Life is there to live
After one Sat-sang, one person asked the question: What is the purpose of this life? In response I said: The only purpose in life is to live’. He was taken back as he expected some kind of philosophical answer from me as many Indians used to give [particularly the swamijies]. I continued: Life is not maya and creation is good. All is not lost because something has gone wrong. God knows how to restore the damage. If you don’t believe in God, nature knows how to restore. We came to this world only to live.
Then he asked: What would happen after death?
DB: First die and then come back and tell what actually happened. Again he was taken back. I continued: don’t be deluded by all the philosophical talks and discussions. They are very important and we need to learn a lot from them. But I try to live ONE DAY AT A TIME, taking each day life seriously and if possible try to live each moment of the day concentrating on the work that is on my hand. We need to think and plan for our future, but as we cannot live the future at present, to live properly in the future we should try to live the present properly. Sounds philosophical. Then take this philosophy seriously and make it the motto of your life. At least this is what I do. That is why I put the theme of this website as ‘Live is there to live’.
