Secular Songs 526 to 530

Secular Song 526

After my regular reading, when I sat for meditation, my mind asked me to write a song.  At the same time my heart said, ‘no’.  Of course, for me both mind and heart are one and the same.  Finally, as usual the mind won and the result is this song.  Of course, it also refuses to accept this as the final answer and may force me to write more songs.  Indeed, the heart feels the pain and has to struggle always to live with this mind.

Secular Song 526

Secular Song 526 No need any more

On the one side

My mind says to write

On the other side

My heart says: NO

My situation

Became like the ant

That is caught

In between two side fires

The heart/mind says that

How better it will be

If there is

No heart/mind at all

It realizes the

Struggles that it undergoes

It also struggles

Without any deliverance

There is no point

In blaming the heart/mind

The only mistake is

To take birth as human

Added to that

He also committed sin

By learning to

Read and write

Like the beggar

That spoiled the sleep

By blowing the

Conch Shell

Not minding the

Business of survival

whose mistake

Is ask to think

There is no point

In blaming god

He is not

Responsible for it

Once created us

And put us on this earth

His business

Came to an end

Beginning from the questions:

Why he created

Who created it?

And how he created

As all these kinds of

Questions were asked

The trouble began from there

To the humans

Therefore, if we

Stopped asking questions

There is no need

To search for answers to these questions

Once if we accept

This as the final answer

Then there is no need

To write further (like this)

Secular Song 528

My nephew’s wife Preeti recorded an old Tamil song (which I give at the end) by her son Chittu who completed his second year and sent it to me to show it to my mother.  After listening to it I wrote this song as I was pestering my nephew to plan a sister for Chittu and sent this to Preeti. The good news is that Chittu will get his sister within seven or eight months.  So we are not going to inform Modi to take action against Preeti and her husband to freeze their adhar card.  But the tragedy is that it was another boy and poor Chittu often receives beating from his brother now as he always fights with him to possess the same thing that Chittu has.  The regular sibling rivalry.

Secular Song 527

Secular Song 527 I need a sister

Oh my mother, come here

And give me my sister

It is highly boring

To remain alone (as a single child)

It is right time for my sister to come

I also told this to my father

And he also gave his consent

Next year this time

My sister should be here

No more excuses

I don’t need a brother who will fight with me

I need a loving sister alone

And you too should agree what I say

Otherwise, I will complain about this

To my grandmother

And there will come, unnecessary quarrel in the home

And your mother-in-law might scold you

More than this

Chittu also will pester you and will cry

Therefore, listen to what I say

When I ask with much love better give

Otherwise from today onwards

I will start my hunger strike

More than that I might even

Complain this to Modi the grand father

Then it will lead to freezing

Your Smart and aadhar cards

Secular Song 528

After watching a Documentary “Undercover with the Clerics-Iraq’s Secret Sex Trade”  (in B.B.C, 24-11-2019) by  Mut’ah’s this night (https://youtu.be/Ejlq53lPj54)) I was much disturbed as young girl even below 12 years old are sexually exploited by many.  The greatest tragedy in this is that a ‘marriage for pleasure’ for a few hours was conducted by the Islamic clergy to give religious sanction. When the person who was documenting it challenged it by saying that this is mere prostitution, the clergy said ‘no’ as god himself has sanctioned such ‘pleasure marriages’.  According to the document such marriages are illegal in Iraq but no government officials are taking action against such brutal atrocities against young girls. One girl who spoke in the interview told that if her family members found that she lost her virginity they would kill her as one of her cousins was killed by her family members who lost her virginity because of such ‘pleasure marriage’.   When I was about to go to bed, then I told ‘what kind of life is this for such people who live in such countries which are ravaged by terrorism and other activities which deprived the normal life for so many people’.  Then I wrote this song reflecting such life on this earth and went to bed with much depression and a heavy heart.

Of course in most of the religions clergies, priests and the so called spiritual heads always involve in such sexual violence against women, particularly against minor girls. But no religion will allow it in the name of god.  I think the way the Shia clergy claims that even god allows it is not correct and Islam or Sharia too won’t allow such practices.  Next day when I asked about this, one person, who is involved in social activities said that these kinds of documents were fake, created by Western media propaganda to defame Islamic countries to take vengeance against them.  What to believe about the document which was made or the statement by such social activities?

Secular song 528

Secular Song 528 How many troubles

Creating humans and

Giving all kind of troubles

If he is asked to live

What can he do?

How many troubles

How many trials

Which one to say and

Which one to leave

Beginning from the womb

And till he reaches the grave

All the troubles he encounters

Are there few to count them?

All the pleasures

Which he enjoys (in between womb and grave)

Will disappear

Like the mirage

But his everyday life

Becomes like

The deer which

Chases the mirage

Like the deer

That fell and died

Thinking that

One day it will reach the mirage

Running each day

And dying each day

Again, getting up

He runs continuously

He does not listen

To anyone who advised him

And all those who advised him

Never stopped their race also

As long as

The mirage is there

There is no hope

To stop the running also

Secular Song 529

For me life is caught in the whirlpool and there is no way to escape from toil till the end of my life.  We were born to toil.  Therefore, without murmuring or imagining some utopian life with rest and relaxation, we need to toil till we escape the life in death. As I become tired physically, contemplating this kind of life, I wrote this song.   When I reflect on my life, rarely do I get any opportunity to take complete rest to relax.  There is always both physical and mental activity.  Like a small log which is caught in the whirlpool, we cannot escape on our own.  When the whirlpool disappears, there might come another opportunity to reach the shore.  Otherwise, it will be carried on in the water current continuously.

Secular Song 529

Secular song 529  You have to live your life

The body is longing

Expecting retirement

And my heart also

Gave consent to it

But the life

Refuses to sanction it

Therefore, our condition

Becomes wretched one

Seeing that

The heart rebukes the life

It says that

‘My life is my own’

Listening that

The body also rejoiced

Seeing that

The life was laughing loudly

‘Before you come to live

Where were you?

Once you came

Did you actually live your life?

Though you claim that

“My life is my own”

Did you ever

Hold it in your hand?

I don’t have any

Right on my own hand

But you cannot live

Overcoming me

I don’t have

Separate identity of my own

But without me

You also don’t have your identity

Oh body

Your condition is more wretched one

Without the heart

You are nothing but mere bundle of flesh and bone

You have to dance

According to the tune of your heart

Therefore, you never have

Real freedom in life

Like a small stick

That gets trapped in whirlpool

You too will go round and round

In the water

When the current in the water

Becomes less

As the whirlpool disappears

You will go along with the water

Before you get trapped

In the next whirlpool

If you are lucky

You will reach the shore

Until that time

Other than get trapped in the whirlpool

You don’t have means to escape

Better you remember this

Until you reach

The shore

There is no point of

Talking about retirement

Therefore, shutting your mouth

Mind your own business

As you came on this earth

Live the life for which you came

Secular Song 530

Another fight between me and my mind.  If it stops thinking how it will do good for all, at least to me?

Secular Song 530

Secular Song 530 Good for all

It is good for you

If you don’t think (too much)

It is good for me

If I don’t write much

But it become

More dangerous

As we both

Refuse to listen to anyone

But my condition

Is worse than yours

I don’t have the freedom

That you have, better you understand this

You can think

Whatever you want

You can talk

Without anyone listening you

You need not give

Any explanation

How much contradiction

Might be there in your talk

You can think

Anything without having any connection

You can also change it

As you like at any time

There is none

To question you

Even if you are questioned

There no need for you to answer

But when I began to write

Because of your pressure

How many limitations

That I have

Whatever I want to say

I should share with clarity

If I babble without any connection

Then I should give explanation

Added to that

I should be within the topic

More than that

I should follow the grammar of poetry

Why should I write?

With so many restrictions

You alone should

Help me in this

If you stop your

Thinking process

There is no need for me

Also to write, this you should understand

This alone will do

Good for both of us

This also can stop

Problem to others

As so many blessings

Are there for everyone

Why should you

Continue to think?
