BT Song 566
I felt that I am taking God for granted and taking too much advantage not realising that He is equally a consuming fire. Though bhakti gives me immense freedom to go and fight with Him, often I have to remind myself that there is another side for God which I should also take seriously.
BT Song 566

BT Song 566 Knee down
Not remaining true to you
If I act for others sake, I will be disappointed
If I don’t do what I promised you
I will cheat myself
Once after kicking the stone
What is the use of lamenting?
What the use is of being troubled
After hitting the rock with the head
You will protect me
If I come with much obedience
If I argue with you due to much pride
Then I will be trapped with my own words
Even after knowing your righteousness
Simply if I despise you
There is no means to be saved
And there is none to face your wrath
Realizing that you are a consuming fire
Humbling myself when you warn
Repeatedly begging you to forgive me
I bowed on my knees in word and spirit before you

BT Song 567
Sometimes God has to show his ‘harsh compassion’ known as ‘marakkarunai in Tamil’ to discipline us. Familiarity breeds contempt. This is too with God also. As I said in the previous poem (566), I take God for granted. And waiting for a proper time, allowing certain incidents to happen in my life, God not only showed who He is but also to redeem me to show where I took Him too lightly, redeemed me like a doctor doing an operation only having compassion on a patient.

BT Song 567
BT Song 567 Again you redeemed me
I remained without understanding
Now I understood your nature
I took you for granted as simple one
And I mocked your love
Blindly I went on my own ways
I transgressed even after your disciplined me
I stumbled and fall head on
Due to my own pride, I get perished
When you told gently, I refused to listen
When you rebuked me harshly, I didn’t accept
Now thinking that there is no other means
You allowed me to get stumbled
Taking courage that I am your bhakta
Taking too much right
Thinking that you will accept whatever I do
How much I dare to do
Waiting for the proper time
Giving proper punishment to me
Having ‘harsh compassion’# for me
You redeemed me again

BT Song 568
Another song inspired by few lines in one of Surdas poems:
Our love for you is the life inside us.
If we lose it, how can we, your servants, survive?
It’s like being alive without life.
It’s like deer being mesmerized by a sound—
the hunter kills without shooting an arrow—
or like the cakor bird who stares at the moon:
the very act of looking is his joy.
So do the sweet traits of Hari, Surda’s Lord,
always resound in our ears.—Surdas, song 405, p. 703

BT Song 568 Should never get lost
It is impossible for me to live
Without having love for you
It is not possible for anyone to walk
With a body not having life in it
Except water there is no place for the fish to survive
There is no goal for bhakti other than you
Without the light of the moon lotus won’t blossom
Where is the means for us to survive without your grace?
It is your compassion which redeemed again
Gave another lease of life not allowing
Get perished while still it remains a bud
Not falling on the land as an unripe fruit
Once I get lost, I understood this
I realized that I should not get lost again
Therefore, I come back again to your feet
And remembered the love that you have for me
There are many things to lose in life
As it is not possible to live without some loss
But once if I lose your love
There is no other means but get perished
When I think about it, I am trembling within me
Longing again for your love
Coming back again before your feet with much trouble
I Begged you again to redeem me

BT Song 569
Another meditation about the importance of relationships with each other. As I previously shared, even a dead person remains a link in our relationship with each other. And realizing this we need to celebrate human relationships.
BT Song 569
BT Song 569 The greatness of relationship
As God has created others also like us
How is it possible for us to remain alone?
while He alone gave kith and kin
Can we live without them?
There is nothing live without relationship in this world
none live without having some kind of relatives
If we get lost all our contact with each other
there is no use by any one of us
both animate and inanimate objects
will have some contact with each other
even if we keep them separately
they will create new relationships
among the living things
for us alone He gave the Sixth sense
and through it to know the greatness of relationship
He gave love and character in us
if we live that we don’t need any of them
there is no loss for others
once we began to live realizing the greatness of them
none will incur any kind of loss in life
Mathigiri, 9-11-16, 11.10 pm.
BT Song 570
Another song enjoying and celebrating the special privilege and status that I received as the slave of God. I often feel that God too is rejoicing to have such intimate fellowship with me as He has unfathomable compassion on me.
BT Song 570 What a punya (merit) I have done
I come again seeking boon
from you Oh charitable one
There is no other refuge other than your feet
there is no lack of grace in you
I will sing and praise you
and I will hail you the holy one
I will tell that this is right time
and beg you to give refuge
I came all alone unto you
I get hold of your feet when I sit at your feet
I received that comfort
the closeness that we have
in our relationship
Who else can understand?
Who is more blessed than me?
Choosing me for your sake
showing the unfathomable compassion on me
having a right over me
you rejoice having relationship with me
What kind of merit I have done
to get this blessed status
when You called me for you
I gave myself without refusing
Therefore, you lord over me
you gave this status as your slave
upholding it on my head
I come to serve you as a slave Mathigiri, 10-11-16, 1.50 pm
