Secular Songs 566 to 570

Secular Song 566

Another song reflecting the kind of life which I enjoyed before the INVASION of Internet and Website in my life.  Though we get so much important information, still the way they ask us to subscribe to their channel irritates me.   Everybody wants to become teachers but no one wants to learn that too properly.

Secular Song 566

Secular Song 566 should live in silence

Talking unnecessarily

Not wasting the words in vain

We should live

By keeping silence

Realizing the greatness

Of silence in the heart

We should spend time

In silence

How many noises

How many voices

How many news

How many views

As all of them join together

Began to attack us

How to receive

Peace in life

How peacefully

Went our life [in the past]

When all these were

Not in our lives

Once the internet

Came in this world

It made everyone

To shout together

As all are shouting

We cannot hear anyone’s voice

As all are talking together

Nobody can understand [anything]

There is no point

In blaming them

As all want to teach

There is none to learn [from them]

In deed Valluvar

Said correctly that

Listening is the

Greatest wealth

But the wealth that

He is talking, not this?

There is no use

In talking further about it

Interest should come

To know more

Then we should

Search for proper teacher

Once we

Received him/her

We should learn

From him/her

Leaving this

Everyone became a teacher

Then each one

Is hunting students for them

In this competition

They are shouting together

And to catch the students

They spread the [inter]net

Those who didn’t

Catch in this net

Alone know

This peace indeed

They will experience

That peace in their life

After experiencing it

They will continue to live in it

Secular Song 567

Another song highlighting the importance of lamenting in life. It is the only best antidote to face all kinds of stress and challenges in life.  Though counselling would help, nothing can replace lamentation.

Secular Song 567

Secular Song 567 It is good to lament

There is no use in living

Not knowing how to live

There is no use in worrying

Once we have fallen

But life won’t

End with this

As there is a life

Even beyond this

Till the last day

When the life will dwell in the body

We have to live with this

There is no alternative to it

When the time

Has come to lament

It is good for the heart

To lament

Then the peace

That will come in life

Will give

Clear guidance

It will give

New courage in the heart

To face whatever might

Be the struggle that might come

As the body

Will cooperate

It will determine

To live rest of the life courageously

Secular Song 568

…As poems my Evening Songs may not have been worth much, in fact as such they are crude enough.  Neither their metre, nor language, nor thought had taken definite shape.  Their only merit is that for the first time I had come to write what I really meant, just according to my pleasure.  Even if those compositions have no value, that pleasure certainly had. —Rabindranath Tagore, My Reminiscences, London, Macmillan, Reprint, October , 1917, p. 203

When I read these words of Tagore I was very much encouraged.  As I most of the time say, I write only for my needs.  Of course, I share if it would help some to know about my views.  Though none is going to be benefited by my writings, as Tagore said, the pleasure of writing will always remain with me.

Secular Song 568

Secular Song 568 We should live for us

When the thought

Comes in our mind

That why should

We live this life

We should live

For us also

This thought

Should also come in our mind

I will say that one way

This is a liberation

I know that

There is a need for this

Even renouncing

Oneself is

One way selfishness

This also I will say

When we cannot

Live our life for us

We also cannot

Live for others

Living oneself

Is not selfishness

Living for others

Is also not sacrifice

We came to this

World only to live

Then we should live it

With others

When we can live

With others

Then alone this is possible

This we should also realize

When one cannot

Live for oneself

How one can understand

Others’ need

At least one should

Live for this

Then should help others

Knowing their need

We should not

Live only for us

We cannot live

Only for others

But telling that

We are living

Only for others

Is never possible

Secular Song 569

As I was reading the following point from Tagore’s I was very impressed by the way he expressed the purpose of writing poems.  Agreeing with him I wrote this song to express my view on writing poem:

But does one write poetry to explain any matter?  What is felt within the heart tries to find outside shape as a poem. So when, after listening to a poem, any one says he has not understood, I feel nonplussed. If someone smells a flower and says he does not understand, the reply to him is: there is nothing to understand, it is only a scent.  If he persists, saying: that I know, but what does it all mean?  Then one has either to change the subject, or make it more abstruse by saying that the scent is the shape which the universal joy takes in the flower.

This utterance of feeling is not the statement of a fundamental truth, or a scientific fact, or a useful moral precept. Like a tear or a smile it is but a picture of what is taking place within….—Rabindranath Tagore, My Reminiscences, London, Macmillan, Reprint, October , 1917, p. 222

Secular Song 569

Secular Song 569 Needs no explanation

Once we put the

Feelings of heart in words

There is no need for

Any separate explanation for that

If the question Is asked:

Why one should write poems

I don’t have

Any answer for that

I tried to put in words

My thoughts

Which is beyond my understanding

In order to understand them

But I realized that

There is no use

Even writing them

As poems

Some kind of instinct

From within

Pushes words

In the brain

As tune also

Accompany them

Automatically

Poems come

The initial thought

Will blossoms like

Bud and automatically

Becomes a flower

Then becoming a

Small fruit and matured after that

Becomes a fruit

Will fall on the hand

Only when

We taste it

Then alone we will

Realize its sweetness

Not doing that

How is it possible

To explain its taste

In any words

Therefore unless

We Experience it

How we can understand

Its greatness

Giving up all kinds of

Research about it

One should enjoy the poems

That she has written

Secular Song 570

Though we live with others and for others still each one of us has to live her own life.  Living expecting others to observe or appreciate or criticise our life is almost impossible as each one has her own role to play in her drama.  So let us do our best each day not minding others’ comments of any kind.

Secular Song 570

Secular Song 570 Let us continue to act

Each day in our life

One drama is

Enacted even

Without our knowledge

But we don’t

Have time

Sit and watch it

In a relaxed manner

Though the

Story, direction

And act is

Done only by us

There is

No one in the audience

To sit and

Watch our act

Therefore, however

Drama was

Performed

Well by us

Who will

Understand its greatness

When there is

No fans to watch it

But there

Is no need

For us now

To think about it

There is no

Time to get ready

To shoot

The next episode

Therefore as

There is no alternative

Let us continue

To act as much as possible [the present episode]

Not thinking

Much about anything

Let us try to

Live and complete our life.
