451 Nobody knows
Written with talent
And when explained properly
Several things which remain unclear
Will become very clear
Though we understood clearly
When few questions arise
When there was no answer
Only confusion will remain
Though some managed
To explain
Because of their
Personal talent
They will explain
Always keeping
Their own ideology
This also we should know
Which one is
Correct in the end?
When this question
Comes before us
Nobody knows
The answer for this
Alone would be
Correct for ever
Therefore when we
Read anything
We should give up
Analyzing deeply about it
What they try to
Say in general
This alone
We should try to understand
Mathigiri, 8-6-2018, 11.20 p.m.
Some of my readings on few topics like caste or dharma and other readings like commentaries forced me to come to this conclusion that a normal reader should give up probing deeply to analyze which view is correct as she might find different views are presented by various scholars on the same subject. If we take independently them individually all looks correct. But when we began to compare one with the other, then we can find lots of contradiction. Of course there is a place for such a deep level of understanding, but we should leave that task to scholars who have specialized in those particular subjects. A simple reader (like me) should be content to know what is the general information that can get about the subject. Otherwise she will end up finding only inconsistencies and contradictions in many subjects (particular related to theology, sociology and anthropology, to name only few).
For example about dharmasastras. Many of the traditions and customs are very fluid at local level which is not recorded in textual traditions. Particularly those written in Sanskrit only represents about the so called upper castes leaving several other people outside it. Even several scholars who have written books on Dharmasastras have only followed the Sanskrit text. Though their writings are helpful for us to understand about these written texts (that too in Sanskrit), they never represent the ground reality on sociology about which Raheja rightly observes:
…This ahistorical reading of the place of textual traditions in contemporary social life is problematic, given recent studies of nineteenth-century colonial attempts to actively construct a unitary Hindu “law” concerning marriage and inheritance; textual traditions were often invoked in order to homogenize and rigidify fluid and variable local customs….—“Crying When She’s Born, and Crying When She Goes Away”: Marriage and the Idiom of the Gift in Pahansu Song Performance, Gloria Goodwin Raheja, pp. 19-59, in Lindsey Harlan and Paul B. Courtright eds. From the Margins of Hindu Marriage: Essays on Gender, Religion, and Culture, New York, Oxford University Press, 1995, p. 22

452Don’t become a tortoise
Why should we do what others are doing?
Then we will get trapped in troubled
Don’t we have our own mind?
Listen what I say to you
If a cat marks on the body like a tiger
Will it ever become a tiger?
If a tortoise spreads its tiny wings
Will it ever become a peacock?
Our life also become like the donkey
Which went to pilgrimage like a Brahmin? @
As I experienced this I say with much compassion
Better you survive listening to me
We have our own talents
It is better for us to understand it
When we use them
Surely we will win by our talents
When we learn what others have achieved
We might get inspiration
But when we attempt to imitate it
We will only face defeat
We should know about others’ talents
And should be motivated by them
Then using our own talents
We also should achieve like them
@ A Tamil proverb.
Mathigiri, 9-6-2018, 2.50
Getting inspiration from other’s talents and challenged by their achievement alone help us to achieve like them. Mere imitation of what they have done won’t be useful in our life.

453Losses
We become like the water which was irrigated to weed
We become tired by serving the vain people
As we sowed out of season
We harvested husk and tried to cook it
But there is some benefit in this
It is better for all to understand this
When we don’t listen to others when they advised us
We will learn only through our experience
What is the use of weeping?
Over the spoiled milk
Once we change it as pannier (Indian cheese)
It will become a good food
Don’t blame thinking about the loss
Don’t get irritated on others for this
They too have lost so much because of us
It is better for us to understand this
There is no life without loss for anyone
Those who discouraged by loss never won
When we make the loss as the effort
Surely we too will reap double fold
Mathigiri, 20-6-2018, 2.00 p.m.
There is point in weeping over the spoiled milk. Loss is inevitable in life. But those who make the loss as the investment then they can gain double fold.

454Pleasant sorrows
Sorrow is also
Pleasant one
When we understand
It properly
If we need
Happiness
Without sorrow
What else is there to give?
Where one can
Find a good teacher
Other than sorrow
To teach us properly
It alone has
The strength
To imprint deeply
In our mind
It will change
Even a fool as a wise man
It will help us to
Understand life completely
It will point out
Which one is true and which one is false
And standing as our shadow
It will teach us
The loneliness
That it provides is important one
There alone we will
Understand the truth properly
Unlike the pleasure
Which disappears suddenly?
Remaining for long time
It will do many good things
There alone
Patience will begin
It will also add
Strength in our heart
Accompanying like a
True friend
It will help us to understand
Those who are around us
Once we enjoyed
All these benefits in sorrow
There is no more
Burden in it
Mathigiri, 22-6-2018, 11.40 p.m.
There is a Hindi proverb: kabi gam; kabi kushi = there is sorrow sometime; some time happiness. But we understand life properly through sorrow than when we learn through happiness. Once we understand so many benefits which sorrow brings in our life, then we won’t consider it as a burden when it comes.

455Should stand bye
I am are forced to stand bit away
It makes me to stand alone
Though I was very busy and active
When I see the current situation—I am forced….
Many came with much enthusiasm
They involved with much uproar
As the days went and as their interest is gone
They walked away—I am forced….
The early enthusiasm
Will go away as the day moves
Those who made uproar
Will disappear as the time goes
All the new things which are started
Will become a bore in the long time
Nothing new in this
We alone should understand this—I am forced….
Though many who experienced told about it to us
It was not reaching only to our mind
How many times we too share
Others too won’t understand it—I am forced….
When the heat is too much when we touch
We should keep away from it
Those who were injured when say
We too should learn a bit—I am forced….
Mathigiri, 15-7-2018, 11.00 p.m.
There is an old joke: when a person opens the car to his wife, there are two reasons for it: either the car is new or the wife is new. When both become old he will park the car and walk away—sometime not evening closing his side door properly. All the initial enthusiasm in every new project will die in the long run. One married person told to another married person when they were talking about life: ‘to keep the romance alive we need to work hard and imagine so many new methods.’ As I was sitting in the same car with them I responded by joking, ‘thank god you said about ‘new method’ not ‘new life partner’. Then they both laughed. When I was thinking about such early enthusiasm which dies down slowly in life I wrote this song.

456I am babbling
I am writing
Something for me
I will babble something
For others to listen
Whether they read or refuse
I am not worried much about it
Whatever others might think
I won’t change my decision
The inner inspiration
Forces me
The words also
Give shape to the thought
Words come and stand
Automatically before the mind
The hand also
Writes it automatically
There is no point
In blaming me
Because I never
Understood me properly
Though I analyze
With the help of buddhi
I never understood
The nature of my inner mind
Imagining that
I understood which is not clear
Thinking many times
To share about it
Finally converting them
In words
I will babble like this
In the form of poems
15-7-2018, 11.30
Several times I feel that writing poem is not a conscious effort. When the inspiration compels from within and the words continue to flow, however I resist I cannot stop writing poem. I wish I could overcome it one day with the help of my buddhi. I am not sure whether the following words by N. T. Wright is relevant to my situation, still his words one way helps me to understand this kind of situation in my life:
….The problem of evil which it [postmodernity] highlights so remorselessly goes deeper than simply suggesting that all human claims are flawed; it deconstructs humans themselves. There is no longer an “I”: just a swirling mass of emotions, of signifiers, of impulses, meaning that “I” am in a constant state of flux. The moral imperative left over from low-grade existentialism (that one should be true to one’s deepest self) collides with the postmodern claim that one’s deepest self is a fluid, unstable thing; Jazz bassist Charles Mingus says of himself in his autobiography, “I am three….There’s all kinds of emotion to play in music, but the one I’m trying to play is very difficult. It’s the truth of what I am. It’s not difficult to play the mechanics of it, but it’s difficult because I’m changing all the time.”—N. T, Wright, Evil and the Justice of God, Illinois, USA, 2006, –p. 31 {No reference is given for Mingus’ autobiography —db}

457Both are essential
Joy and sorrow
Will remain mingled in life
Progress and fall
Will remain together in life
Praising and despising
Will never get separated
Clarity and confusion
Always stand together
Life is a mix of
Two opposites
Living without them
Is artificial indeed
When cold and heat
Join together
How can we compare
The pleasure that it gives
The rest that we get
After lot of toil
Where is the true
Pleasure like it
Where one can find
The real contentment
Like the remuneration
That we receive for our hard labour
Like the salt
Which add taste to food?
Life too needs
Two opposites
When we have
A heart to accept them both
Both will become joy full
To give happiness to life
Mathigiri, 19-7-2018, 10.30 p.m.
In order to make the positive things more valuable and enjoyable there should be negative things opposite to every positive value in life. Without the one life will become monotonous. Once we have a heart to accept them both with tranquillity then life will become joyful.

458Let us lament
How long it will go
We don’t know
Why should we live?
We don’t know
Till the call comes
We need to live
There is no alternative to it
This is our condition
When there is no
Purpose in life (to life further)
Enthusiasm also
Will be gone
Though we long
To go away early
When it is delayed
Depression will come
Each day looks
Like an Yuga
Each hour
Becomes a burden
But there is
No alternative to this
Therefore our condition
Becomes very pathetic
At least we
Have the right to say this
Only this kind of lamentation
Is with us
Let us lament
By saying this
Then let us
Go to bed
Mathigiri, 25-7-2018, 10.30 p.m.
When we live with old people to take care of them, they will often lament about so many things in life. There is no point of get irritated by it. Unless they lament the burden in their heart won’t go. So instead of rebuking not to lament but ask to see only the positive things in even such old age won’t help them to get rid of their burden. At least they have the strength to lament and we should allow them to do it and when they sit lament with us, we need to listen than to confront them.

459Won’t get the crown
How many answers
To the question which never was asked
How many explanations
To those who are not listening
Thousands of commentaries
For the unarticulated opinion
How many doctrines
For the philosophy which is not there
Mounting on a
Imagined chariot
Joining imagination
As the horses
Running the race
In a track which is not existing
You arranged a competition
For the absentee audience
Thousands of invitations were sent
For that unperformed competition
And you arranged a feast
For those who never turned for it
Finally when you
Reach the goal
You won’t get the crown
Which is not even there?
Mathigiri, 30-7-2018, 2.50 p.m.
One should have a vision. Then dreaming about that vision is also good. But try to live based on mere imagination won’t help anyone to achieve the goal. I am the one who often do lots of imagination based on mere assumption on certain events or news. I know that most of the imaginations that I build around them will fall flat. But I cannot avoid this imagination in life and I won’t get the crown in that race which I try to run on a track which is not even there before an absentee audience. As I was thinking about it I wrote this song teasing me.

460Interference
When we run
In our track
Where is the place
For others to step in
When we play
The game
Where is chance
To change the rules
Each one should
Run in her own track
This becomes
The common rule for all
But we forget
One thing in this
That is called life
Let us remember this
Life is
Not like a game
To live
Following rules and regulations
There is no use
Living as human beings
Try to live
Without out interference
It is quite natural
When we cross each other
That we will
Stumble upon each other
When one falls
Other should uphold
Like this
We all should run in life
All ran in the past
Like this and
Handed over
The batter to us
Receiving it
With much responsibility
Let us also run
And handover it to others
Refusing to do this
And if we stand still
The game will come to an end
As others will run to complete the race
And when we will
Stand alone with the batter
The world will
Laugh at us
Mathigiri, 31-7-2018, 2.50 p.m.
My mother called when I was seriously reading my book—which is so important part of my everyday life. So stopping reading and murmuring within me I went. Just she called only to cut a small piece of cloth which could wait for another 30 minutes. If it was any emergency I would have accept it. But such secondary work can wait till I am free. I don’t like others to disturb when I read book. But I cannot argue with my mother considering her age. Apart from this she is my mother and more than that a woman! (Women have every right to demand and men ought to oblige is another principle. Of course my brother blames me that by obliging too much I have spoiled our mother. But he does not understand one thing. While a wife has only a veto power, a mother has both veto power and victim card to play. Of course a husband too has a victim card but it is subjected to the veto power of his wife.).@ But the same mother won’t call me when I do my cross stitch work while watching T.V. news as it will disturb my concentration (in doing count cross stitch). Because she too is doing cross stitch work. So she knows about it.
So after finishing my reading, when I was reflecting about it, I first said, ‘each one should follow the rules and regulation for smooth life’. But after that I said to ‘but everyday life is not like a game where one can follow rules and regulation of a game’. In any formal gathering like office meeting, board meeting or any other gatherings, we should follow minimum rules and regulation so that it can go smoothly. But when we rub shoulders with people in our home we cannot live like conducting a formal meeting. Here each other will cross the track and we all need to adjust with such distractions (I won’t call it disturbance). This is the way our elders lived their life and handed the batter on our hand. So we too need to run the race like them. Instead of implementing the modern principle of ‘giving my space’ and ‘having private space’ in personal life not to be disturbed by each other, we should allow others to demand their legitimate right over us in everyday life in a home. As I was reflecting about it I wrote this song.
@ When I write this as a joke, the feminist again will say that this kind of cracking jokes against women is male chauvinism. When I recently forwarded one such joke my niece commented back that that was definitely written by a man. In response I said ‘what else they can do, poor men, only he can express their plight like this. The best part of that Hindi joke is this: women are like bendi (ladies finger) which won’t adjust with any other vegetable to cook, whereas men are like tomato which will easily mingle with every vegetable.

461Talk with measure
We will become a laughing stock
When get trapped with too many words
And get entangled in many things
If we pour down so many words
Can we call back our words?
Which we uttered in anger
And try to excuse by saying
That we have done because of anger
Anger will blind our eyes
It will darken our intellect
It will make us get entangled in trouble
Very quickly
Even though the tongue
Is very small and
Is made without any bone
It will bring havoc in life
Not that we don’t know this
Even before we talk
But there is not use
Realizing this after we have talked
The life will go smoothly
When we talk with measure
And try to reduce them as much s possible
Making others to long to hear it from us
Mathigiri, 3-8-2018, 10.30 pm.
Poor tongue which is blamed for all our angry words. At the end it is the power of anger which controls our entire personality when we burst out shouting when provoked. We all know about it. When we are provoked anger overcoming us never allows us to think the consequence of our own choice. One remedy for this is to reduce the very talk. A talkative person is the one who is often get trapped in the net of anger as one talk leading first to debate and finally ending up with argument and fight. Anger provoked by vain talk makes us to burst. No doubt in it that silence is gold even platinum and we all need to develop the art of silence to control our anger. The vow (vrta) of silence which our Indian tradition and several other spiritual traditions (by several mystic in other parts of the world) @ promoted this as the best antidote for vain talk.

…Iamblichus (Vita . Pythagorae 72.94 {Life of Pythagoras}.7 = DK {Hermann Diels, Die Fragmente der Vorsokratiker. Rev. by W. Kranz} claims that new members were required to keep a five-year silence, and Hippolytus asserts that they “remained in silence sometimes three years, sometimes five years.”{Trans. Milton C. Nahm, Selections from Early Greek Philosophy (New York: Appletion-Century Crofts, 1964), p. 53} Such a long silence suggests a goal beyond the guarding of information. Palladas (AP {Apud (found in or quoted by) X.46) says that Pythagoras taught his followers to practice (p.178) silence because he had discovered “that this potent drug brings tranquility.” The Palatine poet Socrates says that Pythagoras’s students were “concentrating deeply upon silence and the eternal discourse of their souls.”— Thomas McEvilley, Shape of Ancient Thought: Comparative Studies in Greek and Indian Philosophies, Delhi, Motilal Banarsidass Publishers, (2002), First Indian Edition, 2008. pp. 178-79
Another practice which is found in India in a different scale than in the ancient Near East is religious silence. While the new temple was being built in Gudea’s city of Lagash, prohibition against noise were in effect throughout the city. In ancient Athens, one did not speak on top of the Acropolis. … Among the Indian orders such a vow is usually undertaken for a year, sometimes for a lifetime. This practice may have existed as early as the tenth book of the RgVeda (X.136), where the Muni is referred to as “ecstatic with silence.”—ibid. p. 270
In BU, III.6, where there is a dialogue on Brahman, the position is finally reached where the questioner is told that Brahman is ‘a divinity about which further questions cannot be asked’, and at this the questioner ‘holds her peace’ (upararaama). This is, of course, in perfect agreement with the employment of the viaremotionis in the same texts, where it is said that the Brahman is ‘No, No’ (neti, neti), and also with the traditional text quoted by Sankara on VedantaSutras, III.2.17, where Baahva, questioned regarding the nature of Brahman, remains silent (tuusniim), only exclaiming when the question is repeated for the third time, ‘I teach you indeed, but you do not understand: this Brahman is silence’. Precisely the same significance attaches to the Buddha’s refusal to analyze the state of nirvana. [Cf. avadyam, ‘the unspeakable’, from which the proceeding principles are liberated by the manifested light, RV, passim.] In BG, X.38, Krsna speaks of himself as ‘the silence of the hidden ones (mauna … guhyaanaam), and the gnosis of the Gnostics’ (jnaanamjnaanavataam); where mauna corresponds to the familiar muni, ‘silent sage’. This is not, of course, to say that He does not also ‘speak’, but that his speaking is simply the manifestation, and not an affection, of the Silence; as BU, III.5 also reminds us, the supreme state is one that transcends the distinction of utterance from silence—‘Without respect to utterance or silence (amaunamcamaunamnirvidya), then is he indeed a Brahman’. When it is asked further, ‘By what means does one thus become a Brahman?’ the questioner is told, ‘By that means by which one does become a Brahman’, which is as much as to say, by a way that can be found but cannot be charted. The secret of initiation remains inviolable by its very nature; it cannot be betrayed because it cannot be expressed—it is inexplicable (aniruktam), but the inexplicable is everything, at the same time all that can and all that cannot be expressed.—The Vedic Doctrine of ‘Silence’, in, Ananda K. Coomaraswamy, Perception of The Vedas, edited by Vidya Nivas Misra, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the arts, New Delhi, Manohar, 2000. p. 228.

I am deceived by me
By repeating what I have already shared
But I will become depressed
If I don’t share it again!
Though there is
Nothing new to share
Yet I again I try
To share what I know
When I was thinking
What to share
Then my mind instructed
To share this alone
When I questioned
About it
It again
Mocked at me
“Your thoughts
Are not yet in your control
You don’t have anything
To share (to others)
You don’t have
The right to share to others
Still you didn’t stop
Your babblings”
Once my mind
Rebuked me like this
I keep quiet
What else can I do?
Mathigiri, 3-8-2018, 11.30 p.m.
Again a regular struggle within me between my mind and buddhi. I often claim that everything is the work of the brain and there is no separate entity called mind. But when I sit quietly I realize that there is something beyond my brain which even direct or controls it. Is it my mind or my buddhi (intellect) or my atman? I know that no concept on human psyche is going to give a final and convincing answer to this. For me it is left to each individual to analyze this complex nature of our personality and come out with her own solution than accept other’s view on it. This song again reflects one such struggle within me in which both my mind and brain engage in a tug up war in which my atman get trapped. When I cannot resolve this problem the advice of my mind is to keep quite than become a teacher to others.

463Imposing one’s view
There is no need
For us to dance
According to the
Opinions of others
It is not possible
For us to live
Just for the sake of
Others to see
We born in this world
Only to live with others
And we live with others
Only by toiling along with them
We grew in life
As others taught us
And we born
Only to share with others
But we too have
Our own opinion
And we should know
To respect it
We should give
Space for other’s opinion
Similarly one’s own opinion
Should be respected
If opinion remains
Just a one way traffic
Where is the scope
For truth in it?
When we
Understand this
There is hope for
Exchange of opinions
Avoiding imposing views
And sharing opinions
Living together
Is good for all
Mathigiri, 7-8-2018 10.30, p.m.
When other’s views are imposed not giving space for the opponent’s views then truth pays a heavy price for such one way traffic in life. Politicians know this art well. But this is not limited to politics alone. Even in everyday life, when one tries to justify her own views, at least in her mind there is no space or respect for opponents view, though she might pretend to listen it. But for a smooth life not only opponent’s view should be listened but respected though we may not agree with it.

464Pressures
Many pressures
Are in the world
They will often trouble
Both body and mind.
If we continue to remember them
We get depressed
If we try to forget them
They will conspire against us
When we are seeking
For the need of the body
The heart will give
Its own trouble
When we are ready
To face both of them
The soul will
Take its whip
When all kinds of pressures
Are pressing us
There is only one way
To escape from them
Finding which one
Gives more pressure
We should try to give
Pressure to it
When there is pressure
From outside us
There is a way
To escape from it
But when the pressure
Is within us
How to give
Trouble to it?
But still there is
One alternative to this
When we manage to make them to compete
One with the other
As they will fight
With each other
Our pressure might
Comedown a bit
But if they all
Join together
Then our condition
Will become worst
Mathigiri, 8-8-2018, 2.30 pm.
One of the old age scenarios is the pressure that comes both from within and outside. Several times some objective incidents not having any personal effect on us might help temporarily to forget the pressures from within. But when both of them join together, our situation becomes very pathetic. As old age people have more time to think and contemplate on them, they suffer more than others who are busy with other activities which help them to diverse some pressure from within.

465Which get lost?
How can I tell?
What I have lost
How to tell
Which get lost on their own?
I have lost my heart
As I toiled for my body
And for the need of my heart
I lost my mind (thoughts)
I lost me
Even in my own thoughts
Finally along with them all
I have lost my own life
Living only for me
I lost relatives
Living for relatives
I lost others
Living for others
I lost the world
Living for the world
I lost everything
Finally when I thought
Gone is gone
Let me begin to live again
I couldn’t find any one of them
As I too joined
With those were searching
All which they have lost
I couldn’t find any of them
Then alone
One thing become clear to me
Finally I realized
Which one we all lost?
As all of us
Were searching material things
I realized that it was people
And not material which we have lost
If we search thinking
What we lost is the same as what get lost on their own
None will get them both
As long as we do not understand this
Instead of searching
Which we lost
But only search which get lost on their own
Till the end we won’t get both of them!
Mathigiri, 8-8-2018, 10.30 p.m.
Relationship needs commitment and friendship needs nurturing. In both we lost (தொலைத்த) some and many get lost (தொலைந்த) on their own. But not knowing the real reason we often search some other things than the lost (தொலைத்த) and get lost (தொலைந்த) relationship. As long as we never began to search what we actually lost, we won’t get both lost and get lost relationships.
I tried to translate தொலைத்த as the one we lost on our own and தொலைந்த as those which get lost on their own. I am not sure whether I managed to translate them properly. Unless this difference between which we lost and those which get lost on their own, one cannot understand this poem and the thought.
The main point is this: unless we try to seek the relationship which we lost due to our own temperament, those which went on their own won’t come back. This is truer with relatives than with friends.
Lost year this time we were exited as one of our close relatives planed to come and visit us (particularly my mother) nearly after 40 years. They came and met. Once they went back, in order to revive that lost relationship I tried my best to keep in touch with them by sending several Whatsap messages and photos. But there was no response from them in any form. After six month there was only one phone call that too from the senior most person. The young generation didn’t show any interest to keep in touch with us back. I won’t blame them as they never knew or met us before. The same happened with one of my shishyas’ son. As my mother wanted see his photos, in spite of my several messages he never responded by sending his present picture.
As I was thinking about it, I realized that we lost some relationship due to our temperament and some get lost on their own. Unless we try to trace back which we lost we won’t restore back both kinds of relationships. This is the background of this poem.

When I received the following Whatsapp message then I wrote this poem. Karunanidi is one of the worst and corrupt politician of 20th century. He epitomized selfishness completely. Some good things that he has done drown in the all evil that he has done. I am not going to translate this song in English as Non-Tamilians won’t understand what I say about Karunanidi.

466We should awake
They uttered cleverly
For us to hear
They acted well
For us to watch
They removed the mask
Once the drama ended
They walked away
After good collection
Those who saw the drama
Only managed to like their fingers
While those who stolen the jaggery
Laughed at us meaningfully
This is our present condition
And we are get cheated
Still we are unable to know that
As we lost our mind
This is the time to awaken
And to understand them
We should unmask them
By remaining vigilant
But if we walk away saying
It is not my busyness
What will happen to our future?
We should think this too!
Mathigiri, 11-8-2018, 11.45. p.m.
This is the political situation overall in India and particularly in Tamilnadu. We cannot blame the politicians only. In a democratic country we people are equally responsible for it. At the same time democracy in the name of democracy allows the corrupt politicians to have the final word as they manage to criminalize the politics. Now as the one of the worst corrupt periods of Tamilnadu politics came to an end, now is the time for us to awaken to this reality and do our part to expose them. Social media, in spite of its negative effects, could play a vital role in doing it.

467What kind of Good are you?
Help us by giving rain
And remove the trouble of people
In one area flood is destroying
In another draught is threatening
God should be neutral for everyone
And should provide according to our need
When we say ‘no’ you give
And when we ask you refuse
None has seen a God like this
Who shows partiality?
There is no use remaining as God
If you began to punish people with a vengeance
I actually don’t like to write
Rebuking like this
Each time seeking rain
And complaining about it to you
Anyhow, I have done my part
And I have rebuked you enough
Now realizing your responsibility
Give rain immediately
Mathigiri, 12-8-2018, 2.55 pm.
Again a dry spell here. Farmers are looking unto the sky for rain to sow their annual main crops which provides not only food to them, but also to the animal. So as usual Vijay kumar told me ‘Thatha again no rain’. In response I said, ‘don’t worry. God too would oblige only when we rebuke him. Again I will write a song doing this’.
This becomes almost an annual ritual here. Before sowing there won’t be rain. Then I have to write a song about it rebuking God. Already I shared about it in another song (I think in Bhakti Theology)
Though I addressed to God, this song belongs to Secular genre as it is a teasing song.

In his firmness

There is no comparison (for him)

The greatness of

Will remain

Mathigiri, 16-08-2018, 11.00 p.m.
Vajpayee passed away. He is the one of the tallest leader of India. Next to Gandhiji he is the one leader who inspired me. He as a poet, journalist, statesman, politician above all the best Prime Minister of India left a great legacy behind him. His oratory skill is remarkable one. When one listen his poems recited by him, then she becomes one with him in understanding its depth. His sense of humor is worth imitating. Amidst all kinds of pressure he managed his public life with this sense of humor. More than anything his patriotism tamed the extreme nationalism and teaches how to balance between patriotism and nationalism. He will be remembered for long time in Indian politics as rarely any contemporary politicians could come near to him in his majestic personality. India lost its greatest and tallest leader after Mahatma Gandhiji.

What is the use of thinking too much?
What is the profit in doing deep research?
They become tired by going round and round
They are repeating the same thing again and again
They began by saying that they are going to say something new
They also promised to undo the riddle
Once they have disclosed the riddle
They become a riddle unto themselves
Doing research by digging for facts
Giving minutes details
Adding their own views in between
They tried to say something new
Few like me reading them
Thinking for what purpose they have written
Rethinking about it again
Closed it not understanding anything
Those who do not have time for this are fortunate
Living their everyday life normally
Not wasting their golden time
They undo the riddle by living the life with understanding
Mathigiri, 29-8-18, 2.40 pm.
I like history. So when I read any book related with the history of any movement, I am really interested to read to know about it. But in few cases, they simply present the same old facts with new format but not with any new message. So after few pages or chapters when I find that book boring, unable to give up the reading at the same time without any desire to read it further, I struggle a lot. As I am reading one such book, then I thought ‘blessed are the people who has no time to read books much’. They live their life not wasting their precious time by living naturally. In the name of revealing some unknown riddle with the history in the past, some authors create new riddles unable to reveal it. But for common people life never presents no such riddle as they live in the present all the time, not thinking about the past much. History is both a blessing and a problem—depending upon how we approach it.

470Poems
Both the first and
Last words properly come
Adding apt words
In between them
Communicating
The thought through words
I wrote something
As poem
Compiling the
Feelings of the heart
Creating proper
Illustration for that
Refining it
Through imagination
I wrote something
As poem
In order to
Communicate a thought
Selecting
A proper one
Adding proper
Words for that
I presented
A poem here
As the words
Which come first
Inspires to write
More and more
Next words
Will stand in line
Inducing me
To write more and more
When I was
About to close the poem
As the words stand
With much hesitation
Again the first and
The lost words coming properly
Will help me
To close the poem
As my heart
Refuses to go
Further
Beyond that
As the words also
Stop flowing
I will complete
The poem finally
Mathigiri, 30-8-2018, 11.30 p.m.
This song shows how and why I write poems. Unless inspiration comes in which the words also fall in line to be used coming automatically one cannot write poems artificially. At the same time, when the flow of words stops, however one tries she cannot write more.

471The life which is for action
As the life
Came for sale
It become a
Commodity for action
Keeping a
Minimum price
They action
The life for sale
After buying
That product
When they opened it
They were shocked
What they
Put in action
Is not a commodity
But only us
When we
Opened the commodity
Then we
Understood the truth
Even this life
Which we lost
Because of the
The lust for advertisement
Not disclosing
The truth to others
Putting a mask
Even unwillingly
They even
Induce others
Encourage
To buy it
Like them
For us also
Get defeated
They are calling us
Get trapped
In that net
We too
Lost us now
Mathigiri, 5-9-2018, 2.00 p.m.
The way life also commercialised by so many things now (thanks to internet and modern gadgets) at the end through this commercialization finally we lost the very life which we want to enjoy through commercializing it. Today I heard the news that in France or Italy they have decided to close big malls and shopping complex in Sunday as opening them deprives people to have normal family life as they had in the past. Now this became a global menace.

472 Deliverance
Deliverance; deliverance; deliverance
As the unnecessary burden has gone—there is deliverance
As the unnecessary responsibility has gone—there is deliverance
As the unwanted works came to an end—there is deliverance
It get accumulated slowly in the course of the time
Though I never asked for, the burden came on me
As others gave their shoulders
In the beginning that burden was not much heavy
As the circumstance and time also helped
Because of the initial enthusiasm its burden was not much heavy
In the course of time as other’s attitude changed
So many new responsibilities also came on me
What I that that it would be simple and light
Finally crushed me and thrashed me
When I was bewildering how to escape from it
An easy opportunity came on its own to me
As personal responsibilities came one by one on them
The burden on others also came on its own
Because of that as my burden came a bit down
Automatically my burden also reduced a lot
As I don’t have any more strength to carry
Before others put the burden again on me
Saying that it is not possible for me
I too keep away by giving a big ‘NAMASTE’
Mathigiri, 9-9-2018, 2.40 p.m.
When we see that the next generation takes our responsibility realizing that we cannot carry it anymore, some kind of release comes in our mind. Though we cannot run away from responsibility, yet we need not carry it with the same burden and pressure as we have done initially is the advantage of the old age. As I feel released from such burden, I wrote this song.

473According to the Time
How it is good
Not to write
Because words
Have power
Once we
Communicated our thought
We cannot easily
Change it
We need to
Search thousands of reasons for that
We need to
Present proper argument for that
As the views are changed
As the time gets changed
We too need to
Change accordingly
But not changing
Our thought first
We cannot easily
Change our view also
Because of that
When any argument comes within us
We were
Unable to face it
Therefore before writing anything
Thinking deeply about it
Also noting the
Changing time
If we are
Ready to change our view
Then alone
We can write
If we remain
Adamant not changing
As the time moves
We will stand back
Mathigiri, 20-09-2018, 2.35 p.m.
As I am observing the present political situation in India in general and particularly in Tamilnadu, I am not sure where we are heading for? Most of the political leaders in India, particularly in Tamilnadu are hopeless and hardly deserve to be called even as leaders. But holding some conviction towards some ideology and remain firm in it becomes a challenge as such hopeless leaders force us to even shift our goal post often. Because more than one particular view, democracy is at stake if we remain adamant to hold any one (political) view. We too need to go along with the time. Otherwise we will get struck not only in our view but also in our time whereas time will move ahead making us to remain back in the past. As I was thinking about it I wrote this song.
473 காலத்திற்கேற்ப
எழுதாமல் இருப்பது
எத்தனை நல்லது
ஏனென்றால் எழுத்துக்கு
வல்லமை உள்ளது
எழுத்திலே கருத்தை
சொன்னதின் பின்னாலே
எளிதாக அதனையே
மாற்றிட முடியாது
ஆயிரம் காரணம்
அதற்குமே தேடணும்
அதற்கேற்ப வாதத்தை
சரியாக வைக்கணும்
காலங்கள் மாறிட
கருத்துகள் மாறிட
காலத்திற்கேற்ப
நம்மையும் மாற்றணும்
ஆயினும் தான்கொண்ட
எண்ணத்தில் மாறாமல்
எளிதாக கருத்தினை
மாற்றிட இயலாது
அதனாலே தன்னுள்ளே
வாதமும் வரும்போது
அதனை எதிர்கொள்ள
தன்னாலே ஆகாது
ஆகவே எழுதும்முன்
ஆழமாய் யோசித்து
அத்துடன் மாறிடும்
காலத்தை கவனித்து
காலத்திற் கேற்ப
கருத்தையும் மாற்றிட
ஆயத்தம் என்றால்
அதன்பின் எழுதணும்
அப்படி அல்லாமல்
பிடிவாதம் கொண்டால்
காலமோ முன்னேற
பின்தங்கி நிற்கணும்

474What to do?
How many matters are there?
For us to write
As so many thoughts
Are coming within me
When I observe
What is happening around me?
It is forcing me
To write about it
But ‘what is the use’
This question also
Stands before me
Before I writing
Though I think that
It is better to live
By closing our
Eyes along with ears
The mind inside
Provoking thoughts
Refuse to take rest
Till I write about it
Because of this
When I write and
Share my thoughts
With others
As more arguments
Develop because of that
I don’t have the patience
To continue them
Because of this, the way
I struggle within me
What to say
About it
How to go
To a stage
Where I can live
Beyond thinking
I request to those
Who knows about it?
Only appealing for this
I close here
Mathigiri, 20-09-2018, 11.30
After writing about Modi (It is good for Modi—if he is defeated.) as I posted in the whatsapp immediately I received one phone call from one person whom I know but not in touch. I don’t know he is pro-Modi or anti-Modi. But as I was busy with other works, I ignored that call. The another reason for it is that I neither have time or interest to further engage with unnecessary argument with anyone on such points—particularly related with politics. Because in politics in India and also anywhere in the world, it seems that it is difficult for one to remain stick to one particular ideology. For example, as I never like dynastic politics (both in Tamilandu and all India level) I voted for BJP and AIADMK. But considering the present scenario, I am not sure I will do the same again. I am personally not against or in favor of any individual in politics. But even remain firm in particular ideology becomes difficult in a pluralistic society where one is forced to change her conviction and commitment to a particular ideology. Because, however good and noble that ideology could be (according to the understanding of that particular person), when it becomes a political power which could twist and turn that ideology for vested interest, then one has to rethink about her commitment to that ideology. For example I am a strong Nationalist. But my nationalism is inclusivistic and not against any community. However when the Right Wing Nationalists uses the brutal political power which they gain through the vote power, then the ideology becomes the first victim.
So when I again received another message by some pro-Modi person or group first I laughed at it as I never come across such foolish and childish support to Modi. I am not sure whether Modi himself will approve it. @ So when I was thinking about it before retiring to bed get irritated by such foolish and childish promotion of a person, I thought of writing another rebuttal to it. I am not a great fan of Modi at the same time I am not a Left wing or pseudo secularist to oppose his vision for India just for the sake of opposing him. Still I would prefer him to be the next P.M. of India, as we cannot judge his performance giving only one term in his office which required clearing up all the mess created by the previous Congress government. So I think that it is right time even to RESCUE Modi from BJP or some fanatics in it. Then I began to draft my thoughts in my mind and a compulsion came within me to write it immediately in the computer. But I resisted it as it is bed time and already I become very tired. But as I couldn’t sleep as my mind won’t allow me to rest until I write down my thoughts, I feel sorry for me. Then I thought how good it is to live closing my ears, eyes and mouth and minding my own business. I really long for a life where I can live going beyond thinking and reasoning within me. Then I wrote this song and went to bed.
Of course next day morning the first thing that I have done was recording my thoughts in another article: BJP become Congress or Modi needs to be rescued. See below.
@ When I forwarded that message to my niece she sends this response which reflects the mind of any soberly thinking Indian:
Hahaha if all happened only after BJP came to power…then oh so blind public has to face the consequences of not remembering the past! All mentioned above has been going on years, we just tend to forget for convenience and like to blame somebody and play the game of being a victim.

475 For whom?
To the question:
For whom we are playing to watch
We should clearly understand that
Not for others to watch
If we began to play
For the world to watch us
Then we will end up
Playing not for anyone to watch
As the gamblers
Decided interfering in it
Finally the gambling
Itself become a game
Though we play
Only to win the game
We should see that
The quality of the game is not reduced
Whoever might?
Win or lose
We should play
For the sake of the game alone
For what purpose
I am using this illustration
If this question is asked
I have an answer for that
Thinking that we are
Doing everything only for others
And not doing
Anything for us
Finally our life
Will become not useful to anyone
We should see only this truth
In this illustration
Mathigiri, 23-09-2018, 2.50 p.m.
Men are social animal. Without a society we don’t have our identity or existence. However, unless each one of us first lives our life for oneself, we cannot live for others even. As I often say, we never live for others but live with others. That life that we live with others alone gives our identity as father, mother, brother, sister, friend etc. At the same time in that life which we live with others should have a personal focus so that we can live a better life with others?
It is mere joke to say that don’t worry about the result and enjoy the game. But a true sports person will never play only to enjoy the game. Unless she keeps her victory as her goal she never can even enjoy the game. Of course those who are in the gallery might enjoy the competition. But only the person who wins the game can alone really celebrate not only her victory but even enjoy the game. The same is true with life. Unless we learn to do a thing first for our personal satisfaction, we can never live with others properly. So don’t play for the gallery alone. If you do, then instead of your game you will become an object of display.

476 The lesson in life
There is no life
Without troubles
We cannot live
Without facing any trials
But if we are
Defeated by them
There is no hope
To press forward in life
Whether the troubles
Come on their own
Or we go and voluntarily
Get them
Finally we need
To face them
Somehow we need
To overcome them
Not get depressed
By seeing the troubles
But learning the lesson
Which they give
Gaining the
Experience which comes out of it
By overcoming the troubles
We need to live
There is no comparison
For them as we learn through them
We cannot even learn
Them through texts
There is no one
To teach it to us
Others are not
Going to learn it for us
Therefore knowing
The importance of them
Learning the lesson
Through them in life
Through them
Overcoming the life
We should also help
Others to learn it properly
Mathigiri, 29-09-2018, 9.00 a.m.
The way we can learn good lessons about life is only through troubles and trials in life. They are the best teachers and no one can teach about it to us or others cannot learn it for us. What we learn through them in life we can help others also to learn its value in their life too.

477 For all to live
No easy answer
For everything in life
No one knows
The complete
Answer for all
Each one will give
Based on her own experience
Why should all
Accept it for everyone?
But when each one
Began to argue
That her own answer
Is best one
Finally living
All collectively
Becomes an
Impossible task for us
It is better for us
As human beings
By asking questions
And giving answer
Finally arriving
To a common answer
By removing contradiction
By reaching concession
Even the animals
Which live based on the law of nature?
Living based
On that nature law
So far managed
To live properly
And managed
To preserve their own group
But we alone
Because of
Our arrogant nature
By saying that
‘My way is high way’
And each began to
Live separately
A collective life
Becomes impossible for us
The answer
Which is not easy to get?
Will be arrived
When we search for it as a group
And if we all
Accept it for all
Then there will come
Opportunity to live collectively
Mathigiri, 29-09-2018, 2.45 p.m.
As social animals we human beings can never say that ‘my way is the only high way’. Of course when time comes we need to take some decisions on our own. But as we live with others, we need to consider their need and life also while we take any decision on our own. Collective decision is good even for an individual about deciding her life.

478Too much reading
Better try to live the properly
By stopping reading and thinking
By reading too much you lost your life
By thinking too much you renounced your mind
Do you remember all that you have read so far?
Is there any use in all the points that you took?
Is your life goes as you have read
Did you get new wisdom by such activities?
Better stop reading for few days
Then realize the clarity that will come because of it
See the way the wise people lived without education
And understand the condition of the educated fools
If you began to read all that you get on your hand
Only confusion will remain at the end
Reading for time pass is one thing
But if you read all the time only trouble will come
You should understand that
Affection and love won’t come through reading
Do you need to quash your brain?
To know the qualification to live
Enough by losing too much by reading
Think then you will understand your situation
Not losing the remaining life
You should stop too much reading
Mathigiri, 2-10-2018, 11.35 p.m.
Today I realized that too much of reading really took a toll on me. If I merely read that won’t affect me. But while reading, I will begin to reflect on certain points with which I agree or disagree. Sometimes immediately I will record them in the margin of the book or in a separate paper. That day, I will continue to reflect on that point and will sometime end up some kind of brain storms. Apart from reading, I will take notes from the book and will arrange the point topic wise. All these activities consume not only much time, but also both my physical and mental energy. Several times I feel exhausted. Apart from this as I read most of the books in English, the language also became a big impediment—not only to understand the book but also record my response. So this night I thought that I should take a break from my reading to relax both in body and mind to recover from over-exhaustion

479No more a burden
With unnecessary burden
In a life without clarity
When one walks without knowing the direction
It is quite common to get lost
If one thinks that somehow she is born
And lamenting: what kind of life is this
If one spends days and time like this
She cannot see anything good in life
Thinking that escape is the only means
Thinking that: Enough I have suffered
If she tries to run away from life
She will never get what she desires
Somehow I get trapped
I am going round and round in it
And if one laments like this each day
There is no use in it
But if she realizes that
This is the reality in life
And there is no means to escape from it
She won’t hesitate to face the challenge
Nothing is a burden for such people
They never face any confusion
As they go knowing their direction
There is no chance for them to get lost
Mathigiri, 3-10-2018, 11.10 p.m.
My second cousins’ wife called and talked with me this afternoon. There is nothing special with her. But she is a typical Indian mother and a woman who faces the challenges of life more courageously. Particularly, though rich and have their own business, the way the entire family underwent with so many challenges is too much for an ordinary family to face. Apart from health issues (my cousin almost had a second life after a major liver operation in which his own daughter donated part of her liver to her father to save him), so many other problems related to life came one after the another. When they were recovering from one challenge, anther will come ready to stand in their door step. Though the entire family stood united and co-operated, it was she who almost single hand managed so many issues (she has to look after three generation—her mother-in-law to grand children) is remarkable. In her talk she said, ‘this is the reality of life. We came only to face it’ is the strength of Indian woman. Though they were down some times yet they never accept defeat. In this area, most of the time men won’t withstand all such pressures at the same time. Of course they will handle and manage all the outside challenges but when it comes to handle both the home and outside it is not their art of living. It is women who alone manage it not only in India, but almost in the entire world. There may be some exceptions, but in general the mental courage and inner strength which women have is remarkable and without them human life on earth will be miserable.
That is why The Mahabharata (12.144.66) echoes the same thought: “The home is not the house, they say, but the housewife”—na grham grham ity aahu grhinii grham ucyate.— Patrick Olivelle, The Asrama system The History and Hermeneutics of a Religious Institution New York, Oxford, Oxford University Press, 1993, Fn. 32, p.41
As I often say women are the shock observers of the family, while family is the sock observer of the society. Every wounded individual can find solace only in home and no other place. We need to salute such woman and this poem is dedicated to them. No doubt a woman is an all rounder whereas man can play one kind of match. He can be even the captain of the team, but woman is the all rounder in a home.

480 Don’t be haste
You need much patience
If you understand this, it is good for you
There is no gain in
Doing things in a hurry
You become old
If you realize this that is good for you
Your body became week
The time has come to realize this
You don’t have your own family and children
There is no noise in the house
There is no need for this much hast
To cook food for two stomachs
What is the need for this much hurry in everything
Why you do unnecessary works
Once you have done things in haste
Then why you get frustrated?
There is no variety of cooking
The mouth is also not demanding tasty food
But there is no limit for this much activity
For to fill two stomachs
Remaining calm, do things peacefully
Reducing excess of works
Not becoming unnecessary burden to others
Till you depart better keep some patience
Mathigiri, 15-10-2018, 11.30 p.m.
My mother often rebukes as I start my cooking at 6.00 am. She always says ‘we are only two and the same food we are eating each day. But the way you began the cooking early in the morning might make others to think that you are cooking varieties of food for us.’ There is some truth in it. Of course I start my cooking early in the morning, as I plan my days according to my schedule. It is true that we eat the same food almost everyday without any change whole month and even in the year. But when I go to the kitchen I will give only 30 to 45 minutes for cooking. Even if goes beyond few minutes after that then I will become upset as I cannot catch my other works. The way I run and keep busy in everyday life really became a burden to me and I find it difficult to escape from it. I plan each hour of a day and it should go accordingly and no one should trouble that routine and discipline. It is interesting, that while my mother rebukes me, I also noticed that she too has the same planning for her daily life and she never like it get disturbed. So inorder to rebuke me to go bit slow I wrote this song—of course very QUICKLY.

How easily
We can give our view
Not seeing the
Truth on both sides
When we see
From one side
We cannot see
The whole truth
We cannot escape
By saying that
Correct or wrong
Is only in our view
The justice of
Our view is also
Depends upon
Which side we want to see
Even that also
Won’t become final one
There is one
Reason for that
The truth also hangs
How we view
Both the shortcoming
And good side
As so much
Angles are there to see the point
How to share
Our view finally
Thiruvalluvar has
Given the final verdict for that
Doing accordingly
Is good for all
When we remain
Neutral not
Taking one side
Like the needle in a balance
The truth in our
Point of view will be clear
And there will be
Justice in the way we share our view also

Not being one-sided like an even balance
Is an ornament to the wise.—Thirukkural, 118, tr. M. Rajaram, New Delhi, Rupa & Co, 2009, p.25
As the Sabaraimala controversy going on these days, when I listen or read about it, I wonder where lies the truth? Each side argues as if they alone hold the truth to their side. Similarly when I read about the Orientalism, I find it difficult to understand who is correct in evolving it. So as I was thought about it, I wrote this song. See my article ‘Sabarimala in the blog.’

482 Learning
No one sets limitation
To learning
If one wants to learn
There is no hurdle to it
We can count
What we learn by fingers
What yet to be learned
Is like ocean
Even if we
Took pearl from that ocean
That too is
Very little
Though the boundary
Of learning continue to expand
Only humility
Will make it nobler
The greatness of learning
Will be demonstrated by following it
If those who get defeated in it
Will surely fall
Once others also
Receive its benefit
The learning also
Will become complete
Once the greatness of
Learning become visible
The interest to learn
Also will come to others
Once we share
The wealth of learning
It will also
Increase more and more
Then it will become clear
That there is no other
Wealth like
Learning
Mathigiri, 21-10-2018, 11.45 p.m.
When I read about the way some people read books in their life over whelmed me. For example Gandhiji, amidst his busy life, spent much time in reading book. But the beauty in learning is that it needs to be shared and one should try to live up to the level of her learning. As I was thinking about this, I wrote this song.

483 Which one is true and which one is false?
I don’t know
Whether to accept or not
No one’s view
Remains final one
On the one side
The views are presented clearly
But the other side also
Refute it clearly
The writers present their view
Because of their talent
They put forth proper
Arguments for that
They present proper
Evidences for that
They also give
Time for this to verify them
But before they write
As they have their own view
They refuse to accept
The counter points
They manage to
To present the evidences
By giving their interpretation
Before us
Unable to get the means
To analyze them
At the same time
Unable to refute their views
When people like me
Are get stumbled
Not knowing which one is truth
And which one is false
We don’t know
Whether to accept then or not
We don’t know to whom
We shall go and ask
Ok let them say whatever they want
What we have to anything with it
Thinking only like this
We need to read them further
13-11-2018, Mathigiri, 10.30p.m.
The influence of the written words is deep indeed. Because when we talk, discuss or hear, soon we will forget it. But when we read, the impact is very deep. In discussion we get the opportunity to question the opponent and register our counter view. But when we read anything in writing, the author alone has the opportunity to interact with us. Though we might rise question and counter argue in our reflection, rarely we get the opportunity to record them. Atleast I face this problem whenever I read any book. After reading one such book, unable to reject his thoughts, at the same time unable to accept it as it is, I wrote this song that finally I need to continue to read whatever might be the author’s view on a particular subject. Sometimes I wish I could stop even this reading, as it demands not only my time, but forces me to reflect and record my reflections. Longing a life of recluse I should soon say good-bye even to this reading much.

484Reason cannot be given
Desire is there
To remain calm
The longing is there
To remain hidden
There is a reason
For me to seek them
But I find it difficult
To utter it
The pressure of the world
Is pressing on one side
The longing of the heart
Begs on the other side
What to do
In between them
When I will get
The deliverance which I want
When I think what went in the past
Only pain remains
When I think about the future
There is some trouble in my heart
In between
How today will go
Will it go?
As I expect?
Some kind of pressure
Is coming often
Doing some thing
I try to escape from it
When I manage to find
The means finding some answer
New kinds of
Pressures come before me
Thinking about the deliverance
Which I never going to get
Longing for the peace
Which won’t come any time?
Try to escape
In the way which is not there
Finally I realized
By playing the game in life
Then I received
That peace
I found the place
To hide in it
Then I went in that place
To hide
But how to say
The reason for that
Mathigiri, 22-11-2018, 11.15
After my regular reading, as usual I began to reflect on some points which I read and began to debate with the author. Two days before I even recorded my reflection as an article. But the challenge presented by the scholars is too much for a lay person like me who can only read and learn, but cannot rebuttal. Then as I said previously, I should even stop even this reading—at least for some time. At the same time I know I cannot do that immediately, as it will take time for me to give up this habit which I developed since my school days. Then closing the book, as I was reflecting my plight, I said that my real desire is to get that inner peace and a place to hide—even from me. As I continue to meditate I wrote this song expressing that desire. The riddle is though I found the place to hide and peace which I want; I cannot give the reason for it. Not only life is a riddle but even poems are!

485 Seva to Mother
Let us remain thankful for
The opportunity
That a mother
Gave us to serve her
There is none
Like a mother
Who always takes?
Care of the child
Giving up her pleasures
Renouncing her welfare
A mother only thinks
About her child
Making her love as a nectar
She feeds her child with her milk
She carries it each day
Both on her lap and heart
When the child grows
She keeps an eye on it
Even when the child has grown up
She still lives only for it
She will keep patience
Even when a child
Forgets its duty towards its mother
Not talking against it
Till the end
She will toil for the child
Remaining not a burden
As much as possible
Even the omnipresent
God also
Will dwell among us
In the form of a mother
Realizing that
There is none like her
He too will become
Like a mother
There is no
Means on this earth
For us to pay back
Our debt to her
Even by
Serving her
We cannot find a way
To pay back that debt
Understanding this
Realizing her love
Till the end
We should serve her
Mathigiri, 2-12-2018, 10.30 pm.
My mother often laments that she remains a burden to all, particularly to me. She says that if she will be gone, then I will be free to do what I like. This is quite common for every old people, particularly for a mother. But she does not understand that she provides an opportunity for her children to serve her. It is not a duty, not even a responsibility but sheer opportunity one rarely one gets. Several want to serve, but unable to do for various reason. But as I enjoy this opportunity, I never consider her a burden but a blessing even at this age and stage of my life.

I swore on all husbands that this is not my song. Last night in my dream one husband came and lament about his situation. And I give only verbal expression to it through this song. But this is not my song!!!
486 You should join me to weep
The mother
Who is full of love?
When becomes
Mother-in-law; daughter-in-law and wife
As become
A devil
Unable to tolerate it
I ask you this!
Forgetting her pleasure
Renouncing her welfare
When she can only think
About her child alone
When comes to me
She becomes a ‘Durga’
And if I ask why?
She becomes more upset
The one who
Brings up her child by feeding milk
When cooks for me
Why she forgets me? (Completely)
‘Eat whatever I give
And go silently’ she tells me
Before I could open my mouth
She manages it to close it (by her words)
The mother who
Brings up the child carefully
Often forgets that
I too am the father (to that child)
When she tolerates the child
Which forgets its debt to her?
She asks accounts
For my debt to her (as a husband)
The one who lives
Not a burden to the child
Somehow thinks me
As a burden (to her)
Even the gods
Which lives in the form of a mother?
Also tremble
When think about their wives
There is no means
To pay the debt to a mother
But there is none
Even to remember my debt to them
The feminists also
Never think about me
There is none here
To talk about for men
You have escaped
Not marrying
Can only write
About mothers
Just become a husband
Even for a day
Then you will understand
The condition of the husbands
Knowing this
Realizing my situation
You should come
To weep with me
Mathigiri, 4-12-2018,11.00 a.m.
This evening one interesting thing I came to know. Last night my nephew came after 2.00 am (mind night) and went to his parents’ house and demanded food from his mother. She got up and prepared hot food and served him. Interestingly he lives with his wife in the next street and in fact when he comes from the railway station he has first cross his house to reach his parent’s home. When my mother listened this from my sister and later complained about it to me, I told my mother, ‘no mother will say “no” when her child demands food at anytime. But a husband knows that he cannot do the same with his wife.’
I also witnessed another interesting event. One time when I was with a family who hosted several people for lunch at the end of the lunch the husband asked his wife that can she prepare some block coffee as some guests wanted? Immediately she said, ‘No. I become tired’. Then the husband silently went to the kitchen and heated the water and prepared some block coffee by mixing some instant coffee powder. I was there with my close friend and we each saw each other with much surprise. Because whole morning two cooks were cooking the food. The wife was only taking rest in her room and came when the lunch was served. Of course she served the guests very nicely by serving the food. Whereas if you ask your mother, who might have even prepared the meal, won’t say no even if she become became tired for a coffee that too without milk and sugar or regular tea with ginger, milk etc.
This I say not to degrade all the women. But the same women when become a mother behave in one way but when she is a wife behave in different way. Of course we cannot generalize all the wives, but as I have observed several such incidents and as that husband came and lamented in my dream I wrote this song to console him.

487Non-existing defeat
There is no defeat
Even in our life
I never accept
Anything as a defeat
When we refuse to
Accept the success
Automatically
Defeat will came and stand before
When we become
Afraid of it
It will make us to belief
That it is real
Taking courage
When we oppose it
It will run back
By keeping its tail in between the legs
Chasing it when
We change it
It will show the way for success
Guiding us from the front
Through the lesson
Which we learnt from defeat
When we again strive
Success will come automatically
Mathigiri, 6-12-2018, 10. 15 p.m.
Every defeat is only a guru to teach the secret for success. Once we realize this, then there is no concept of defeat in life.

488Should keep away
You should
Learn to live peacefully
You should stop
Hurrying like this
Once you came
To the edge of the life
You should stop
Carrying burden
Once you know
That you cannot do it
Not think that
Let us try it
Realizing the
Condition of the old age
You should learn
To keep patience
Giving room
For the young generation to take responsibility
You should
Give space them by standing away
You should give up
The thought that
None is there
To do well like me
Not pocking your
Nose often
In order to show
That you know more
You should understand
The irritation
Which others
Get because of that
So far we have done
What we managed to do
Now let us give space
For others to accomplish
Only one
Come and seeks
Then let us give
Advice to them
Thinking about the peace
Which comes because of this?
Let us say thanks
By folding both our hands
Mathigiri, 8-12-2018, 1.50 p.m.
One of the old age scenarios is the thought that others cannot do the work properly as they used to do. Even if they give the responsibility to them (with some hesitation) when they are doing the work, often they will come and interfere by seeing whether the things are going as per the ideal? Before completing a part of the work, they will shout at them not to do like this etc. The next generation may have their better ideas and means to do the same work in a different way. But not knowing about it, thinking that only the old ideas and means alone will work well, we old age people won’t wait till the work is done. Of course this we faced when we were young from our seniors and the present youths will do the same to their next generation. Once we give the responsibility, let us close our eyes and ears allowing the next generation to do the work. There is no other option other than this if we want to have peace both for us and others.

489 pity Indeed
What a man
Can do in this?
If he is beaten
On both sides
Mother says that
His wife is not correct
His wife says that
He was not properly brought up
Mother sayt that
his wife is not correct
His wife says
He was not properly broughtup
Wife says that
He cannot take self decision
Mother says that
He only listens others (which means wife)
He become like a
Dolak (pakavaj)
Beaten on both sides
Will become mad
However he tries
To escape
Till the end
He has to play this kabadi match
When his mother
Attacks him by
Saying that
He listens to only his wife
Wife retaliate by
Saying that
His mother tries to
Control him as done to his father
On the one side
The mother who was also a wife
On the other side
The wife who became a mother
Seeing this
His father is laughing
And telling to his son
Do you understand now?
Caught between
Mother and wife
The poor boy
Is shedding tears
Whatever might one say?
Man also indeed pitiable
But there is no woman
Who is ready to accept this?
Though I have
Escaped from this ordeal
I don’t have
Solution for this tussle
Mathigiri, 16-12-18, 11.30 p.m.
Recently I witness what it means by caught between rock and hard place. Wife standing on the upper staircase mother standing in the down steps shouting at each other, the poor son cum husband sat paralyzed keeping his hands on his head. Like our TV debate both the ladies were not listening to each other but shouting towards the poor man. It is interesting to know the context. When the marriage was arranged, the girl demanded a car from his father. But the boy’s mother objected it by saying that first finish the marriage, later when money is available the car can come. But pestered by the girl, her father booked the car but unable to pay the balance. So after the marriage, when the boy received notice from the show room to pay the balance and take the car, his wife suggested to pledge her jewels to take the car. But his mother objected to it by saying that others will only blame her, asked her son to pledge her jewels and get the money. Finally he listened to his mother’s advice and brought the car. Then it becomes the bone of contention. When they took the car often, mother become irritated by saying, why waste much petrol when you have two two-wheeler (he has already has one motorcycle and scooter). But the wife said once the car came she cannot go on the two wheeler.
When it becomes a serious issue and there came lot of tension, finally when it become an issue between husband and wife, the wife told me, ‘he is a good boy but he cannot take personal decision’. But I cannot understand one thing: listening to his wife’s decision alone means taking personal decision? After several rounds of fight and argument finally in the climax when both the mother and wife shouting at the boy keeping him in between them, I watched it silently unable to do anything but writing this poem.
Are any feminist listening!

490I too like to sleep
I too have a desire
To sleep a bit extra (in a cold morning)
But due to my responsibilities
There is no place for it in my life
Whenever I go to sleep last night
I need to get up early in the morning
Before the milk man goes
I have to get the milk from him
Once the sleep is gone
After have a cup of tea
In order to see rest of the work
I have to go to the kitchen
Raising the (grand) children from bed
Dressing them up in a hurry
And pushing some food in their mouth
I have to send them to the school
To my husband who gets up leisurely
When he come and asks
I have to give coffee to him
And send him for bathing (even arranging hot water for him)
I have to cook breakfast
And also lunch and dinner
After taking bath I have to
Wash cloths and dry them
After giving food in time to those
Who are living with us (my mother-in-law)
If there is any leftover food
I have to swallow them
After clearing the kitchen
And washing the dishes
When I sit bit leisurely
The next work will come in time
Not minding the disturbance
When the phone rings in between
I have to attend the calls
And should go to do other works
When the neighbors
Come to talk with me
Definitely I should
Gossip with them
I should silently see
All the atrocities of my daughter-in-law
(History repeats here)
I should also listen to all the
Murmurs of my mother-in- with much pain in my ear
Once the (grand) children
Return back from school
I have to sit and
Do the home works along with them
Somehow as the
Day has gone
I need to watch in the evening
Without fail all the TV serials
Whenever they come and stand
Not minding the time
To those who return from
Their jobs (this is daughter-in-law)
Heating the cooked food
I should fill their stomach
Added to this
I also need to prepare some special snakes to them
When I try to take bit rest
After I became tired
As my mother-in-law calls
Immediately I should rush to attend her
As the day is gone like this
How can I go and sleep for sometime
If I tell this to others
They will say that I am going over board
They will say that: ‘You are fortunate as
You can stay in the home without need to do any work
Only you need to cook and
Enjoy good food (for yourself) and sleep
If they work like me
Even staying one day in the home
Then they will
Realize about my condition
Working like this all through life
Without receiving any remuneration for that
Only receiving rebukes and scolding
Alone became by salary
Finally in the end
Until Yama come and takes me back
There is no chance for me
To sleep bit extra in life
Mathigiri, 5-1-2019,9.00 a.m.
Cold has increased since last few days. Though this morning as usual I got up, then I saw the time. It was only 5.55. Then I thought let me lay down for another five minutes. But as the milk will come, unable to sleep I got up and began to do the regular kitchen works. That time I said to me, ‘I too long to sleep some more time’. Then stepping the shoe of a woman who toils day and night, I wrote this song. When I wrote this I recalled another such song from theWest. East or West, women have the same work everywhere.
She cooked the breakfast first of all,
Washed the cups and plates,
Dressed the children and made sure
Stockings all were mates.
Combed their heads and made their beds.
Sent them out to play
Gathered up their motley toys,
Put some books away,
Dusted chairs and mopped the stairs,
Ironed an hour or two
Baked a jar of cookies and
A pie, then made a stew
The telephone rang constantly,
The doorbell did the same,
A youngster fell and stubbed his toe,
And then the laundry came
She picked up blocks and mended socks,
Then she polished up the stove
(Gypsy folks were fortunate
with carefree ways to rove!)
And when her husband came at six
He said: ‘I envy you!
It must be nice to sit at home
Without a thing to do!
(Mothers) work on our behalf is never done.—Prev, un-known author about mothers in Good News Broadcaster, in 1985.

491Secret of life
After observing
The life of so many people
After living
In so many ways
Finally I
Clearly understood that
This is the
Truth in life
Though my heart
Knows well that
Nothing remains
Permanent in life
Still I cannot
Understand the secret
The way we run
Behind them
This is what
Our ancestors also told us
They have recorded them
Both in writings and songs
But some how
They fail to
Proclaim this
Secret to us
Did they refuse?
To proclaim it to us
Thinking that
As we cannot understand it
Or they keep silent
Thinking that
There is no
Use in saying it
As their seniors
Also have done
The same
To them
Not knowing
That secret
Did they ask?
Us to search for it
Unable to proclaim
That secret
Which is?
Not even there
Did they showed
The way for
Each one to learn
By their own experience
Whichever answer?
One might receive
Whoever might?
Come and say that
When we continue to live
Not ready to receive it
That secret which
Even I don’t know
As there is
No means to share further about it
I too live
As usual before
Mathigiri, 5-1-2019,10.30 p.m.
The secret in life is that though we know that nothing remains permanently, still the way we run after so many things still remains a mystery in life. Though we all know the secret behind it, still we cannot share it with others as each one has to learn it by their own experience.

492Better to lose
When we don’t
Have anything
To claim as
Our own
There is no
Need for us to lose
When we didn’t
Receive anything in the first place
When we think
All that we lost
Are merely
Given by others to us
When we realize this
Even if we lost anything
We won’t be
Worried about it
This body of ours
Is given by our parents
All our thinking
Are given by our relatives
The world has given
This our life
Our breath is
A gift from god
What we can
Claim as our own in this
As nothing
Belong to us
It is impossible
For anyone
Remaining till in the end
Not losing something in life
If we began to
Count all our loses
There is not
Enough number for that
Even if we
Began to think about our loses
In the end
We won’t get peace of mind
When we
Get the thought that
It is good one way
For us to lose something
Then slowly
We will began to realize
That there is some
Benefit even in lost
As we get deliverance
From the burden
Of all that
We have accumulated so far
Let us receive it
Only by losing it
Which we should
Never get lost in life
Mathigiri, 8-1-2019,10.10 p.m.
When I was doing my night walk, I began to think what are the things that went away from my life? As I began to think about it, another thought came that one way it is good that I lost so many things, which otherwise would have remained a burden in my life. Then as the inspiration came I wrote this song thinking about the blessing of losing in life.

493What to say?
What to say
To whom say
How to say
And which one to say
When we began
To say something
Not for our sake
But only for other’s sake alone
Not realizing that
To whom we are saying
When we began to say
Something to someone
The only thought
Comes and stand before us
How to
Say it?
Not knowing
Which one to say first
We will be
Bewildered
As there are
So many questions in sharing
When we take
Time to think about sharing
To the question
Why should we share?
Is to know that
To unload our burden
When we seek
The right kind of person
To whom when share
Our burden will be gone
Thinking properly
When we share
How to share
To that person
Whatever we share
Realizing our need
They too will help us
To unload our burden
Mathigiri, 8-1-2019,10.45 p.m.
As usual when my mother complained about the coffee (that I have gave her bit extra), I began to laugh. Because she has to give some comment on everything that I do. Then when I sat down with my coffee I said in Tamil that ‘what to say about such comments.’ She has the advantage to comment on everything as I am listening to them without any reacting (there is no point in confronting any women when they comment on anything that men do). Actually I said it in Tamil to me. Then keeping it as the title of this song, I wrote this song about sharing our thoughts and burden with others. I wish all know only Tamil. Because, it is very difficult to translate this song in any other language, particularly in English.

494 Whose is responsible
Can the sorrow be?
In my heart
Oh heart
Can you carry it unnecessarily?
Thinking which
You become get troubled
And who want you to
Come and remove it?
We should first
Understand that
We can change
The sorrow as joy
When too much joy
Become bit excess
Sorrow is only
The alternative to it
When we realized this
Through our experience
We can also understand
That pain also become joy
When we think that
This is real sorrow
Better you think
A bit about it
Once we remove
The negative thoughts
You will understand
The reality about it
Joy or sorrow is
Not in our acts
Our body is not
The stage for that
Once we change
The thought in our heart
Its nature never
Remains permanent
Once we
Understand this truth
What is the use of?
Carrying the sorrow, you tell that
Even after telling
This much clearly
If you carry it unnecessarily
Who is responsible for that?
Mathigiri, 17-1-2019, 11.30 p.m.
Both pleasure and pain are our own creation. Neither the work nor the body is the reason for them. Mind is the reason for them. Once we understand this, we won’t be troubled by the pain and pleasure which remains antidote for each other.

495We should manage on our own
Whatever it might be
I should manage it on my own
This is also
Good for me
Why should I
Trouble others
And why others
Should suffer because of me
The world is
Going in a rush
And each one’s life
Becomes a burden for them
Even if they want to
Help others
Where is the
Time for that
When the burden
Of the family is on one side
Others also
Give lots of pressure to them
Not having time
For them to live for them
And not having any
Means to live for others
As their condition is
Like the sugarcane in between the crushing wheel
How can we seek?
Their help
Taking the
Sugarcane juice
And boiling it
To prepare the jaggery
Giving sweetness
To many tongues
Is the condition of many people?
Like that of sugarcane
As much as possible
Not becoming a burden to others
In order to
Spend the rest of my life
Whatever it might be
We should manage on our own
And we should carry our burden
As much as possible
Mathigiri, 20-1-2019, 11.30, p.m.
Single people are far better than the family people. When I observe the plight of the family people, I would prefer not to give trouble to them by seeking unnecessary help which I can manage on my own. The patience of the family people is beyond the comprehension of any single people as they never experience of the stress which a family person carries.
Jajali was an ascetic. When a pair of birds built a nest in his matted hair, and the mother bird even laid an egg, he remained standing in meditation, stirring only after the egg hatched and the fledgling took off, and only went to bathe in the ocean thereafter, proclaiming himself (p.363) the greatest ascetic. Thereupon he was directed by a voice to one more virtuous than himself, who turned out to be an ordinary businessman engaged ostensibly in worldly pursuits called Tuladhara, who led the life of a householder (see George M. Williams Handbook of Hindu Mythology [New York: Oxford University Press, 2003] p. 160).— Arvind Sharma, The Ruler’s Gaze: A study of British Rule over India from a Saidian Perspective, Noida, HarperCollins Publishers, 2017 notes 66, pp. 363-64

Then I try

Finally seeking
Your mercy
I asked you
Show me away
But if you
Remain adamant
Not even listening this also
Then what can I do
Even the god
Who created you?
Also is not

So what is the

Even he does not

Therefore I go

Gandhian idealism
Mahatma Gandhiji is my ‘mansik guru’. I admire him with much reverence. According to me no other Indian can stand near to him. Compared to his life, rest of the life in India (may be everywhere in the globe) is nothing but a dwarf before him. Of course he too has his own limitations and shortcomings. But as Bakshi rightly said, ‘Formal history, … had done Gandhi an (p.14) injustice. It lauded him for choosing to live in poverty. This entirely missed the essence of Gandhi’s striving. For one, Gandhi’s lifestyle decisions were small manifestations of a deep inner journey. They were not strategic moves aimed at any external audience. He liked the mud house because, for him, it was synonymous with indigenous creativity, not poverty and squalor. The Kuti’s {hut’s} comfort and ambience are living proof to this.’(Italics original)—Rajni Bakshi, Bapu Kuti: Journeys in Rediscovery of Gandhi, New Delhi, Penguin Books, 1998, pp. 14-15.
At the back side cover of this book it is written:
Bapu Kuti, at Sewagram Ashram, Wardha, is the mud hut which was Mahatma Gandhi’s last home. Half a century after Bapu was killed, the Kuti is alive with gatherings of people who share his dreams. They do not call themselves ‘Gandhians’. Yet, as they search for solutions to the many problems of modern India, these activists find themselves coming to the same conclusions as had Gandhi.
In this collection, Rajni Bakshhi explores the world and lives of twelve such people who have turned their backs on lucrative professions to embark on a search for practical and humane ways of political and social transformation, rooted in the faith that a new India with prosperity for all can be built on the strengths of cooperation and community. In Rajasthan, for instance, through a rare community effort, villagers make a creative livelihood instead of migrating to urban slums; in Andhra, impoverished weavers gain new life by reviving their dying craft; in Bhagalpur, Bihar, a movement is launched to ‘liberate’ mother Ganga.
These images of passionate creativity present an India seldom seen in the mainstream media. They challenge the pervasive cynicism of our time to show that idealism did not die with Gandhi. Affirming humanity’s ceaseless striving to evolve to higher levels of being, they anticipate an age when conciliation must replace confrontation for building a more just future. (Italics original)
So when I started to read this book, I received the following interesting message sent by one of my friends:
I thought you’d be interested in this article.
Gandhi’s image and influence are much stronger abroad than in India. Socially, you never see a photo of Gandhi in dalit areas, only Ambedkar. Economically, India has followed Nehru’s vision, not Gandhi’s. Politically, he is put on a pedestal, used, and then ignored. With a unified India, the subcontinent would have avoided debilitating wars, much suffering, and become a world power.
God bless.
Dr. HH
From The New York Times:
In India, Gandhi’s Halo Glows Less Brightly for Hindu Right and Lower Castes
While Gandhi’s global influence is still enormous, in contemporary India he is no longer so awe-inspiring and his legacy is subject to criticism from across the political spectrum.
As I continue to read the book by Bakshi I recalled the above message from the New York Times. I haven’t read this article so far. I have yet to complete my reading of Bapu Kuti. But after reading few more pages, I began to reflect on this topic.
There is some truth in the message sent both my friend and The New York Times. I recently heard in TV news, that only few hundred Indian shares wealth of rest of the average Indians. The rich become rich and poor become poor. Even in ‘the world and lives of twelve such people who have turned their backs on lucrative professions to embark on a search for practical and humane ways of political and social transformation, rooted in the faith that a new India with prosperity for all can be built on the strengths of cooperation and community,’ remain mere idealism, however one claims that, ‘They challenge the pervasive cynicism of our time to show that idealism did not die with Gandhi.’
The so called strengths of cooperation and community to bring prosperity for all works for only few to become relatively richer than the rest in the community. As I continue to meditate on this subject I got the inspiration and wrote this song.
According to me, including Gandhiji lived a life of inner journey which naturally brought such ‘strategic moves aimed at any external audience (p.15). All the slogans that we live for others look mere idealism or propaganda to parade the so called ‘sacrifice’ of such life to inspire and challenge others. In fact, I would say that even those twelve people who ‘turned their backs on lucrative profession’ could have done it without an ‘inner journey’ first.
This does not mean that I am criticising such ‘sacrifice’ on the part of those twelve or in the life of Mahatma. Yes for me I would call Gandhi only as ‘Mahatma’ as I am not even qualified to take his name on my lips. He is really a ‘great atman’ as Tagore rightly gave that title to him. All those, like these twelve who embarked ‘on a search for practical and humane way’ deserve our gratitude for keeping alive the idealism of Mahatma not allowing it die with him.
However for me, unless one first begins her ‘inner journey’ to live for the satisfaction of her atman, she can never work selflessly for others. As I often say we can never live ‘for’ others, but only ‘with’ them. Only when we live with others, then we get our identity of any kind beginning from an ordinary ‘human’ to become a ‘mahatma’.
Each one has to live her life first. In fact this is what we all are doing. When one lives such a life for her own soul’s satisfaction, she needs not to define and explain it to others. Of course when one first learn to live for her own ‘soul’s satisfaction, then such life (like that of Mahatma) naturally brings a ‘strategic moves aimed at any external audience’, not remaining mere idealism. But for that one should understand the secret of the life that each one first has to live her life for her first. Otherwise the entire claim that one does not live for her but only for others will become mere idealism.

498 Your own life
Stop giving explanation
After clear understanding
That this life which you live
Is your own life
Though you might give
Thousands of explanation
There is no need for
Others to understand it
Each one is living
Their own life
For this they
Join with others
Though they claim that
They are living for others
In that indeed
They life for them
You cannot live
Only for you
You cannot live
Only for others
Even if one wants
To live only for her
It is not possible
Without others’ help
When we live ‘with’ others
We too can live for us
We too can help
For others to live
But once we understand
The secret in it
Then understanding it
We all can live
Each one’s life
Belongs to her
It is better for
All to understand this
If we live accordingly
All can live
And in your life also
You can live for others
Mathigiri, 28-1-2019, 11.30 pm.
This is my continuous reflection on the previous song’s topic. No one can live only for herself. At the same time no one can claim that she is living only for others. The only reality in life is that we are living ‘with’ others while living our own lives. Only such understanding alone will help us to implement the golden principle ‘live and let live’.

Should I think that?
Live is indeed is very difficult one
Or should I say that
I don’t know how to live it?
Or knowing that
Both are real
Do I search for?

If there is no life
Without difficulties
Then there won’t be
Any taste in life
If we think that

There are some lives

When we live
With proper understanding
Then where is the place
To live without knowing

If we want to live
The life properly
There is no life
Without know how to live
When we understand

I watched a program (Sun T.V. 3-2-2019, 9.30 to 10.30 p.m. Today’s hero) in which disabled people with self respect and confidence stand on their own leg and challenge ordinary people. There is no point in saying that one does not know how to live. Converting that hardship into opportunity they show to the rest of able bodied person who laments that he does not know how to live. As I was reflecting about their life I wrote this song—dedicating to them. (Mavula started by Sri. Muhammad Gadhafi, who helps several physically, challenged people to lead a respectful and meaningful life)
