Secular Song 572
Haste is Waste in every act. In the name of discipline if we rebuke others unnecessarily only keeping our interest then it will damage the relationship. At the same time in the name of patience if we tolerate indiscipline then it will bring more trouble to all. Keeping a balance in between is the art of life. But in anything we should avoid haste.

ஆத்திரப் பட்டு அவசரப் பட்டு
செய்திடும் எந்த காரியம் ஆயினும்
தந்திடும் பாதிப்பு தனக்கும் பிறர்க்கும்

நீடித்த பொறுமைக்கும் எல்லை உண்டு
நிச்சயம் அதற்கொரு வரையறை உண்டு

காரியம் செய்வதில் பயனும் உண்டு

அடைவது பற்றி கேள்வியும் உண்டு
சுயத்தேவை மட்டும் மனதிலே கொண்டு
செயல்பட நினைப்பது நிச்சயம் தவறு
பிறர் தேவை தன்னை எண்ணிடும் போது
சமநிலை தன்போல் வருவதும் உண்டு
சுயத்தேவை பிறர் தேவை இரண்டுக்கும் நடுவிலே
பலவிதப் போராட்டம் இருப்பதும் உண்டு
சுயத்தேவை தன்னை முற்றாக துறக்க
பிறர் தேவை நிறைவேற்ற முடியாது நம்பு
தன் போல் பிறரையும் நேசிக்கும் போது
பிறருக்காக நாம் வாழ பெலனும் கிடைக்கும்
தன் காலில் தான் நிற்க முடிந்தால் மட்டும்
நம் தோளில் பிறரை சுமந்திட முடியும்
தனித்து வாழ்வது வாழ்க்கையே இல்லை
பிறருக்காக வாழ்வது முற்றிலும் மாயை

Secular Song 572 Haste is Waste
Anything done in haste
Will bring damage
To oneself and others
About this we should thinking
But long endurance is impossible
There is a limitation for that also
The delay that we take
In the name of patience might bring further troubles
Finding a balance in between them
If we act, there will be profit in it
But what is that balance
Is a million dollar question
It is indeed wrong doing things
Only keeping our personal interest
When we think about others need
That balance might come on its own
There might be several struggles
In between self interest and others need
But we cannot fulfil others need
At the cost of our own need, believe this
When we love as others as oneself
We will get strength to live for others
When we manage to stand on our own legs
Then alone we can carry others on our shoulders
Living a lonely life is not life indeed
But living only for others is completely an illusion
But the balance is in when we live
For living WITH others and also for us

Life is full of contradictions. Merely asking some question about the contradiction won’t solve the problem. Sometimes it is better to live with contradiction as that is not only part of life but several times remain the nature of life.

வேண்டாத கேள்வியும்
விரும்பாத பதிலும்
ஒன்றாக சேர்ந்து
வந்திடும் போது
கேள்விக்கு விடையை
தேடியே போகவா
பதிலுக்கு பதில்

வாழ்வில் வரும்போது
எளிதாகக் கடந்திட

To remove all the contradictions
Somehow if we
Mange to understand
The contradictions
And move ahead
The consequences
Of that choice
Might come often
And give lots of troubles
If we are afraid of it
And bewildered by it
Then we couldn’t
Proceed further in life
Therefore by
Giving up asking
Unnecessary questions
And if we accept the life as it comes
There is no need
For answer to any question
Even if we ask questions
There won’t be any answer to them

Secular Song 574
Being a boss is a lonely thing. This is not only applicable to any leader but also anyone who accepts some responsibility anywhere—be it big or small. Before we do, no one will give proper suggestions or come forward to help. But once we accomplish our best, finding lots of fault in it, will ask so many unnecessary questions. This might further irritate us. But there is no use arguing with them or trying to give a proper response. Better keep quiet and do your best.

Those who question us
Will ask very easily
When we give the answer
They will become upset
They will forget that
If unnecessary questions
are asked, the same kind of
Answers will come
They will argue
Not realizing
All our troubles
And pains that we under go
Though we try to
Help them to understand
Our situation, they will
Continue to ask similar questions
Either we should
Keep away realizing that
There is no means
To help them to understand
And we should
Keep away from them
Or we should give
Proper response
But there is no use
In both of them
As it will increase
The pain further
By adding insult
To the injury
They will plug the arrow
And give back to us
As long such people
Exists on earth
Many like us
Would suffer

Learning a lesson

To remove others’ pain

Secular Song 575
I don’t know the reason why I even wrote this poem. From the morning the first four lines of this poem were echoing in my mind continuously and even when I was busy with other works. So, before my morning meal, as inspiration came, I wrote this song and shared it with few. And one person in her response asked: Vazhkai kanakku is nice. Add and subtract (or multiply and divide) at the same time—can you please elaborate. And in response I wrote:
Adding and subtracting is: income and expenses. Dividing while multiplication is savings and protection. This is applicable in all the areas of life like, education, learning, wealth, health, relationship, bhakti etc. But the end result will remain the same for all. However, it depends upon everyone’s need and talent to put the number on the right or left side of the result. If you put on the right side you belong to the right wing, and left wing if you put on the left side.
கூட்டும்போதே கழிப்பது: வரவு செலவு, பெருக்கும்போதே வகுப்பது : யோகக்ஷேமம் (சேமிப்பு-பாதுகாப்பு). இது கல்வி, கேள்வி, செல்வம், உறவு, ஆரோக்யம், பக்தி என வாழ்வின் அனைத்திற்கும் பொருந்தும். ஆனால் இறுதி விடை அனைவர்க்கும் ஒன்றாக இருக்கும். வந்த விடைக்கு வலது, இடது புறமாக இலக்கத்தை போட்டுக் கொள்வது அவரவர் தேவை மற்றும் திறமையைப் பெருத்தது. வலது பக்கம் போட்டால் வலது சாரி, இடது பக்கம் போட்டால் இடது சாரி.

Arithmetic of life
Those who lived
Came and told me that
They know
The correct answer
When you add [or before add]
You have to subtract
When you multiply [or before that]

We have to
Do the life’s arithmetic
Completely in a
Different manner
Once they
Told like this
After I have
Done the same
When I saw the
Result that came
I went again
And asked them:
