BT Song 691
As I went for my evening walk, I began to reflect on what I wrote in response to Chakaravarthy in song 690. Though I wrote in the final stanza that I never failed in my first Love, yet I know that I miserably failed several times. What the Lord again and again seeks is that first love, not all of my matured understanding about Him or my seva to Him. Then as I began to reflect on which are the areas in which I failed and how I got lost half way through several times, I wrote this song as a penitent song.

BT Song 691 The first love
Once the Lord has said that
I gave up my first love for him
Then I saw where I have gone
Away from him on the way
He came along with me and accompanied me
And without lacking anything he showed his love
Though I get depressed
He upheld me so that I won’t go further deep in it
Though I become upset with him
When I missed even small things
Pampering me and upholding me
He removed even those shortcomings
Even before I would tell him about my need
Realizing it, he bestowed in advance
Even several times though it become excess
He saw that I am not upset with anything
By showing this much love to me
And adding more grace to it
Completely drowning in my love
He almost forgot about his concern for others
Yet due to my fallen nature
Often I betrayed him
Still forgetting all my mistakes
He only asked for that first love
Recalling it back and with a penitent heart
I come back to him seeking his forgiveness
Receiving me back and forgetting the mistakes
Again, he gave me a new life
Once as he received me like this by forgiving
How can I repeat the same mistake again?
Though I forgot my first love
Yet I will live again by loving him more

BT Song 692
Again, some kind of sudden melancholic mood. But I won’t say that this is depression. But for unknown reasons some kind of sadness occupied my mind around 10.00 pm. Then I said to myself that all these are because of my unstable mind. Then one Hindi sentence (or proverb) came to my mind: kabhi gam, kabhi kushi (sometimes sorrow, sometimes joy). Then after my regular reading when I sat for my prayer time, I said that by taking refuge at your feet I can find solace only there. As inspiration compelled, stopping my prayer, I wrote this song and sang it as my prayer.
BT Song 692

692 Your feet are my refuge
Without your feet I don’t know any other place of refuge
Therefore, I come to your presence
Taking pity on me, save me
Holding me on your hands protect me
One time I am happy with joy
Next minutes I drown in sorrow
This becomes my condition
How to overcome this?
Some unknown sorrow
Is attacking my heart
Next movement
I am rejoicing with happiness
The circumstance is not the reason for this
Those who are around me are not responsible for this
I have an unstable mind
Each day I struggle with it
Chanchal (frustration) becomes my nature
Getting frustrated become my habit
I don’t have courage
I stumble often, which becomes a routine
I know only this for sure
I know that you are the alternative to this
Seeking that I come to you
And stand before taking refuge in you
Give me place at your feet
Accept me assuring not get bewildered
Removing my chanchal
Giving your feet and save me once more

BT Song 693
Several times I feel sorry for God as he is forced to listen to my songs each day. Others can ignore it by not reading it. But poor God he has no means to escape from listening to my poems, often questioning, condemning, demanding and advising him. Really it is very difficult to be God on this earth, particularly to a person like me
BT Song 693

BT Song 693 His mistake
Don’t drag God for
Unnecessarily confrontation
Don’t ask him
Unnecessary questions
After creating us
In vain
He is lamenting
With much sorrow
How many
Creatures he has created
Along with them
He also created nature
But he never
Had any struggle
With any one of them
Like this that he has with us
How can I say this?
Are they one or two?
Is it for one day or two days?
How can I share?
We ask him
Thousands of questions
Even challenge him
To come and confront us
The poor one
Who never knew about sin?
Finally understood
About sin through us
The one who
Never experienced sorrow
Finally drowned in sorrow
Because of us each day
He gave the
Sense of reason
Asked us to
Live with reason
Along with it
He created us in HIS image
So that we can worshiping him
By knowing him
That alone
Become a mistake
Therefore, he is
Facing this much trouble
If he has created us
Like the animals
Now he need not
Suffer like this
Added to this
As he has to listen to my poems
He would have never
Faced such wretched condition

BT Song 694
Evangelism is part of our bhakti. As Stephen Neil has said, ‘every Christian is a missionary or a mistake’. And as a bhakta we are not only to witness for the Lord but to share about him with near and dear ones. But there is no uniformity in how to do it. Each one is called to do that according to her call and nature. However, our life as a bhakta praising him and worshiping each day through our lives also will be one of those endeavors. Of course, we cannot do it just as a strategy but it should come naturally and spontaneously. Like Gandhiji we cannot say that ‘my life is my message’. However, our bhakti can point out that message to others through our worship.

BT Song 694 Just worship
Just try to worship him each day
Try to savor the sweetness of his name everyday
Just ask about the greatness about his grace
Just try to share about his glory
What is the blessing of being born as human?
Without worshipping him wholeheartedly
What is the purpose of living as his bhakta?
Not dwelling in bhakti and praising him?
Even though we are unworthy
He gave himself as a gift for us
Though we are unable to understand him completely
He bestowed mukti freely
We cannot understand all of his acts
We cannot understand the miracles and signs
Yet in order to redeem us what he has done
That one thing we know clearly
Will others know what it is?
Will they understand even if share about that redemption
He came according to the need of each one
Overcoming them with his love he won them for him
It is enough to praise him thinking about it
By that his name will be glorified
We would like to share about his grace
Then the world will understand about it

BT Song 695
Whenever I write any song with a melancholic note, I don’t like it. But as the inspiration compels, I write them. Similarly with much hesitation alone I want to share with others. Whereas when it comes to writing any song of praise, both my body and mind (heart) becomes very light and I am overwhelmed by its effects on me. Sometimes I cannot even write down my words as the words will flow like a river not allowing me to put them in words. Before I could complete one sentence the next will begin to echo in my mind. So naturally I prefer to write songs of praises, but tragically I write more songs of melancholy.
BT Song 695

BT Song 695 Praising
You dwell among praises
I come to sing and praise you
You called me to sing your praises
I live by sing your praises
You are worthy to be praised
I live only to praise you
You rejoice in our praises
I too rejoice in singing your praises
There is a reason for me to praise you
There is a secret behind this praising
When I think about what you have done for me
My heart prompts only to sing your praises
O my eternal God I understand your glory
When the whole creation praises you
When the bhaktas join together
Only we can hear the songs of praises
How many noises are there in everyday life?
How much we get irritated by that
But there is a remedy for that in singing your praise
There is peace only in that
When we come to submit our supplications
Some kind of burden will be there in our heart
We will weep seeking some kind of comfort
Along with it some kind of sorrow will overcome us
But when we sing your praise, joy will overflow
Only by praising you the troubles of heart will go
The burden of both body and heart will go
We will float like the silk cotton in the air
Realizing this I sing your praises
With contentment of my heart, I bless you
Once I received this bliss
I won’t do anything other than praise.
