BT Songs 1676 to 1680

BT Song 1676

After nearly two weeks, we finally had a bright, sunny day today. So, I went for my evening walk, surrounded by nature. As the cattle returned from grazing and the birds flew back to their nests, the evening was wonderfully calm. It felt as if I could soar high with the birds, embracing nature and worshiping God while delighting in His creation.

BT Song 1676

Once upon a time,
In the evening sky,
The sun was setting—
A beautiful sight! (1)

Singing melodies,
The birds flew away,
And my heart followed
Right behind them. (2)

Though I had no wings,
Still, I soared high,
Rising, rising,
Along with them. (3)

There I beheld
A wondrous scene—
O Lord! The splendor
Of Your creation. (4)

Looking below,
Borders disappeared;
The thought of “mine”
And “yours” faded. (5)

Realizing all
Is Your creation,
I joined in praise
With them above. (6)

When confined
By narrow bounds,
The world around me
Felt so small. (7)

But when I flew
And spread my wings,
My world within
Grew vast and wide. (8)

Like a bird with wings
Yet unable to fly,
I, too, remained
Bound to the earth. (9)

Grant me a heart
That soars so free,
Expanding within
Like wings in flight. (10)

To do so, Lord,
I come to You,
To break the limits
Of my small mind. (11)

Blending with nature,
United in flight,
I soared and wandered
Above the sky. (12)

BT Song 1676 Must fly

Classical English

Once in a time long past,
As twilight softly fell,
The sun withdrew its golden rays—
A scene so wondrous fair. (1)

Singing their songs so sweet,
The birds took to the sky;
And lo! My heart did follow them,
Drifting with silent joy. (2)

Though wings I did not own,
Yet high I soared in flight;
With lifted soul, I journeyed far,
Beyond the bounds of sight. (3)

There, before my gaze,
A vision bright appeared—
O Lord! How grand Thy handiwork,
Thy wondrous craft displayed. (4)

Below, I cast my gaze,
And saw no lines divide;
All sense of “mine” and “thine” dissolved,
In oneness vast and wide. (5)

Thine is all the earth!
With awe my soul confessed;
And with creation’s voice, I raised
My song of grateful praise. (6)

When bound by narrow walls,
The world seemed closed and small;
Yet soaring high, my spirit saw
A world so vast within. (7)

Expanding in my flight,
I marveled at the view—
How wide, how great the world became
When heart and mind grew free! (8)

Like birds with idle wings,
Who never learn to fly,
I, too, was earthbound, unaware
Of heights my soul could claim. (9)

O Lord, bestow on me
A heart that spreads its wings—
That soars beyond these narrow thoughts,
In freedom rich and vast. (10)

And thus, to Thee, I come,
To break these chains of mind;
To rise beyond all earthly bounds,
And taste the boundless sky. (11)

With nature’s voice in tune,
In harmony I soared,
And drifted through the endless blue,
Upon the sky’s embrace. (12)

BT Song 1677

I feel sorry for the Lord, as His situation seems like that of a man holding a tiger’s tail—unable to let go, yet unable to move forward. Both grow tired, but neither can stop going in circles. Though the Lord experienced human life, He never knew what it truly means to remain an old person. Naturally, then, He has to take responsibility, for He failed to grant what I asked of Him.

BT Song 1677 – Let’s Go in Circles Again

Simple English

1.
On one side, I stand,
Stumbling in my place.
On the other side, you too,
Struggle and resist.

2.
Like a tug of war,
This keeps going on.
No end in sight,
Neither of us can see.

3.
Like the story of
The unyielding warrior,
Our situation too
Has turned pathetic.

4.
You cannot let go,
I cannot move either.
Your pull is strong,
Yet, I do not budge.

5.
Like a man
Holding a tiger’s tail,
We go in circles,
Chasing each other.

6.
One moment, you roar
Like a fierce tiger.
The next, you’re a man
Clutching at the tail.

7.
Your state is
Even worse than mine.
I cannot help—
That’s my sorrow.

8.
If you change
This stumbling stance,
Will you still feel
The need to fight?

9.
If I let you stumble
And just watch,
Will you be able
To bear it later?

10.
Age has caught up,
That’s the truth.
You don’t see it—
That’s the tragedy.

11.
Since you never
Lived through old age,
What would you know?
Yet, you argue!

12.
You did what
You thought was best.
But why refuse
The same for me?

13.
Now you suffer,
What else can I do?
This is your fate,
Not mine to change.

14.
Let it go,
I won’t fight anymore.
Let’s go in circles again—
There is no other way.

BT Song 1677 – We Shall Wander Again

Classical English

1.
On one side, I stand,
Unsteady in my place;
On the other, thou dost strive,
Warring against fate.

2.
Like a battle unceasing,
This struggle doth endure;
No end doth we perceive,
Nor victory for either.

3.
Like the tale of warriors past,
We are but lost in woe;
A pitiful state art we,
Bound in fate’s cruel snare.

4.
To part, thou canst not,
Nor can I be swayed.
Thy grasp is firm,
Yet I stand unmoved.

5.
As one who holds
The tiger’s tail in fear,
We circle round and round,
Each pursuing the other.

6.
Now a beast thou dost become,
Roaring fierce and wild;
Then a man, thou dost grasp
The tail thou canst not release.

7.
Thy state is grievous,
Yet, mine is sorrowed still.
To aid thee, I cannot,
And that is my despair.

8.
Should thy wavering cease,
Would thy war continue?
Or wouldst thou relent,
And let thy battle end?

9.
If I but watch thee fall,
And stand unmoved,
Wouldst thou endure
The pain that follows?

10.
Age hath come upon thee,
This truth none may deny.
Yet, thou dost not perceive,
And therein lies the sorrow.

11.
For thou hast not seen
The passing of the years.
How then dost thou know,
What time alone may teach?

12.
What pleased thee,
That alone didst thou choose.
Yet, when I sought the same,
Why didst thou forbid me?

13.
Now thou dost suffer,
And what may I do?
This burden is thine own,
Beyond my power to change.

14.
Let it fall, let it be,
I seek no further strife.
We shall wander yet again,
For no other path remains.

BT Song 1678

There are several contradictions in Scripture. One of them is that God alone tells us to ask, seek, and knock—yet He also says He knows our needs even before we ask. The usual explanation is to understand these statements in their proper context. Fair enough. But my question is: if He came before I sought, gave before I asked, and opened before I knocked, then why should I strive any further? In fact, what I received without asking was far better than what I demanded. I know there is no answer to this, and God will never provide one. So, it is better for me to stop asking and simply accept what He deems best for me. However, this does not mean I will stop questioning Him—because He is the one who told me to ask in the first place.

BT Song 1678 You Are the Reason

Simple English

There is nothing more
Left to say now,
And there is no need
For words anymore. 1

You already know it all,
So what can I say?
There is nothing new
Left within me. 2

You told me to ask,
So I did that.
You told me to seek,
And I obeyed. 3

You told me to knock,
I did that too.
Everything else,
I left to you. 4

What will you give?
And when will you?
When will you open?
I do not know. 5

Before I asked, You gave,
Before I sought, You came,
Before I knocked, You opened—
Now, I understand. 6

Why this contradiction?
How would I know?
Why did You do it?
How can I grasp it? 7

I did what You said,
Yet, nothing came.
When I remained silent,
There was no lack. 8

If silence brings gifts,
Then why speak?
Why did You ask me
To take action? 9

No answer will come,
I know it well.
Yet, I still ask,
And You understand. 10

This is a riddle
That lies within me.
Silence itself
Is the answer. 11

There is nothing more
Left to say now,
And there is no need
For words anymore. 12

Yet, I will speak,
For there is no choice.
The only reason is—
You and none else. 13

BT Song 1678 Thou Art the Cause

Classical English

No more is left
For me to speak,
Nor is there need
For words to seek. 1

All is known
To thee, O Lord;
Naught remains
In me untold. 2

Thou saidst, “Ask,”
And I obeyed.
Thou bidst me seek,
And so I prayed. 3

Thou saidst, “Knock,”
And knock I did.
All else, my Lord,
To Thee I yield. 4

What wilt Thou give?
And when shall it be?
When shall it open?
’Tis hid from me. 5

Before I asked,
Thou gav’st in love.
Before I sought,
Thou cam’st above. 6

Why this conflict,
I know not why.
Why was it done?
How may I pry? 7

I heeded Thy word,
Yet naught was gained.
Silent I stood,
Yet all remained. 8

If stillness brings
The gift untold,
Why then bid’st Thou
My heart unfold? 9

No voice shall come,
This truth I know,
Yet still I ask—
Thou know’st it so. 10

A riddle deep
Within me stays,
And silence stands
As its reply. 11

No more is left
For me to speak,
Nor is there need
For words to seek. 12

Yet must I speak,
No choice is mine.
Thou art the cause—
None else but Thou. 13

BT Song 1679

While watching a YouTube program on the Nicene Creed, I was surprised by the divisions regarding the divinity of Muktinath. Fortunately, in India, the concept of one’s guru being revered as God is well established. I found no difficulty in attributing divinity to Muktinath, for He has become my Guru. The famous Guru Mantra, commonly chanted to glorify the Guru—comparing Him/Her to the Supreme Brahman or Ultimate Consciousness—resonates with me. I find solace in seeing Muktinath as my Guru:

“Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshvarah,
Guru Sakshat Parabrahma, Tasmai Sri Gurave Namah.”

The relationship between a Guru and a disciple is akin to that of a father and son, as the Guru literally gives spiritual birth to the disciple through the initiation mantra (Deeksha). Reflecting on this, I wrote this song to celebrate my relationship with my Guru as His disciple.

BT Song 1679 – You Came as My Guru

Simple English

1
To reach me,
You came as a bond,
To help me understand,
You stood as a feeling.

2
To live with me,
You came as a companion,
To rule over me,
You stood as the Divine.

3
You came as my Guru,
Accepted me as Your disciple,
Seated me at Your feet,
And gave me the mantra.

4
Without words or form,
You filled my heart,
That very mantra
Became You.

5
Without ritualistic worship,
I honored You daily,
Bowing my heart
To the formless You.

6
You transformed my life
That lacked grace,
Banished my darkness,
And stood as my light.

7
Without rituals
Or scriptures,
You gave me freedom
Through the Spirit.

8
You granted me
A state of liberation,
To dwell with You
Forever here.

9
I have found
The purpose of birth,
And in this earthly life,
I have found fulfillment.

10
If I die and
Rise again,
Once more in that bond,
I will live.

11
Until then,
In this daily life,
I will live in You,
Who understands me.

BT Song 1679 – Thou Cam’st as Guru

Classical English

1
To draw me near,
Thou cam’st as kin;
To make me know,
Thou stood’st within.

2
To dwell with me,
A man Thou cam’st;
Yet as my Lord,
My soul Thou claim’dst.

3
As Guru bright,
Thy grace was free;
Thy feet did rest,
Thy word to me.

4
No tongue nor form,
Yet deep within,
That sacred word—
Thyself hath been.

5
No rite nor law,
Yet daily bowed
To Thee unseen,
My heart avowed.

6
From graceless life,
Thou set me free,
Dispelled my night,
And shone in me.

7
No temple’s call,
No sacred lore,
Yet Spirit-given
Was freedom’s store.

8
Eternal life
With Thee I found,
A state of bliss
On earthly ground.

9
The birth’s true aim
I now have known,
In worldly days,
Thy joy is shown.

10
If death returns,
New life to weave,
Again with Thee
Shall I yet cleave.

11
Till then, O Lord,
Each fleeting day,
With Thee who knows
My soul shall stay.

BT Song 1680

Before traveling north in February, I wanted to complete the preparation of the Excel sheet for the Trust account. I never wait until the deadline at the end of March to do this work; I always prefer to finish tasks in advance. While thinking about this, I realized that God does not seem to follow the same principle. Though He has already completed the audit of my life, He has yet to declare His judgment—unnecessarily delaying and failing to finalize my account’s assessment. To tease the Lord, I wrote this song, comparing my way of working with His.

BT Song 1680 – Give the Verdict (Simple English)

1
What I have spoken
Will not change.
So why is it hard
To do what You said?

2
I am just a man,
With a wavering mind,
Yet I live my life
Without changing my word.

3
O unchanging Lord,
Who never goes back on His nature,
Tell me, then,
Why have You changed?

4
If You have come
To settle accounts,
No one should get
A special exemption.

5
The final auditing
Of a servant’s life is done,
The case is closed,
And the days have passed.

6
Yet without announcing
The day of judgment,
Why do You keep
Delaying it for no reason?

7
Even if You have
A thousand cases to judge,
Surely, You can
Decide on them all.

8
I don’t need to know
The outcome of others,
Just tell me
What happened to my case.

9
When a case is over,
Yet no judgment is given,
To keep on waiting
Is the hardest suffering.

10
So don’t delay,
Give the verdict now,
And bring this case
To an end.

BT Song 1680 – Render the Judgment

Classical English

1
What once was spoken
Shall not recede,
If yet I live,
Why dost Thou heed?

2
A man though weak,
With mind that sways,
Yet firm I live,
Or so I say.

3
O changeless Lord,
Who dost not lie,
Then tell me why
Thy words go by.

4
If Thou dost come
To weigh each deed,
No man shall be
From reck’ning freed.

5
The bondsman’s life
Was weighed and tried,
The case is closed,
The days have died.

6
Yet Thou dost hide
The judgment hour,
Why dost Thou
Delay Thy power?

7
A thousand trials
May rest with Thee,
Yet Thou canst search
And justice see.

8
Their fate is Thine,
Yet not my quest,
Speak but the end
Of my request.

9
If trials cease,
Yet judgment stays,
To live thus bound
Is bitter days.

10
So swiftly come,
Give judgment true,
And end this case
That waits on You.

BT Song 1676

10
