Mockery of Democracy

Hindi and English

A Tamil proverb says: though one got food, before it could reach as the fingers stumbled with the teeth all the food fell down on the floor Another one says: If the village is divided; it is an opportunity for the drama player to celebrate [ஊர் இரண்டு பட்டால் கூத்தாடிக்கு கொண்டாட்டம்], which means both the parties will invite them to perform the same drama two times on different days in the same village.

This is proved by the way as the politicians again made democracy as a mockery in Karnataka.  Though Congress won the election and even got an absolute majority to form the government, it may miss the opportunity to form the government.  Even if it manages after High Command’s interference, [poor Karghil again has to rush back to Delhi to get instruction from the kitchen Cabinet of Sonia family] there is no guarantee that they will complete the full term.  As the warring faction, that too caste based which is very strong factor in most of the states in India and particularly in Karnataka which openly displayed by the

demands and counter demands to bring their own Chief Minister, it will give an opportunity for the BJP to hijack the mandate of the people through horse trading, in which it has lots of experience.  Of course several political parties have done the same in the party, but BJP not only epitomizes the horse trade but even legitimized it by claiming a ‘CLEAN AND STABLE’ government which people rejected in the election because of the rampant corruption in its State Governments . This happened in Madhya Pradesh, also in Karnataka and will again happen as Congress openly gives an invitation to do that.

In all this again all the politicians will make the people fools who voted for them knowing well that they cannot TRUST them ever.  Democracy, like modern Gadgets and Social Media, becomes an entity with which we can neither live with it nor without it.  Anyhow this is part of democracy as it becomes a necessary evil.
