BT Song 401

BT Song 401 Not possible
Those who have doubts
Become chanchal (frustrated)
They become upset
Very quickly
The double minded
Never will remain stable
And will get irritated
About everyone
Justifying
Personal mistake
Will find fault
What others do
Loosing
Their own peace
Will make others too
Lament like them
How much we try
Their nature won’t change
How much we tell
They won’t accept our advice
Struggle won’t end
Till the end
How much we try
Impossible to change them
We should try to keep patience
As much as possible
If it is not possible
We should try to escape
In order to correct them
If we poke our nose
We will be get pounded
Each day

Doubts are inevitable between relationships. However we are committed and do our best there will always be some doubts on several things in any (close) relationship. Sometimes we may not be in a position to give all kinds of explanations to remove the doubt. Other times we might think that it is unnecessary, as explanation will increase the doubt. But some people are born with that nature and however we try to explain and prove that their doubts are not correct, they are not going to change their nature. And the best option is do your best and keep quiet allowing the time to take its own course.
BT Song 402

BT Song 402 Selfishness
You ask me to do good things in life
And I try to do it each day
Yet as my selfishness come in between
I become a waste, in spite of all that I do
I don’t see any act without having selfishness
I don’t see who has erased the ego
Though we serve others keeping their welfare in mind
I see some kind of selfishness in it.
I seek some kind of pleasure in serving others
I think that I sacrifice in order to live for others
I pay a cost to do good to others
Then I sit and calculate it (or parade the cost)
As this become my condition, what I can do
I do know what to do further
I seek some kind of answer from you
Whatever you tell me, I will accept it.
But there came no response from Him so far
I don’t find any other solution other than Him
I don’t find any meaning in the life which I lived so far
And I don’t have words to say any more.
31-3-16/1-4-16, 12.10 am, Mathigiri
I have become tired of living here at Mathigiri. Coming April 6th I will complete two years moving here from the ashram. The noise and lack of space to move take its toll on me. Rarely do I go outside the gate. Only half an hour in the evening I go to the roof for my evening walk and exercise. Other times I remain confined within my room or the hall. I don’t even go out to get milk and buy other provisions as they come to my door. Of course I console myself that I am doing this for the sake of my mother. As she suffered a lot in her life from childhood, at least I want to give a (relatively) comfortable life which she likes (and also deserves). But even in doing this I see a selfishness behind it. Maybe unknowingly I feel a victim of circumstance. Or I seek some kind of pleasure (satisfaction/joy) in this seva to her? In the name of explaining my plight I parade ‘what kind of price that I pay to uphold my dharma as a son’ to do my seva to my mother. But in doing it I DISPLAY the cost that I pay. In all these I see nothing but selfishness and some kind of hidden ego. And am I playing a ‘victim’ card? Then this night some kind of depression engulfed my mind and I earnestly prayed that the Lord give me some answer. I will abide by it whatever it might be. But there is no response from Him. Maybe as I already know the answer, just seeking it again from Him is merely an excuse. That could be the reason for this silence. However, other than Him I have no solution. When I reflected on what all He has done in His life I couldn’t find any hidden motive, ego or seeking some kind of pleasure/joy or selfishness in His life and seva. At the same time I know that however I try I cannot never imitate Him in this NATURE. Then as a prayer I wrote this song.
BT Song 403

BT Song 403 Means to gain wisdom
Nothing will be gained
By thinking (too) much
It is better to give up
Thinking itself
One become a fool
By talking too much
One can become wise
By giving up talking (altogether)
Thinking creates
Lots of thoughts
Mind will become clear
By giving up thinking
There are some
Benefit in reading
Having desire
To read
Yet those who
Gave up that too
Gained
Noble wisdom
Doing the sadhana of
Remaining quiet
And learning the
Art to control mind
If the foolishness go
Which confuses the mind?
We will gain that
Wisdom automatically
3-4-16, Mathigiri, 2.30 pm.
As I was reading a book, suddenly I began to think about the same subject which I already read in another book. As I began to recollect those points, my mind began to wander and get confused. However, as I am interested to read, think and discuss to accumulate ‘INFORMATION’ then I thought, ‘what is the use of all this information’? Are they going to help me to gain any wisdom or knowledge? Too much thinking itself becomes a snare and talking and discussing them with oneself or others only complicates the confusion more than giving any clarity. Then stopping my reading I wrote this song—but again began to read the book!
BT Song 404

BT Song 404 Dont lament
Let the things that are gone remain past history
Let your lamenting also come to an end
When the one who understands, is there to give company
Why lament unnecessarily?
The one who said that He will never forsake you, and
The one who said that He will protect you as the apple of the eye
And the one who said, ‘why get troubled; come and lay down your burden on me’ is calling you
There is no point of carrying the burden with adamantly
But there is no escape from it either
We need to carry which we are expected to carry
And when the burden becomes unbearable we need to call for help
Some burdens remain pleasant one to carry
And many unbearable burdens will also come
Whether pleasant or unbearable—whichever it might be
Frustration will only increase the burden
Just you see that He will come
Ask Him one more time with much pleading
You seek the one who has the nature to
Open when we knock and to give when we ask
Mathigiri, 6.15, am. 7-4-16
I received one response after reading one poem which I sent to the wife of an ailing husband, who later died due to cancer. That poem moved her heart and she wrote back agreeing with me. As I was reflecting on our common situation where we both are forced to carry a burden, which is beyond our capacity to carry, then I said to myself, it is time to stop even lamenting about this burden. Because frustration is not going to help us to unload the burden but it is going to increase it. But this is not only limited to the two of us. Many of us lament on various burdens and it looks like the Lord is not even listening to our pleas. But patiently waiting for God’s time, at least if we stop getting frustrated, our burden will become very light and then we can soberly think to assess our situation. As I was making my morning tea, stopping it I came to my room and wrote this song.
BT Song 405

BT Song 405 Come and see
Come and see
Listen, as He is knocking at the door
Giving up His own nature
The one who came as our own— Come and see….
You need not go anywhere seeking Him
You need not search every place
You need not do yajnas by reading Veda
And you need not take so many vows– Come and see….
As you open the heart silently
And when you call the Noble one inside
He will come in and mingle with you
And will save you by giving Himself for you–Come and see….
Why this hesitation any more
And thinking which you become so shy
As you rejected so many times in the past
Don’t stand now with any hesitation– Come and see….
He won’t reject you any more
And won’t say anything to hurt us
If we call Him in any situation with much pain
He will never forsake us anymore– Come and see….
I too was like you one time
Even after knowing the truth, I threw Him away
Yet He kept eternal patience
And with much love called me back and made me His own– Come and see….
7-4-16, Mathirigi, 1.15 pm.
As I opened Muktiveda to read today’s portion, suddenly the first line came to mind as an inspiration. I don’t know why that line continues to echo without allowing me to read Muktiveda. So I stopped reading, I wrote this song and then continued my regular reading. There is no reason for such inspiration. We cannot say when it will come, but once it comes, it will compel us to write it down. Otherwise the same lines will continue to echo again and again in our mind.
