Secular Song 436

Secular Song 436 Who is correct?
There is no use
Only thinking about the shortcomings
There is none who lived
Without any shortcomings
When we think about
Their shortcomings
We also should calculate
Their good characters
Thinking about the good nature
Forgetting the shortcomings
We should live
Together with others
But taking advantage of it
If they continue to live
With their shortcomings
Then we should discipline them
We should give up
Measuring others
By comparing
Our own righteousness
Then if the question comes
‘Which one is righteous?’
We should point to the
Common righteousness for all
There is no common
Righteousness in this world
Which is
Acceptable to all
No one has the
Qualification to
Give the final
Answer in this
Appreciating the good things
Disciplining the shortcomings
And living thinking
About others’ welfare
Should become
The common righteousness
And we should create such an
Opportunity for all

Secular Song 437
After long thinking and struggling, I finally made a decision about my involvement with one activity, which I accept but never wanted in my life. In spite of my lack of interest, I was involved in keeping the common interest with the help and co-operation of others. But as the time passed, slowly others, who initiated that activity and others co-operated collectively began to leave one by one due to various reasons. Finally, I ended up taking most of the responsibility, which I never liked. That activity is the one which I never liked. Anyhow, as the situation finally forced me to take the crucial decision of giving up my responsibility, I decided to take it without any remorse or regret as I never made any commitment to that activity. When the crucial decision finally came on its own due to the behavior and response of few, then with firm resolution I have decided to keep away from it not involving too much in it any more. As this decision suddenly released both my mind and body and I felt very light and great relief in body and mind. As I was thinking about it, I said, ‘finally I got the rest and retirement which I longed for arrived on its own due to some unwanted incidents.’ Then as inspiration came I wrote this song, reflecting that great release both in body and mind.
Secular Sog 437

Secular Song 437 The burden which has gone
Finally, I got
The rest which I wanted
The life for which I was longing
Came automatically on its own
After running too much
And become tired
The rest came both
To the body and mind
Though I ran
For my needs
Though I carried
Unnecessarily
I never attained that
Joy for which I was searching
There was no happiness
In the life that I lived
I carried
My own burden
I carried others’ burden
With much patience
Finally, as the body
Become worn out
I unloaded
Both these burdens
When I tried
To carry the burden
Those around me
Uploaded it on me
When I wanted
To unload it
None refuse
To come and help
We born as
Others’ burden
We grew up
As others carried us
But when the burden
Came to us
Somehow, we
Refused to carry it
I really marvelled
What kind of world is this?
Then I realized that
This is the nature of this world
But when I realized that
I am also
One among them
I bowed my head with much shyness

Secular Song 438
Last week the summer was a bit extreme here considering the climate of our place which always remains cool even in summer. For the past two days the heat became unbearable and we all were longing for the rain. Finally the expected rain came yesterday and today. Now our climate has returned back to its normal level. As rain was pouring down with lightning and thunder, I sat quietly enjoying the rain—which is my favorite season. After the rain when the cool breeze began to blow I almost forgot myself and became one with nature. I don’t want to even come out from that experience and want to live eternally in it. But I had to come out as I needed to go to bed. Then as the rain and cool breeze gave a divine bliss, as the inspiration came I wrote this song dedicated to this wonderful summer rain—which is everybody’s savior in hot summer.
Secular Song 438 கோடை மழை
இயற்கையில் தோன்றும்
நிகழ்வுகள் எல்லாம்
இதயத்தை மெல்ல
வருடியே கொடுக்கும்
இனிய அலைகள்
பலவும் எழுப்பி
இயற்கையோடு
ஒன்ற வைக்கும்
கோடை வெயில்
தகித்த பின்னே
குளிர்ந்த மழையும்
வந்த போது
மேனி வருடும்
இனிய தென்றல்
இந்த உலகை
மறக்க வைக்கும்
முழவு போன்று
அதிர முழங்கி
இடியும் மின்னல்
ஒன்று சேர
எல்லை இல்லா
விரிந்த வானில்
ஏறி நம்மை
பறக்க வைக்கும்
வறண்ட பூமி
நீரைப் பருக
தேரை எல்லாம்
வாழ்த்தி ஒலிக்கும்
இவற்றில் ஒன்றி
கலந்த பின்னே
மீண்டும் திரும்ப
இதயம் மறுக்கும்

Secular Song 438 Summer rain
All that happens
In nature
Will touch
Our heart gently
They will create
Pleasant moments
And will make us
To mingle with nature
When the
Cool rain came
After a
Severe summer
The cool breeze
Which touches our body very gently
Will make us
To forget this world
Roaring like a drum
As the thunder
Mingling
With lightning
They will make
Us to soar
High
In the sky
As the parched
Land drinks the rain water
All the frogs
Will praise with singing
Once we mingle
With this nature
The heart will
Refuse to come back (from it)

Secular Song 439
“No strength in body, courage in heart and cash on hand” [கையில காசு இல்ல, உடல்ல தெம்பு இல்ல, மனசுல தைரியம் இல்ல] are the three sentences which my mother often makes almost several times in a week (thank god not every day). Then with a smile I used to respond by saying, “without all these the way you fry me on the pan is unbearable. And if you have all the three then no one can stand before you”. But my mother lives a royal life compared to other old people, though she never recognizes this. As usual, when she lamented uttering these three sentences, I thought about those old people living in an orphanage actually without all the three. Thanks to the generous hearted people who take care of them. As I was thinking what they would say about this I wrote this song and dedicated it to all such people living in old age homes.
Secular Song 439 வேறென்ன சொல்ல
தெம்பில்லை உடலிலே
துணிவில்லை மனதிலே
காசில்லை கையிலே
கடைத்தேற்ற ஆளில்லை
இருந்த போது
வந்தவங்க
எண்ணிக்கையில்
அடங்குமோ
இப்ப எல்லாம்
போனபின்னே
என்னவாச்சு
தெரியுமா
“என்னமா
உழைச்சாங்க”
என்று மெச்சி
புகழ்ந்தாங்க
இருந்த காச
கேட்டு வாங்கி
விருப்பம்போல
வாழ்ந்தாங்க
இறுதியிலே
எல்லாமே
செலவு செஞ்ச
பின்னாலே
எதுக்குமே
லாயக்கில்ல
என்று சொல்லிப்
போனாங்க
இதையெல்லாம்
இப்ப சொல்லி
என்ன பயன்
என்பாங்க
இதுக்கு மட்டும்
தெம்பு இப்போ
இருக்கான்னு
கேட்பாங்க
சரி விடு
போகட்டும்
வேறேன்ன
சொல்லிட
சத்தம் போட
தெம்பு இல்ல
நாங்க படுக்க
போகிறோம்

Secular Song 439 What else to say?
There is no strength in the body
There is no courage in the heart
There is no cash on the hand
There is no one to take care of us
Are they
Only few
Who came to us?
When did we had all of them?
Do you know?
What happened now?
Once all
The three have gone
“How they
Toiled in life”
They praised us
Very much
Asking the money
Which we had
They lived
As they liked
Once they
Spent
All the
Money that we had
They left
Us by saying
That we are
Good for nothing
But what is the
Use now
In saying all these?
They will tell
Do you have any?
Strength now
To complaint about this?
They will ask
Ok let it be
What else
Can we say?
Now about it
Now we don’t have
Strength to shout
Therefore we are
Going to bed

Secular Song 440
We often hear the statement: ‘why this happens only to me’? Of course we also made or at least thought in similar line. But when we step in other’s shoe then we can easily realize that nothing happens to one which never happened to others. To get the answer one need to replace one’s place by seeing the incident from other’s point of view. Then we can learn to accept the unwanted things with much less stress as we rejoice when things happen as we wanted.
Secular Song 440 அனைவர்க்கும் ஒன்று
விரும்பாத ஒன்று
தன்போல் வந்திடும்
வேண்டிடும் ஒன்று
விலகியே செல்லும்
இதுபோன்ற இரண்டு
எதிரெதிர் நிலையில்
இதயம் அகப்பட
அல்லாடக் கூடும்
எதுநம் விருப்பம்
ஆன போதும்
பொறுப்பு மட்டும்
நம்மிடம் இல்லை
பிறருடன் நாமும்
வாழ்ந்திடும் போது
முடிவு என்றும்
நம்மிடம் இல்லை
இந்த உண்மை
பொதுவான ஓன்று
எவருக்கும் இதுபோல்
நடப்பதும் உண்டு
நாமும் பிறரும்
இடத்தை மாற்ற
நம்போல் அவர்க்கும்
நடப்பது உண்டு
வேண்டிய ஒன்று
வந்தால் ஏற்று
விரும்பாத ஒன்று
வந்தால் பொறுத்து
இருவரின் இடத்தை
மாற்றி வைத்து
மாறி வாழ
பழகிக் கொள்வோம்
மத்திகிரி, 2-5-18, மதியம் 2.35
Secular Song 440 The same for all
When unwanted
Comes on its own
The one which we want
Will go away from us
Got between
Such two extremes
The heart also
Get troubled
Whichever might be?
Our longing
The decision is
Not only in our hands
When we live
With others
The final decision
Is not only with us
This truth is
Common for all
This might happen
To anyone
When we
Exchange our places
The same might
Happen to them also
Receiving happily
When we wanted comes
And accepting when
Unwanted comes
Replacing both
Our respective places
Let us learn
To live as the change demands
