BT Songs 306 to 310

BT Song 306.

BT Song 306. I have to seek peace.

I need your peace within me

You should fill me within

In whatever condition I may live

I should always live with you.

Though thousands of things happen around me

And the senses wander without any rest

Though the heart is also disturbed with lots of frustration

I should come to your presence.

Though the heart is troubled

And the emotions tossed me everywhere

Though I faint with lots of confusion in mind

I should come unto you without any hesitation.

Though I hear lots of noises

And do many things without having any rest

Though I become tired by running pillar to post

I should find peace at your feet.

18-6-15 Mathigiri, 2.50

After writing the above song (305), then I began to pray.  But I was struck in my mind and I began to murmur the first line of this song as a prayer in Tamil (I only pray in Tamil).  Then within a few minutes I wrote this song too and closed my prayer time. St. Augustine well said that ‘my soul finds rest only in you’.

BT Song 307.

BT Song 307 Accept Parting

Whoever comes and whoever might go

God is the one who remains permanently with us

Whoever upholds and whoever went away from us

His hands alone are with us always.

Those which stand will fall one day

Those which are collected will be shattered one day

Those who born will die one day

Life on this earth too will come to an end one day. @

‘Changing’ is the one thing that remains unchanging

It is good for all that things are changing

New will come only if the old is gone

And it will bring benefits to many.

The seed which is sown becoming plant

As becomes useful by giving flowers and fruits

The human life on this earth too

Will take new form and will bring forth fruits

Accepting this reality

‘Wherever you go live abundantly’

By blessing like this let us accept parting

And complete our life by living with God’s help.

7-7-15, Mathigiri, 2.45 pm.

As we advance in age, several realities in life, though true, become hard to accept. One such reality in old age is parting with people who have to move as the demands of the life forces such parting on both sides. However old people keep a brave face outwardly, the separation often affects them deeply.  But family people are fortunate as they have others to compensate for such separation.  But the life of single people is very difficult, as they have to accept the reality of a ‘single’ life—which they choose or imposed upon them.

When I was thinking about the moving of people away from each other I reflected on all those who came in life and went away—some physically, others permanently (not by death I mean).

But the joy in it is that as the next generation moves away, they move for the good of all. As we expect the seed to become a plant and give flowers and fruits, we too want the next generation to grow and move ahead in life and become a channel of blessing to so many people. And when I thought about it, I wrote this song.

BT Song 308.

BT Song 308 Let us live with contentment

Let us accept whatever comes

And accomplish our life

Not longing with anxiety

Thinking about the future

Let us live fully with contentment

At present

The one who plants a tree

Will water it

The one who created human will provide accordingly

The one who created will

Definitely take care.

The one who provides

To the frog inside a rock

And to the embryo (foetus?) in the womb

To the fish in deep sea

And to the birds in the sky

Will take care of us.

The one who realized this

Alone will get peace

Those who have anxiety

Will become frustrated

This is the truth

And let us understand this.

12-7-15, Mathigiri, 2.45 pm.

Anxiety about the future never solves the problem which may not come but it will deprive the peace of mind which we have now. At the same time no human can live without some anxiety.  The fact that we cannot avoid birds flying above our heads. But we should guard not to allow them to nest on our head.  When I was meditating about this, I wrote this song.

BT Song 309

BT Song 309 A supplication

I should sit with you and talk

I should listen by sitting at your feet

I should live knowing your words

I should live as your bhakta.

I should fill my mind only you

I should keep my will only in you

I should refine me through bhakti

I should live humbly as a bhakta.

I should submit by humbling myself

I should enjoy your sweet presence by living alone

You also should stay with this lonely one

And you should control this wavering mind

My heart should melt in you

I should mingle with full sense

Not allowing my emotions to toss me

I should look unto you with much enthusiasm.

13-7-15, Mathigiri, 2.45 PM.

I never have any particular form of prayer life. I often keep short accounts with God.  When I think about a person, I will pray for him/her. When I think about an issue, I will pray for that. When I think about the blessing that I received from God, immediately I thank Him. Even when I am reading, some other thoughts come (about a person, issue etc.) I will stop reading and pray for that.

So as usual when I began to pray, then nothing came to mind. Then I uttered the very first line as my prayer. Then I stopped my prayer and wrote this song as my prayer today.

BT Song 310 True Light

It is the word which was there from the beginning

The one which remain as God in the beginning

It also was with God

It also remain mingled with God

Everything came only through that Word

Apart from Him nothing came on earth

The Life was complete in Him

And that showed the light to human

The darkness can never

Over came that light and this is true

And to believe in that Light

One avadut@ came as its witness

And God alone sent him

But he came only as a witness to that light

He never become that light

Which alone will enlighten

Everyone who born on this earth

I rendered the verses from John 1: 1-9 in poetic form for my prayer.  I have written few such poems based on the verses of Muktiveda.  I prefer the poetic version which will be easier to remember than reading in prose.  I still can quote so many poems from Hindu Scriptures which I read in the past.  Just one time reading is enough to remember some poems, as the words and meaning immediately entered in both heart and mind.  I heard that the gospel has already come in poetic form in Hindi and I wish someone could do the same in Tamil and other regional languages in India.  In India most of the scriptures are only in poetic form and very few are in prose forms.

@ Avaduts are wandering sannyasis who never followed any social norms and even behaved in a strange way.
