BT Songs 331 to 335

BT Song 331

BT Song 331 He will come immediately

with a melted heart if we call Him He will come immediately
and will bestow His grace for those who wholeheartedly bow to Him.

Is there a cow which does not recognize the voice of her calf?
If we shed tears won’t His (mother’s) heart too melt?
If we seek His feet as the only refuge
Won’t He take care of us by giving ‘abhayam’@?– with a melted heart?

Do we have another other abode other than Him?
Does He have any other relatives other than us?
The one who gave His life to save the human beings
Will remain silent when we call upon Him? — With a melted heart

Both the eyes pouring the tears and bowing our heads by folding our hands
The body also with a shivering and the tongue getting twisted by
losing all kinds of talk
The hairs also stand still and the heart also melts.
When we call upon Him without knowing any words, will He remain
silent? — With a melted heart

We don’t need to praise Him by singing songs and we need not utter
many words (in prayer)
We need not run pillar to post seeking Him and we need not jump with emotion.
Sitting silently when we worship Him wholeheartedly
The one who come near to us and give His peace– With a melted heart

7-9-15, Mathigiri, 11.30 pm.

That was a wonderful meditation tonight.  Though we cannot despise
emotion in our life, yet we need not and cannot live all the time only
with emotion.  Particularly when we sit silently—though our
mind/thought will wander, the communion between Bhagavan and
bhakta (atman with Pramatman) will force us to sit eternally in that
state.  No words can explain such sadhana, unless one personally went
through it in her life. This song is the outcome of such sadhana.

The word ‘abhayam’ actually means a + bhayam =no fear.  When anyone
seek refuge to one the first thing that she will get is ‘don’t be
afraid’.  In Indian religious and bhakti context giving ‘abhayam’ is
considered not only a virtue but also a dharma for any hero and God.
When Vibhishna seek refuge at Rama, though many, including Sugreeva
tell Rama not to give it to Vibhishna, suspecting that he came as a
spy, Rama not listening to them, says that it is his dharma to give
‘abhayam’ even if Vibhishna came with the wrong motive.  I am not sure
what the English word is for this.

BT Song 332

BT Song 332 Found my Guru

Nobody knows who He is?

They cannot even recognize Him

Those who searched for God

Have not yet understood Him

They shared what they know

And worshiped what they understood

And told what they realized

Yet I cannot understand.

I too strived

And searched everywhere

Followed so many paths

But was defeated.

‘What else can I do?

Why should I even strive in vain?’

Thinking like this

I became depressed.

But I received

One way

That is to know the guru

Who will remove the darkness of my heart?

I searched in so many places

And have done my best

In order to find out that guru

Whom I was seeking

Wherever I searched

However I tried

Till the end

I didn’t receive my guru

God having mercy upon me

Seeking after me

Revealed that He is that Guru

By redeeming me.

10-9-15, 11.15, pm. Mathigiri.

Another song when I was meditating on my own search for a guru.  Such repeated reflection back to my journey often helps me not only to renew my basic understanding about my search but also to enjoy my relationship with my guru with reverence and love.

BT Song 333

BT Song 333 I should see

I should see you

By opening the eyes of my heart—I should see….

As the blind persons followed you

After you have healed them

After knowing you and understood you

Not becoming a blind to wander in the darkness–—I should see….

Though I read your Veda each day

Meditate sitting silently at your feet

Uttered prayer by using so many words

Yet not giving up the peace due to frustration—I should see….

Though I collect things through righteous means

For the need of tomorrow

To know your will to enjoy them

Unless God ordained for that—I should see….

Though this day passed in a peaceful way

Not to be troubled by thinking about the trouble of tomorrow

To see the presence of God

To lead tomorrow like today—I should see….

16-9-15, Mathigiri, 2.10, pm.

After doing my regular Muktivedic reading (Mt. 20:29-34), when I was reflecting about the way the blind persons who responded to the Lord, I too prayed that though I do my regular sadhana of every kind, yet I must always keep His dharshan within me, I wrote this song.

BT Song 334.

BT Song 334. Nothing I lack

The Holy feet are there for me to worship

Other bhaktas are there for me to have fellowship

The Lord is there to bestow grace

What else does this slave lack anymore?

So many needs confronting me

Many troubles disturbing me each day

Amidst this to have peace

I have the grace to glorify the Lord

Many sufferings are there in this mortal body

Many misunderstandings are there with others

Yet to bear all of them

I have the anand (joy) in my atman to rejoice (in Him)

There is no goodness without a mix of evil

There are no events without so many turning points

To provide peace amidst these

God came to walk with me (each day)

There is no life without

Worries, troubles, sufferings, losses

Sickness added with constraints, conflicts each day

Yet all these are not alone life

Thou He allows many more like these in my life

However He tests me (by allowing all these trails)

The Love that I have to Him won’t change

And nothing will separate me from Him.

(Therefore) I will worship the Holy feet

I will join with other bhaktas

There is no doubt that He will bestow grace

And there is no nobleness more than this.

18-9-15, 2.00, pm. Mathigiri.

After my regular reading of Muktiveda and sadhana, I was reflecting upon the grace of God and the fellowship of other bhaktas.  Though there are constraints and troubles in life, what sustains me each day is His grace, my love to Him and the fellowship of the bhaktas.  When I was meditating upon this, I wrote this song.

BT Song 335.

BT Song 335. Time has come

Life has gone

Living came to an end

Why should I worry?

If things go in any way?

I have toiled enough

I have run enough

Once now stand still

God alone became my companion

Loss and pains I have seen

Enough I have worried

Now at this end of life

Time has come for the Yama to come

I have seen enough affection and love

I lived a content life

Once the memory has gone

Time has come to vacate the place.

18-9-15, Mathigiri. 11.15, pm.

Some kind of joy and peace overwhelmed me throughout the day. It was not a mere emotional feeling.  This afternoon after my regular Muktivedic reading, when I was thinking about the grace of God which I received abundantly, I wrote one song (see song 334).  Then the night after my regular readings, when I sat for a few movements silently the first line in Tamil automatically came in my mind.  Then I wrote this song.  After writing this song I said to the Lord, ‘yes, I am ready for homecoming, as the time has come to vacate the place on earth’.
