BT Song 486
Though I am not a saint, yet I agree with the saying that every saint needs to learn to walk alone. In such a journey personal conviction and unwavering principles are required to walk alone in that path. Interestingly our bhakti in the Lord never allows us to run the race all alone. Unlike other competitions in which one alone will get the first price, in our bhakti all are expected to get the price. At the same time though we all run the bhakti race collectively, yet we should be careful not to cross our track and run in another person’s track. Then both will stumble and fall down. So while we need to carry each other’s burden, we too need to carry our burden so that finally we all will reach the goal and celebrate our bhakti together with the Lord.
BT Song 486

BT Song 486 A race
My condition become pitiable one
And my life become a thamasha for all
Somehow, I live a life for my need
And it became a thamasha, as others cannot understand it
Each day I run my race
And if someone joins and I run with him
And if he, not understanding my game, stops in the middle
Somehow I continue my race
Though we all started collectively
Yet if we began to run as a ‘crowd’
Each one will get stumbled with other
And no one will complete the race at the end
We should stand in our ground firmly
And should run within our track
And not watching how others are running
We should keep our goal alone in front of us
But this race is not a competition
And there is no hurdle for all to win
Though individually we reach the goal
Nothing will stop others to reach it
That is what I am doing each day
But my thought become laughable to others
Ok, let it be, once they understood that
They too will join me and will reach your abode
Till that time let us (two) run together
And encourage others to run their race
Once we all complete the race
Let us join together and rejoice.

BT Song 487
I don’t know the reason, when I got up this morning, the first thought and word came out in the first line. Then I almost forgot about it. When I was doing my regular reading, the same line again came back and began to inspire me. After I stopped reading I wrote this song. The words came so quickly that even before I could write down one line the next line came in my mind. But when I wrote the first four lines in stanza four, when the next line came in my mind, I hesitated, as the metaphor which came was a bit delicate to use. But this is not mine as Tirumular already used it to tell about the nature of mystical or spiritual experience. But considering few people’s concern for me to use such illustrations or words, I tried my best to use some other illustrations or words. But then inspiration refused to flow. Then thinking that once I complete the poem, I will change it and continue to write and complete the poem. But when I read the entire poem again, I found that no other illustration can replace the deep mystery in such spiritual experience. So I left it as it is, though few may feel sad that again I am using similar illustrations or words to express my experience in bhakti. But in Indian religious context they were never treated as profane or erotic.

BT Song 487

BT Song 487 I don’t mind
As I sing a new song
For you each day whole heartedly
And as you too come to me
To have intimate fellowship
As both of us swim
In the river of bliss
Can we share this?
With others?
Each second will pass
In this your divine play
And my body will melt
In the joy that you give
I don’t know
What kind of bliss is this?
An ananda (bliss)
Which I cannot even understand
What is mingle with my senses
My heart wont’ understand
Even if my heart understands it
The physical body won’t understand it
Even if the body understands it
Others cannot understand
Even if others understood
None can explain it
The one which is beyond understanding
We should not try to explain
And trying to explain it
We should not babble
Can a mother
Share with her daughter
The bliss that she had (with her husband)
To her own daughter*
We should receive it
Individually
And should enjoy it
All alone
If we share it with others
Its taste will be gone
Then your heart will become sad
Thinking about it
Is this bhakti
All join to celebrate?
Is this mukti
For all of us to join together?
This is bliss
Beyond bhakti and mukti
And it is the saranagathi
Which we offer at your feet
The saints said that
This is called ‘saranagathi’
And it is a status
As His feet touch our head
Once I mingled
With Him as one
I don’t mind
Whatever others say about it

BT Song 488
As I retired to bed, I simply said to the Lord, it is enough for me to have your grace. Then inspired by that word, I wrote this song on 10th August, which later I completed on 20th by writing the final two stanzas.
BT Song 488

BT Song 488 This is enough
If I have grace alone
It is enough for me as long as I live on this earth
It is enough if you come to have fellowship with me
Till my heart is filled with you— If the grace….
It is enough only if my heart moves
Then I can live with music (to sing about you)
It is enough if I rejoice in my heart
Then I can mingle with you in my senses— If the grace….
It is enough I live only with you
Then joy will overflow from me
It is enough if I have enthusiasm
Then thought will overflow to sing about you— If the grace….
It is enough if I have bhakti alone
As long as I live on this earth
Then mukti will come and join automatically
O Lord Muktesa, your holy feet are enough for me— If the grace….
It is enough if I live like this
You should come and join with me
I should join with the bhaktas
And should sing your praise always— If the grace….

BT Song 489
Some time in DD Bharati, which most of you do not watch, they will show some beautiful natural scenery when there is a gap of a few minutes in between two programs. The beautiful mountains, streams, flowers, dews, birds will mesmerise one’s mind. As I watched one such beautiful scenery recently, I recalled that. Then I said, ‘is nature beautiful or the one who created is beautiful’. Then during my regular walk (between 11.00 to 11.30 pm), as I was reflecting on it, I wrote this song.
BT Song 489

BT Song 489 Beauty
How beautiful is
God’s creation
And as it drags my attention
Beautiful song born within me
As beautiful dews, like pearls
Float on the leaves
The sun which shines
Began to laugh from within them
The birds which walk jumping
Began to create music
The bees began to
Add beat (thala) to it
As the cool breeze
Silently touches the body
The small brook
Began to flow gently
As the flowers blossomed gently
They brought fragrance around
And my heart too
Began to praise thinking Muktesan
How beautifully He has created
And called me to enjoy it
And He bestowed grace
To worship Him mingling with nature

BT Song 490
After reading an exposition on Rg. V. 10.121* by Adelheid Mette (God-Gods—Transcendence, pp. 43- 86, in Bsteh (ed.) Hinduism Questioning Christianity: Lectures—Questions—Interventions, Modling St Gabriel Publications,2007, trans. Ingeborg Bogensberger, Vienna, in cooperation with John Mercer and Adrianne Nagy DaPonte, Boston, original in German: A. Bsteh (ed.), Der Hinduismus als Anfrage an christliche Theologie und Philosophie (Studien zur Religionstheologie;3) Modling, 1997, pp. 43-53} I was asking thinking the difference between the Hindu worldview and Muktiveda. As Mette rightly says, ‘The term “creation” is somewhat misleading, since it recalls the idea of a creatio ex nihilo: the Indian texts mostly speak of an emission, emanation (sarga) or of a ‘making, shaping’ (KR-)’—notes, 14, p. 49 it is difficult to fathom the mystery about creation. The only question that I have to ask God is ‘how you have created’? Whatever might be the answer, considering the complexity in the entire creation it will be a riddle once we begin to understand. This song reflects this meditation.
*This poem is entitled by Paul Thieme as “To the Unknown God” ‘alluding to St. Paul’s sermon in Acts’ (p.48) as each of the stanza ends with the ‘refrain-like with a phrase formulated as a question, “To which god should we assign the sacrificial offering (i.e., to whom should we dedicate the offering?” (p.48)
BT Song 490

BT Song 490 A riddle
Why you have created everything
And gave them all to us?
Who you are (the one who created it)
And kindly tell a bit about you
Out of which you have created everything
And how you organized them
This is not a joke as if we can
Measure an empty space with hands
How many wonders are there?
In this world which is around us
As we clear each riddle
Many more are in them
Even to create a small thing
We toil a lot
Even a small mistake
Is enough to spoil it completely?
This being our condition
What can we think about you?
And how can we even ask
How you have created them all?
As our curiosity increased
We know only one thing to say
‘How’ and ‘how’ is the only question?
That we have to ask you
How much we ask the question
And whatever kind of answer that we receive
The riddle won’t go completely
And we cannot solve it finally
