Song 226

Song 226 If I escape that is enough
I become tired that I know
But I cannot give it up that too I understood
As I get trapped in between
I get pressed on both the ends
Though I thought that it is enough
There is no way to escape
Though I try to run away
There is no chance to escape
If it is others’ burden
I can unload it for some time
Once I become my own burden
Where to I unload it
When I was carrying, I never realized its burden
I never become tired of it
Once I sat for some time to take rest
Then I don’t have the courage to carry it again
Thinking that if someone is available
I can load it on them
As I began to search for them
They too do the same
Thinking that it is enough to escape
Carrying me own burden again
Before others sought my help (to carry them)
I run away my heels touching my back
31-8-16, (1-9-16) 12.30 am Mathigiri
I always read two books every day. When I finish a few pages in one book, I will take another book. When I completed the first reading, as I took the second book, I felt very tired and I couldn’t concentrate on my reading. Closing the book, I got up to prepare my bed. That time I said to myself, ‘I know that I cannot do it, but at the same time I cannot avoid it. I become tired of carrying my own burden’. Then when I sat on my bed, as the inspiration came, I wrote this song within three minutes very quickly.
Song 227

Song 227 Means to survive
Now I understood the world
All the truths become very clear to me
If I am caught in between two extremes
I know the way to escape from both
We should go along with the current
Once we get opportunity, we should come out
Like a living fish, when get washed, we should try to escape
And be careful in all areas of life
We should show the head to another fish
And tail to the snake (to escape)
in spite of it if there came any danger of getting trapped
We should try to escape with panic.
Don’t remain adamant unnecessarily
Don’t get trapped by talking too much
Silently we should do the work
Carefully get it accomplished
There is no point of bragging too much
No point in making too much drama
If you call others to interfere
Finally, everything will get spoiled
I told what I know
I try to warn you
If you are cleaver, you should know how to survive
If not, you will be trapped.
Mathigiri, 1-9-16, 8.15 am.
Remain adamant and refuse to reconcile with your own family member after some quarrel won’t help anyone. There is a time to fight and time to reconcile. This is true particularly with one’s own mother as both a child and mother cannot remain estranged for too long.
Secular Song 228

Song 228 Try to escape
There are many unacceptable things
We are unable to accept or oppose them
When we think about them we become upset
But what else can we do?
How much we say they are not ready to accept it
Ho much we try to explain they couldn’t understand it
When we use gentle means then they take it lightly
When we rebuke then they become very sad (or upset)
If we keep within us, then our pressure increases
If we openly discuss it, then it ends in argument
Unable to cope with the pressure and unable to argue
Our condition become more wretched
There is only one alternative to this
If we do this, it is good for all
Not talking anything and as usual keeping silence
It is better to live as a ‘mouni’ (silent) person
All clearly understood this
But unable to follow it
The question ‘who to keep silence’
Creates again an unending argument
If we are caught in this whirlpool
Till the end there is no way to escape
We should be careful not get in it
Otherwise, we will be drowned in it
Mathigiri,1-9-16, 11.50 pm.
When I was discussing with one person about the recent tussles in his home and life I thought this evening that there are so many things which are not acceptable to us. How much we try to communicate, others are not ready to listen to us. At the same time if we keep quiet it not only increases our pressure but sometimes the issues go beyond our control. I think we cannot escape from this vicious cycle. The best solution is close our eyes and ear and avoid all kinds of arguments over any issue. But the question comes, ‘what about those who are affected by our silence and not interfering to do justice to the affected person’? Well, it depends upon so many other ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ and questions like: where to talk, when to talk, why to talk and how to talk’.
Song 229

Song 229 Don’t blow out of proportion
Don’t talk unnecessarily about others
Please don’t open your mouth
Who knows others tension
Who can understand their pain?
What they share is very limited
Millions of thoughts are behind it
How much do you understood in what they shared
Therefore, keeping quiet is good
Don’t say you want to found solution (to their problem)
Don’t unnecessarily dig in that matter
If you allow it to cool down for sometime
They will find their own solution
In order to unload their burden
If they say bit and piece
Don’t blow it out of proportion
Adding more to it with your own imagination
They never shared it
So that the whole world can know about it
They never even requested you
To share with the entire world
If possible, say few comforting words
Otherwise shut up your mouth
Don’t spread rumours
First stop talking about it
2-9-16, Mathigiri, 8.15 am.
When others share some of their burden to us, they never share so that we will make it known to all. Above all, what we share won’t represent the whole truth as they never shared their entire burden or we understood the context of their struggle. That is why I hate gossip and if I cannot give some comfortable words, I will rather keep quiet than to spread all kinds of rumours about them. Above all, in the name of giving counsel I never try to dig into the matter seeking more details. Sometimes they will only give some hint or share only those matters which become too much for them to bear. Unless they want to share all the details, it is better not to dig for more details.
Song 230

230 Saint Mother
Mother, to do good to us
You came among us voluntarily
You took care of the poor
By having mercy on them
Leaving your own place
You came to our land to do seva
By giving yourself, you won our hearts
And become a mother to all
By seeking the destitute
You took care of them till the end
You become that relation (as mother)
So that none will be called orphan
Transcending the boundaries and countries
You went around the entire world
You won the whole world
Through your seva
By uplifting you as a ‘Saint’
We too salute you
Keeping you as the limit of seva
We will proclaim your fame
But not keeping you at distance
By calling you as ‘Saint’
calling you as ‘MOTHER’
we will be consoled as before
Mathigiri, 4-9-16 2.00 pm.
A tribute to ‘Saint Mother’.
It is long overdue and finally she got the recognition which she deserves. However, for me and many of us, though she will be known as ‘St. Teresa of Kolkata’ she will continue to remain as a ‘Mother’ of course a ‘Saintly Mother’ for the entire world. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that if you address one as merely ‘mother’ then people will recognize that it means ‘St. Mother Theresa’. What a noble life that lived in our time.
Note:
Who cares about all the so-called controversy about her? Even if God cannot be spared, why are they going to leave any human being? The following one I wrote on the day when she passed away in Hindi. Though it need to be corrected by someone who knows Hindi well, I would like to share this as it is:
Mother is no more
Mother is no more
Making humanity
As an orphan
The embodiment of love
Has gone away from us
May be God thought
That Mother has tired now
By doing so much service
and to give some rest
He has called her with Him
The infants and little children
The lam and deaf and destitute
Now will look unto whom
Oh God, think what can we do now
But what Mother has started
In order to carry that service further
Now you be with those Sisters by strengthening them
In this estranged world
Send more Mother Theresa
So that we will get some respite
Thinking that God has not abandoned us
5-9-1997, Erode.
This I wrote to give the tribute to Mother Theresa whom I called even that time as St. Theresa before Catholic Church canonized her as a saint.
