BT Song 376

BT Song 376 Don’t you have mercy?
Why you don’t have mercy Oh my Lord
When you see the way people suffer on this earth?
Having too much compassion, though
You came down to this earth—why don’t you….
Having ego as one’s nature
Thinking one’s stand is the correct one
And you seeing the adamant fools
Who gives trouble to others—why don’t you….
Losing one’s own identity along with
Everyday life and foundation, and seeking refuge
Going continent after continent
And seeing the way these people suffer—why you don’t….
Few welcomed them and provided life again
Some hate by rejecting them
Yet seeing the way these refugees themselves
Created such a condition for themselves—why don’t you….
23-1-16, Mathigiri, 2.00 pm
When I again heard about the drowning of many refugees, particularly young children from Syria while trying to cross Greece I felt sorry for them. When I take my Muktiveda to read as per my regular sadhana, I cannot do it. Often the faces of those faceless children came to my mind. Then I said to the Lord ‘why don’t you have mercy towards them’? After stopping my reading I wrote this song.
Of course God is not responsible for the present refugee crisis. Though many refugees flee their home with genuine reason, all are not innocent. So they too need to share their part in such a crisis. Whoever started it, as it is created by humans, we alone need to address it. But people like us who cannot do anything about it, except praying for them, can only vent out our anger against those who are the cause for this only with God, as He understands our frustration.
BT Song 377

BT Song 377 His gift
This day has gone because of God’s grace
Tomorrow also will be gone with His Company
As He is with us in each day
The future will go as He is there to take care of us.
Somehow the time will flee
Along with it our life too will go
It won’t stop because our inability
It won’t go quickly even if I desire it.
God kept a rule to the nature
And accomplished it naturally
If we walk realizing this
We too will complete our race and pass away
Therefore, don’t murmur
It is His responsibility to take care of us
Why this frustration thinking so much
It is not good doing like this
The life is His gift
The entire creation is His hand work
The life on earth is also by His grace
And to live it properly is redemption for us.
25-1-16,(26-1-16), Mathigiri, 12.05 am.
Old people cannot avoid boredom and pessimism as their life is dragging with routine life. Both for me and my mother, life goes as if programmed without any change. Sometimes we won’t remember the date and day. Of course Sunday I will remember as there won’t be any T.V. serial for my mother. However, as a bhakta I receive this very life as a gift from God, though I too am carried by such old age syndrome, yet I often thank God for the meaning and purpose for me to live. When I was thinking about this I wrote this song.
BT Song 378

BT Song 378 Your relationship
Why should I tell them?
To whom should I tell?
Once I realized you
Who dwells within me?
I need not write it on a paper
I need not write any poem about it
I need not get frustrated
‘How to communicate it’.
In order to come unto you
And to remember you each day
I need not sought encouragement or revival
It is enough for me if I have your relationship with me
Is there any language
To communicate that: this is it
And by telling which relationship
I should come unto you?
Can I call myself a sinner?
Or I will address myself as a bhakta
Or I will sing that I am that made man
Who bows at your feet?
Parents have one relationship
Siblings have another one
Relatives have many terms
To address our relationship
All those relationship will get lost one day
In this life on earth
But I don’t find any word to utter
Your relationship will remain with me till the end.
26-1-16(27-1-16), Mathigiri, 12.10 am.
As I sat for my meditation I said: no more reflection, no more prayer, no more thought, no more meditation but try to be in the PRESENCE of God. But I cannot continue in that sadhana for more than a few seconds. Then my mind began to inspire me to write this as a poem. Then I said, ‘no more poems, no more writing’. But I cannot succeed. Because, as I began to say in my mind ‘why should I write and to whom should I share the relationship between me and the Lord,’ then it began to develop as a song. Accepting my failure, at the same time not ready to give up, I wrote this song, though I will continue this sadhana in the coming days.
BT Song 379.

BT Song 379. They ran
Though they ran without responding anything
What are the things they were contemplating within?
Did they rejoice in His Resurrection?
As He already told it?
Did they reach the grave?
Buying the spices
And encouraging the depressed heart
In order to embalm the noble one according to the tradition
Getting up before the sunrise
Looking all around with much fear
And rushing to the grave before others could notice
When they reached the front of the cave
As its mouth remain opened
And they went inside with much hesitation
A man dressed in white dress
Proclaimed that noble news (to them)
“Did you come searching after the Lord?
Who was hanged on the Tree?
Look and see the place where He was kept
And the divine one is already gone
Go and tell you to those
Disciples who belong to Him
That He will come as He promised
And tell this to those fools”.
And those women who were trembling
Losing their words as their tongue get dried
Unable to utter anything as they were afraid
And ran from there
Though they ran without saying anything
What all the things they were thinking in their mind
But when they conveyed the news accordingly
The disciples didn’t believe their words.
28-1-16, 2.30 pm. Mathigiri
This is based on Mark. 16:1-8. As I was reading my regular portion from Muktiveda, when I read this section, as I got the inspiration, I wrote this song. There is nothing to add here as it is a small attempt by me to present these verses in poetic form, as I like to scripture in poetic form to prose one.
BT Song 380.

BT Song 380. Is there any other reason?
Somehow you redeemed me
And gave me a life
Is there any other reason
For me to celebrate?
You bestowed many good things
And gave so many good boons
Is there any other reason
For me to celebrate?
As you gave your shoulder for me
Not allowing me to stoop down due to sorrow
And not falling due to many failures
You become the object of my praise
You gave me bhakti
For me to sing your praise
And to Hail you by uttering many things
And to compose poems
29-1-16, 11.00 pm.
As I sat for my regular prayer and meditation, I wondered if there was any other reason for me to praise and sing to Him other than the many gifts and boons that He gave in my life. Then I wrote this song reflecting it.###
