BT Song 1536
If God had never revealed His human nature, there would be no excuse for Him to say no. Now He thinks that He can say no because He experienced our nature. But for a bhakta, it doesn’t matter whether He remains God or human; their needs are always the same—give when asked. So, I expressed this thought as God refused to give, offering excuses for the one thing I now ask Him.
BT Song 1536: You Should Bestow
Simple English
If someone
Has nothing
The one who has
No choice but to give
If you stayed as just God
You couldn’t say “NO”
But since you came as human
Now you give excuses
If you reminded
One of the two
This argument now
Would never have happened
If you remembered
Only as God
There would be no way
For you to say no
To avoid us
By giving some excuses
You came among us
As a human being
“I know your
Condition very well
And I will give you
Accordingly in time”
You said this
In the past
When I ask now
You deny it
Well indeed is
This your act
How long will it go on
Let me see
One day or the other
You have to give
Why not make it
Today itself
My time, my choice
My will, like this
Thousands of reasons
We humans can give
But where is
Any need for that for you
Better tell that
At least now
When there is no
Answer to this question
Be quiet and do
What I ask for
What else can I do
The one who has nothing
And what alternatives
Do you have for this
There is no use
In arguing with me
You never won an argument with me
And there is no past record of it

BT Song 1536: Thou Shouldst Bestow
Classical English
If one
Hath nothing
He who hath
No other recourse but to give
If thou remainedst solely as God
Thou couldst not say ‘NAY’
But as thou camest as man
Now thou givest excuses
If thou didst remind
One of the two
This contention now
Ne’er would have arisen between us
If thou wert remembered
Only as God
There would be no
Means for thee to say nay
To elude us
By offering excuses
Thou camest among us
As a human being
“I know thy
Condition well
And I shall bestow upon thee
Accordingly in time”
Thou didst well say this
In times past
When I now ask it
Thou deniest it
Well indeed is
This thy drama
How long shall it endure
Let me see
One day or another
Thou must bestow it
Why not let it be
This very day
My time, my choice
My will, like this
A thousand reasons
We mortals can give
But where is
Any need for that with thee
Better to speak now
At the least
When there is no
Answer to this question
Be silent and do
What I request
What else can I do
He who hath nothing
And what alternatives
Hast thou for this
There is no use
In arguing with me
Thou hast ne’er won a debate with me
And no record of it in the past

BT Songs 1537 and 1538
Last night in my dream, I had a severe argument with God. Though I don’t remember all of it, one line often echoed in my mind repeatedly. Interestingly, I was arguing by singing a poem teasing God. As the same line continued to echo this morning, I wrote this song (1536).
After having my evening tea and sitting calmly, I started to reflect on the poem I wrote in the morning. I wondered what God’s response would be. As inspiration came, I began to write this song. After writing the first two stanzas, I thought, why should I be the mind voice for God? Let Him say directly what He wants to say. Then I changed from my perspective to God’s as the first person. That was my mistake. If I had continued to be His mind voice, I would have toned it down and expressed His thoughts more politely. But as I allowed Him to speak directly, He, becoming the God of Job, began to rebuke me, and this song was written.
The moral of the poem is: In life, allow God to control you. But when it comes to writing poems, keep your ground and never allow Him to speak directly.
After writing this song (1537), I sat and started to work on the cross stitch my mother left unfinished. Around 6:00, I began to think about how I would respond to the God of Job. He seems to forget that we are living in a different dispensation—not in the time of Law and Covenant. This is the New Dispensation of Grace, Love, and Bhakti. I won’t remain quiet and shut my mouth like Job; I will counter-argue with Him. The result is the next song (1538).
BT Song 1537: Are You Questioning Me
Simple English
I don’t have any
Unanswerable questions
I never remind you
Without giving answers
When to do and what
I do for you accordingly
After knowing
Your situation well
No matter how much you argue
And even record
All of them
As songs and other writings
None of them
Would change my heart
First, you should understand this
Accepting this fact
Did you alone know
How to write songs like this
Or you alone know
How to scold like this
I show leniency
As you still remain childish
Added to this, as you have lost your mother
I remain very patient
How much I have written
Do you know them all?
Can you understand
All my songs?
All of them were written
As I dictated to them
Then from where
Did your song come separately?
You also said
Many times, that
There is nothing
Left to write anymore
Still having
Some pity for you
Sometimes I give
Some songs to you
Did I stop them
Completely?
You fool, better
Tell that first
If any more noise
Comes from you
Then you will lament
Thinking that was a mistake
When I am with you
Each day after
After giving you
Shelter and enough food
If one more question
Ever comes
Then my response
Would be different
Are you asking
Questions to me?
Now better ask and then
You will know the real situation
Gurukulam, 15-12-23, 4:40 pm.
BT Song 1537: Art Thou Questioning Me
Classical English
I have no
Unanswerable queries
I ne’er remind thee
Without providing answers
When to do and what
I act for thee accordingly
After knowing
Thy situation well
No matter how much thou arguest
And recordest
All of them
As songs and other writings
None of these
Would move my heart
First, thou shouldst comprehend this
And accept this truth
Dost thou alone know
How to pen songs thus?
Or dost thou alone know
How to scold thus?
I show leniency
As thou art still childish
And having lost thy mother
I exhibit great patience
How much I have written
Dost thou know them all?
Canst thou understand
All my songs?
All were inscribed
As I dictated them
Whence then
Did thy song arise separately?
Thou hast said oft
That there is nothing
Left to write
Anymore
Yet in pity for thee
At times I bestow
Some songs
Upon thee
Did I cease them
Entirely?
Fool, thou hadst better
Say that first
If any further noise
Comes from thee
Then thou wilt lament
That mistake
When I am with thee
Each passing day
Providing thee
Shelter and sustenance
If one more query
Ever arises
Then my response
Shall differ
Art thou posing
Questions to me?
Now better ask, and then
Thou shalt understand the truth
Gurukulam, 15-12-23, 4:40 pm.
BT Song 1538: See 1537
BT Song 1538: Alternate Song Will Come
Simple English
If you are the one
Who is writing through others
Better you continue to write
As per your thoughts
Finally, I got my
Deliverance to remain your scribe
All my desire for writing
Has now gone
Don’t try to
Compete with me
Can you write
One poem like me?
Did any poem
Come that easily?
Do you want me to share
All the procedures?
Both the first and last
Words must come in the right place
Added to this
The poem should be within the meter
More than that
It should follow grammar
And words should come
Without any mistakes
I don’t know much
About other languages
But Tamil isn’t
That easy
When I myself
Don’t know grammar
Where do you have time
To learn it?
You compete
With me in other areas
When it comes to poems
Better you think twice
Though the theme
Could be yours
I should have the
Desire to write it down
Added to that
The situation should be conducive
More than that
The heart should be
In a happy mood
Did you ever have
Leisure or rest like me
When you keep vigilance
Not even blinking your eyes?
Okay, let it be
Let’s reach a truce
And do our
Respective works
When you are in need
Take some rest also
If you want any song
Come and ask from me
Leaving that
Don’t try to write
Songs competing with me
Then an alternate song
Will come from me
Gurukulam, 15-12-23, 6:00 pm.
BT Song 1538: Alternate Song Will Come
Classical English
If thou art the one
Who writest through others
Better thou continuest to write
According to thy thoughts
At last, I have found
Deliverance to remain thy scribe
All my desire for writing
Hath now vanished
Do not attempt to
Compete with me
Canst thou pen
One poem like me?
Hath any poem
Come that easily?
Dost thou wish me to share
All the procedures?
Both the first and last
Words must fall in the right place
Additionally,
The poem should be within the meter
Furthermore,
It should adhere to grammar
And words should flow
Without any errors
I know little
Of other tongues
But Tamil
Is not so easy
When I myself
Am ignorant of grammar
Where hast thou time
To learn it?
Thou competest
With me in other realms
When it comes to poems
Better thou thinkest twice
Though the theme
Could be thine
I must possess the
Desire to inscribe it
Additionally,
The situation should be favorable
More than that,
The heart should be
In a joyous mood
Hast thou ever had
Leisure or rest like me
When thou keepest vigilance
Not even blinking thine eyes?
Very well, let it be
Let us reach a truce
And attend to our
Respective duties
When thou art in need
Take some rest as well
If thou desirest any song
Come and ask from me
But leave off
Trying to write
Songs in competition with me
Then an alternate song
Will come from me
Gurukulam, 15-12-23, 6:00 pm.
BT Song 1539
Though the basic needs of all humans remain the same, like fingerprints, each one of us has our own personal needs. Like a child that knows only to communicate its need through crying, I can express my need that I cannot utter through poems. Beyond my physical, mental, and spiritual needs, I often feel that I am missing something. I don’t know what it is, but God, like a mother, knows that need. I requested Him to bestow it in my life too.
15-12-23 11.45 pm
BT Song 1539: There Is a Separate Need
Simple English
If you bestow
And provide for everyone
What else do I require
Something special
Though I say
Like this to you
You should note
What my needs are
Beyond the needs of
Body, mind, and spirit
There is a separate need for me
You know that well
As fingerprints
Never remain the same for all
You should understand
That special need of mine
Not knowing what
That special need is for me
And unable to give
Any name for it
I sought your grace
To fulfill that need
The one who stands
Beyond everything
I don’t know whether
Everyone has that special need
Even if they all have
It won’t be the same for all, I know this well
Like a mother
Who has many children
And knows the needs of
Each one separately
Therefore, I come to you
Who remains a mother for all creatures
As you well understand
That special need of mine
As a child
Not knowing to utter its hunger
When it is whining
As its mother understands
I am like that child
Who does not know to utter it
Before I whine
You give that nectar to me
Gurukulam, 15-12-23, 11:45 pm.
BT Song 1539: There Is a Separate Need
Classical English
If thou bestowest
And providest for everyone
What else do I require
Something special
Though I say
Thus to thee
Thou shouldst note

Beyond the needs of
Body, mind, and spirit
There is a separate need for me
Thou knowest that well
As fingerprints
Never remain the same for all
Thou shouldst understand
That special need of mine

And unable to give
Any name to it

I know not whether
Everyone has that special need
Even if they all have
It will not be the same for all, this I know well

Therefore, I come unto thee
Who art a mother for all creatures
As thou well understandest
That special need of mine
As a child
Not knowing how to utter its hunger
When it is whining
As its mother understands
I am like that child
Who does not know how to utter it
Before I whine
Thou givest that nectar to me

BT Song 1540
After writing the secular song about the burden of sharing, in which I said that it is better to remain silent than to share, as sharing might increase the burden rather than reduce it, I continued my cross stitch work. Then I thought, what about God? We often go and share with Him in the name of prayer. But does He actually listen to us, or is He too practicing the art of silence? The result is this poem, again teasing God.
BT Song 1540: Are You Listening?
Simple English
If you would listen
Then I will tell
Otherwise like you
I too will remain silent
Silence is better
For one’s heart
But this is
Applicable only to humans
But it is better
For you to listen
As you always
Remain in silence
Are you going to
Talk to us
In each one’s
Mother tongue?
Or are you going to
Write
And then share
With us like this?
If we share with others
It would become a rumor
That’s why we are
Sharing with you
Did we share
Expecting any
Immediate answer
From you?
When we have
Time for that
We put our words
In your ears
We share thinking that
You were listening
And when the right time comes
The answer would come
But did it fall
On deaf ears
Like a conch
That was blown?
But you don’t
Have that deformity
As you are
Perfectly complete
Okay, let it be
What else can you do
As so many voices are
Coming simultaneously?
Therefore I,
Not speaking like them
Write this and
Give it to you
Don’t think that
This is one among
The regular poems
That I often write
As you have
No time to listen
When you have leisure time
Read this
If you manage to understand anything
Give me the answer
Otherwise as usual
Remain in silence

BT Song 1536
