Proof of the pudding is in eating

After the post-Balakot strike, for the first one or two days I watched some TV news debates in which only retired army personnel and retired Ambassadors and other experts, not the politician, participated.. But once the political parties tried to make cash out of it, I stopped watching it. Now, many people want proof from the government to establish their claims about the damage down at Balakot. According to my understanding, we cannot and need not to ask the government to do that. Because, as per my lay person’s perspective, unlike his predecessors, Modi ‘ALLOWED’ note he never ‘ASKED’ the Army to take appropriate action for the Pulwama attack. And the Army has done its professional job and as an Indian I trust my army.

Meanwhile, as the F 16 Air jet was gunned down by an old Miraj plane, the company that produced F 16 was rattled, as it will affect its business interest. America also does not want to accept the fact that its arms, supplied with a condition to Pakistan, were misused. Meanwhile, keeping its economic interest in Pakistan, China, which invested more than 40 million dollars in Pakistan, that too run via POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir), does not want its business interest disturbed because of the conflict in that area. So as usual, remaining the ‘keeper of the milk at the same time friend of the cat’, (பாலுக்கும் காவல், பூனைக்கும் தோழன்) it asks both India and Pakistan to de-escalate the tension.  This is called Satan quoting the bible.

Now any demand by the interested people (America, F 16 Company, China, politicians etc.) through the local, national and International media (by giving enough money to manipulate them—what is known as ‘paid news’) demands all kinds of proof to show the damage done at Balakot. Of course, the Indian Arm force only hit two trees and killed a crow. But see the reaction in Pakistan and the steps that it takes there. So the proof of the pudding is in eating it. As a lay Indian, I trust my army and I don’t need any more proof about their actions which they need not disclose.

By merely circulating satellite images, one cannot prove or disprove anything now in this communication era as we know well that anything could be manipulated while shared in electronic media. So we need to accept the old Tamil saying: what is seen by the eyes, or heard by the ear is wrong, but we need to analyze thoroughly before coming to any conclusion. கண்ணால் காண்பதுவும் பொய், காதால் கேட்பதுவும் பொய், தீர விசாரிப்பதே மெய்.

Post script: President Trump needs Pakistan’s help to bail him out from Afghanistan. But Imran keeps the Trump card viz., Al-Qaida. But he can only show it to President Trump but cannot play it to make America dance according to his military tunes. So everyone is trapped in this geo-politics cum economic reasons. And we Indians pay the price for that.
