடும்
