BT Songs 1696 to 1700

BT Song 1696

Another inner tussle. Given my health issues and the lack of adequate support here, I am being compelled to consider moving to a different place. One well-wisher—perhaps the only one still deeply committed to both me and this ashram—has been urging me to prioritize my health over my preference to live as a recluse.

I’ve never had any sentimental attachment to a specific place or building. Yet, I’ve grown to prefer this quiet environment over any noisy setting. Sadly, even this place is gradually losing its calm due to increasing noise pollution.

My age and ailments—diabetes, blood pressure, back pain, and the general slowing down of life—along with limited help, are forcing me to reconsider everything. My sister has been persistently asking me to move closer to her, and though I dislike city life, especially Chennai, I am slowly coming to terms with the idea.

At the same time, people here ask me to stay on and not abandon this place which has become desolate in my presence. So, amidst this tension and indecision, tonight, while reflecting on it all, I was inwardly stirred to write this song—as a kind of prayer.

Thank God I didn’t move, as my sister was unable to find a rental house for me. The house owners refused to rent to a sannyasi, even though my sister and her husband assured them that they alone would handle the rent. For these owners, who stays in the house matters more than the rent itself. While sannyasis are welcomed for visits and blessings, most Hindus are uncomfortable with the idea of a sannyasi living among them.

BT Song 1696 Lead me continuously

  1.

No matter what others say,
No matter what others ask,
Only what You say—
That alone, my heart accepts.

  •

I’ve said so many things—
I don’t even know how many;
Likewise, what others say
I can’t fully understand.

  •

But even a single word
That You speak is enough;
For that one word,
My heart keeps waiting.

  •

Yet, I’m not in the state
To truly hear that word;
The reason for this
Is not unknown to me.

  •

If I can move beyond
My voice and others’ noise,
And simply wait
To hear the word You speak—

  •

Then deep within me
Your voice will echo;
Surely and clearly
My heart will hear it.

  •

Such maturity
Has not come to me yet;
I don’t have the training
That’s needed for it.

  •

So please, You Yourself
Come and take over me;
Silence both the outer sounds
And the noise within.

  •

Give me inner peace
With great delight,
And calm this stormy mind
By holding it still.

  1.

Declare, “This is My will,”
And lead me forever—
Through all the days
That are yet to come.

Gurukulam, 30-4-2025, இரவு, 11.15

BT Song 1697

At least for now, what I feared may not come to pass. I don’t need to immediately leave the ashram—especially not for Chennai, a place I’ve never liked due to its climate and mosquitoes.

After a thorough check-up, the orthopedic doctor assured me that there’s no major health issue. What I experience is quite normal for someone my age. My back pain, he said, is due to weakening bones—not anything more serious. The only real advice: don’t overexert, and take full rest when needed.

Also, my brother-in-law’s plan to shift me to his daughter’s home in Guduvanchery won’t work out anytime soon, as the current tenants are elderly and shouldn’t be disturbed. Despite the medical conveniences and proximity to my sister there, I’d still face many of the same challenges.

Given my position as a sannyasi, renting a house isn’t ideal—nor do I want the instability of constantly shifting homes. So, the decision—mutually made by my sister and her husband—is for me to remain here in the ashram. That brought a sense of relief.

But that night, during meditation, another thought came: maybe it’s better that God remains silent rather than dropping hints that confuse me further. This song was born from that thought.

BT Song 1697: Not a Riddle

1

If You act without saying,
It brings confusion.
If You speak and act,
It brings hesitation.

  •

Only one of the two
Will always happen.
Once I understood that,
What more can I do?

  •

When something
Seems like a riddle,
The desire to understand
Naturally arises.

  •

If You give the answer
Before the riddle,
Then where is the space
For the riddle to exist?

  •

If the future looks
Like a puzzle to me,
And I come to You
Seeking its answer—

  •

If You say, “I already
Told you before,”
Then tell me—
What am I supposed to do?

  •

Saying that “This is good,”
And I accept it,
Still wondering,
What else can I do?

  •

Let things happen
As they are meant to.
One thing I’m sure of—
You are the One leading.

  •

So I’ve come,
As usual again,
To say, “Let Your will
Alone be done.”

  1.

Whether You speak or not,
Whether You explain or not—
I now bow and say,
Both are truly the same.

Gurukulam, 3-5-2025, 11.45, p.m.

BT Song 1698

Sometimes, ignorance truly is bliss. Knowing something partially—especially when that knowledge is incomplete or confusing—can be more disturbing than not knowing at all.

Whether it’s about God, myself, or the deeper questions of life, true understanding seems always out of reach. And when we get only glimpses, we’re left with more questions than peace.

I’m beginning to feel that not knowing—with a heart tuned to silence and inwardness—is perhaps a deeper joy. There’s a voice within—whether it’s God, the Self, or just a reflection of my own mind, I do not know. But when I remain inwardly attentive to it, I sense that I’m being drawn into something whole and quiet.

That voice doesn’t come with answers—it comes with presence. And in that presence, I learn to live peacefully even with unanswered questions.

BT Song 1698 I knew You

  1.

If I had not known—
How peaceful life would be!
But once I knew You,
A thousand questions arose.

  •

Even if answers
Were given to each question,
Understanding them
Became a hard task.

  •

So no more questions,
No more answers;
Just silence alone—
That would be enough.

  •

When I closed my ears,
My eyes, and my mouth,
And gathered my mind
Into stillness—

  •

A new question appeared:
“Is this true silence?”
It stood before me
Fresh and firm.

  •

Wondering what to do next,
I searched for answers
And turned to the scriptures
To read and find truth.

  •

Whatever little clarity
I once had
Completely vanished—
Only confusion remained.

  •

Then I came to You
Saying, “I need nothing—
Just let me ask You,
And that alone will do.”

  •

But You ran away,
Saying, “Enough of this—
Just leave Me alone,
That will be enough!”

  1.

Thinking all is well,
I tried to escape too,
Hoping I could
Also run away.

  1.

Then from deep within
A voice called out:
“Where can you run,
And how will you hide?”

  1.

Startled, I stopped,
And in that moment,
I realized:
“That voice—it’s You!”

  1.

There, fully aware
Of myself within,
In that deep knowing,
I finally knew You.

Gurukulam,  21-5-2025, 11.40 pm.

BT Song 1699

The same old paradox about prayer: if God already knows everything, why does He still ask us to pray?

But over time, I’ve come to see that prayer is more than making requests. It is also about expressing every thought, longing, sigh, joy, sorrow—even confusion.

Whether I use traditional formats or simply pour out my thoughts, the act of offering them becomes prayer. For a bhakta, everything becomes prayer—asking, complaining, waiting, even silence.

So I no longer try to define prayer narrowly. Life itself becomes prayer when lived in open surrender.

BT Song 1699 Tell the Conclusion

  1.

As long as You give
Of Your own will,
There’s no use in me
Asking on my own.

  •

Still, for some reason,
You told me to ask—
And for that, You gave
A thousand metaphors.

  •

Just because You said
To ask, I didn’t.
But if You refuse to give,
I can’t stop asking.

  •

The reason for this
Lies within me—
But You already
Know that well.

  •

Even if both of us
Keep arguing like this,
What conclusion
Will ever come of it?

  •

So should I completely
Stop asking You?
And just accept
Whatever You give later?

  •

Or should I keep asking
As usual again,
Letting things take
Their natural course?

  •

Please don’t think
This too is a demand—
And withdraw from me
As if I’m asking wrongly.

  •

And don’t try again
To say something vague
Like before—
Just to make me wait.

  1.

Give me a clear
Answer to my question—
Or accept defeat
And say You can’t.

  1.

Then I’ll make
My own decision—
And I’ll just come
And let You know.

Gurukulam,  27-5-2025, 11.40 pm.

BT Song 1700

Another plea—asking God to consider calling me back soon, given my current health condition.

This body has begun showing clear signs of old age. The back pain is particularly draining. I don’t say this from self-pity, but from acceptance. Pain is a constant companion now, and each day requires more effort.

This song came as a direct, honest expression of that state—not in despair, but in longing. I’m not asking for a miracle or healing. Just that God, in His time, may bring closure gently.

Until then, I continue, with the body as it is, and with the hope that my end will be as inwardly peaceful as the life I’ve tried to live.

BT Song 1700 – I Will Come to Serve

You made me suffer,
Left me staggering,
What more now—
Are you still watching the show?

I cannot bear
Any more of this;
I stand trembling,
Helpless in pain.

You say, “I’m near,
I will embrace you.”
That’s not enough
For today’s need.

“How long must I stay?
What should I do?”
How many times
Must I ask you that?

Whatever the reason
You may have in mind,
There is no longer
Any need for me here.

You may have
Some purpose for me—
You can give
A thousand reasons for it.

But I won’t
Accept any of them.
I can give
A thousand reasons back.

This debate too
Is nothing new;
We’ve done it
Before, haven’t we?

Even so,
This must end.
I haven’t changed
My stand on that.

I stagger,
I stumble as I walk,
Still trying
Not to collapse fully.

Before I reach
That stage completely—
Call me soon,
I plead with you.

Have you grown old,
And your hearing grown dull?
Is that the reason
You’ve not heard my call?

Is that why now
You miss what I say—
And why your answers
Are always delayed?

This is the
Right time—I say again.
If you call me,
I will come and serve.

BT Song 1696 தொடர்ந்து நடத்தணும்

  1.

  1.

சொல்லிச் செய்தாலும்
சொல்லாமல் செய்தாலும்
இரண்டும் ஒன்றுதான்
என்று பணிந்தேன்

குருகுலம், 3-5-2025, இரவு 11.45

BT Song 1698 – உன்னை அறிந்தேன்

  1.

அறியாமல் இருந்தால்
எத்தனை நல்லது!
அறிந்தபின் ஆயிரம்
கேள்வி பிறக்குது

  •

கேள்விக்கு ஏற்ற
விடை கிடைத்தாலும்
விடையைப் புரிவது
கட்டினமாயிருக்கு

  •

கேள்வியும் வேண்டாம்
பதிலும் வேண்டாம்
மௌனம் ஒன்றே
போதும் என்று

  •

செவியோடு கண்
வாயை மூடி
மனதை ஒருமித்து
அமரும் போது

  •

“இதுவா மௌனம்?”
என்கிற கேள்வி
புதிதாய்த் தோன்றி
என்முன் வருது

  •

“இனிமேல் என்செய்ய?”
என்று எண்ணி
விடையைத் தேடி
மறையைப் படிக்க

  •

கொஞ்சம் நஞ்சம்
இருந்த தெளிவும்
முற்றாய் மறைந்து
குழப்பம் மிஞ்ச

  •

“ஏதும் வேண்டாம்
உன்னிடம் வந்து
கேட்டால் போதும்”
என்று வந்தால்

  •

“போதும், என்னை
விட்டால் போதும்”
என்று ஓடி
நீயும் ஒளிய

  1.

“நலமாய்ப் போச்சு”
என்று எண்ணி
நானும் தப்பித்து
ஓட முயன்றால்

  1.

உள்ளிருந்து
ஓசை ஒன்று—
“எங்கே ஓடி
எப்படி மறைவாய்?”

  1.

என்றதும் நான்
திகைத்து நின்று
“அதுவே நீதான்!”
என்பதை உணர

  1.

அங்கே முழுதாய்
என்னை உணர்ந்து
அதிலே உன்னை
நானும் அறிந்தேன்

குருகுலம், 21-5-2025, இரவு, 11.40

BT Song 1699 – முடிவைச் சொல்லு

  1.

நீயாகப் பார்த்து
தருகின்ற வரையில்
நானாகக் கேட்டு
பயனே இல்லை

  •

ஆயினும் ஏனோ
கேட்கச் சொன்னாய்
அதற்கு ஆயிரம்
உவமை தந்தாய்

  •

கேட்கச் சொன்னதால்
கேட்கவில்லை
தந்திட மறுத்தால்
விடுவதாய் இல்லை

  •

இதற்குக் காரணம்
என்னிடம் இருக்கு
அதுவும் உனக்குத்
தெரிந்தே இருக்கு

  •

இப்படியாய் இருவரும்
வாதம் செய்தாலும்
இதற்கு முடிவு
என்னதான் இருக்கு

  •

ஆகவே கேட்பதை
முற்றிலும் விடுவதா?
அதன்பின் தருவதை
ஏற்றுக் கொள்வதா?

  •

அல்லது எதற்கும்
இருக்கட்டும் என்று
வழக்கம் போல
கேட்டு வைப்பதா?

  •

இதுவும் கூட
வேண்டுதல் என்று
எண்ணி நீயும்
இருந்துவிடாதே

  •

முன்போல் இதற்கும்
சொன்னதைச் சொல்லி
ஏமாற்றலாம் என்று
இருந்துவிடாதே

  1.

தெளிவாய் கேள்விக்கு
பதிலைச் சொல்லு
அல்லது தோல்வியை
ஒப்புக் கொள்ளு

  1.

அதன்பின் நானொரு
முடிவுக்கு வருகிறேன்
அதைமட்டும் உன்னிடம்
சொல்லி வைக்கிறேன்

குருகுலம், 27-5-2025, இரவு, 11.40

BT Song 1700 – பணிவிடை செய்வேன்

தவிக்க வைத்தது
தள்ளாட விட்டு
இன்னும் என்ன
வேடிக்கை பார்ப்பாய்?              1

இதற்கு மேலே
முடியாது என்று
இயலாமல் தவிக்கிறேன்
தள்ளாடி நின்று.         2

அருகில் உள்ளேன்
அணைத்துக் கொள்வேன்
என்று சொன்னால்
போதாது இன்று.        3

“இருதென்ன செய்ய?”
என்கிற கேள்வி,
எத்தனை முறைதான்
இன்னும் கேட்பது?            4

வைப்பதன் நோக்கம்
எதுவாக இருப்பினும்,
இருக்கின்ற தேவை
இல்லையே எனக்கு.          5

ஏதேனும் நோக்கம்
உனக்கு இருக்கலாம்,
அதற்கு ஆயிரம்
காரணம் சொல்லலாம்.               6

அவைகள் ஏதும்
ஏற்காது நானும்,
அதற்கான ஆயிரம்
காரணம் தரலாம்.              7

இந்த வாதமும்
புதிதானதில்லை;
முன்பு நாமும்
செய்யாமல் இல்லை.         8

ஆயினும் இதற்கு
முடிவு வேண்டும்;
