Some people are very smart in their talk to get things done as per their wish. They will talk in such a way that you won’t even feel that you are getting trapped in it. In fact, they will try to communicate that what they try to do is only for our needs and good. Once they accomplish their task when we sit and calculate the losses, then it will be too late. As one such incident happened in our neighbourhood I wrote this song thinking about such people.

For the first time I experienced the pain of betrayal by someone whom I brought up as my own grandchild. No need to narrate the story, as every betrayal has the same result—back stabbing.

I don’t have a mind to think any more
I don’t know what to do further
I don’t know which direction I should go?
And I don’t have strength to do anything
I become like a dust caught in a whirlpool
I become a prisoner of circumstance
Though the freedom which I long came on its own
Somehow, I am afraid to go outside
I have done one unnecessary thing in vain
I bought pain by paying my own money
Thinking that I am doing good
I have done black magic against me on my own cost
I scratched my head with a burning stick
I lost the peace of mind because of the wound
Though I applied much medicine
The wound is not healed
Why this trouble in this old age
I don’t know how to lament about it
There is no means to escape by any means
But I don’t have the courage to carry it anymore
But I learnt one good lesson through this
I paid the cost for that
Knowing that it will burn my finger I put it in fire
I realized only after my finger get burned

Secular Song 544
The Corona pandemic is teaching one lesson to humanity—THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN TOUCH. I don’t mean not only the physical touch but also the human approach in our relationship with others. Yesterday I received one distress call and another message from youngsters expressing their fear about this pandemic in India. We the senior citizens have the responsibility to stretch our moral support to them with encouraging words.
Every sneezing or slight cough or cold is not a symptom of Corona. At the same time, we should not take them very lightly either. This pandemic has some kind of psychological impact in our mind creating some crisis. Even some began to feel some kind of irritation in their throat and pain even though there is no such symptom. Too much information, particularly about the symptoms of Corona created some kind of psychological fear in people’s minds.
So during this period of ordeal we all need to come together—keeping the social distance to help each other by reaching each other through messages, telephone calls, video talk etc. and co-operate with the government to overcome this situation.

They are confined within the house
And long to go outside
Going leisurely for walking
And enjoying cool breeze

Gossiping with others
Without any place to walk

Not allowing others’ breath to touch them

As now become remote to them
Understanding the reality of the situation
They now understand the importance of relationship
Not showing any kind of discrimination
Not discriminating between rich and poor
Because of Corona which brought everyone
Under its control
Even ‘Clean Indian’ scheme also
Going on well without any break
And spray now cleans
Every place which human beings touched
But in this commotion
Unable to do any kind of politics
Without any opportunity to make comments
The opposition party is frustrated
As the Chinese started it
The entire world is troubled now
Not knowing where this will end
All are troubled very much
But those who passed 60 years
Without showing any kind of frustration
Live the life as usual
And they encourage others also
They say that the curfew which Modiji declared
Is correct one
And they advise others to live
With relatives whom they forgot in the past

Though success can bring confidence and joy in life, still it is defeat which alone can bring ‘wisdom’ to face many realities in life. We might forget the success soon and over confidence might blind our eyes to see the pitfall in front of us. But defeat will alert us to be careful and wise enough to take steps cautiously. Of course as overconfidence is dangerous, over cautiousness also might discourage us to proceed further. But there is no other option but to get back from a fall and walk further keeping the goal in front of us.
