At the same time, we also should realize that God recognizing our free will leaves the final decision in our hand to make the final call. Regarding the question about ‘God’s Will’ versus ‘Human will’ I would say that there is no conflict in it as it is given only by Him. Why should He give something with which He has to confront often. At the same time He gives us our freedom to handle it.

As I was silently thinking about all the forthcoming travel in North from February 7 to April 8, I told the Lord to carry me on His hands and take care of me, particularly coping with the continuous travel visiting so many places and meeting so many different kinds of people and give good health as I often have severe back pain. Then I wrote this song as my prayer.

Though I planned my north visit and went accordingly, yet some unexpected changes make me feel that he alone leads me according to his will. For example, my plan was to see the aunts here in Meragaon and then go to Ranikhet. But now only Richard aunt lives alone as the rest of them passed away, as I want to give some company to her as well as prepare some south Indian food, I stayed two days here. As they have a big bungalow with several rooms with beautiful hill views, I also enjoyed my stay here taking complete rest. Above all, when I gave the butterfly cross stitch to her as a gift, she was so happy. As I thought about all this I wrote this song.

I know as God created and used matter, materialism as such is not evil in itself. And considering the physical needs I cannot also deny the reality of materiality of life. But often my struggle is with the materialistic desire that I have. So today I was facing one such situation. I had to fight a hard battle against myself to resist the materialistic tendency within me. Though I managed to overcome it with the help of the Lord, yet as I was reflecting about it, I wrote this song pleading to the Lord that but for His help and strength I can never overcome materialistic tendencies within me. Accumulating wealth in any form is one thing I try to resist. I am not a miserly person, but I try to live with the minimum to practice the art of simple living. Next temptation is collecting threads and cross stitch patterns wherever available cheaply. Collecting some antiques and things from nature [dry woods, peacock and other birds feather etc.] items is also a great temptation.
