Secular Song 621
The way our minds are being trapped by others through various forms of media is astonishing. Visual media, the internet, and AI only add more fuel to the fire. In the past, when we sought answers, we would turn to elders for advice and, trusting their wisdom, do our best to implement it. But now, asking for advice seems futile. Before accepting someone else’s answer, we must consider its truthfulness a thousand times. They may not intentionally mislead us, but caught in the same system, they are just like us—aware of the questions but unsure of how to respond. Therefore, it’s crucial to consider not only what the answer is but also who is giving it.
Secular Song 621 Who Gave the Answer
Who asked whom
How did they ask
Who gave whom
What kind of answer 1
These questions
Must be asked first
Only then should
The given answer be reviewed 2
Not all that’s asked
Is a question
When the purpose
Of asking is unknown 3
When there’s no clarity
On who asked
Why they asked
And how they asked 4
Therefore, no matter
Who gave the answer
We must find
The answer for all this 5
Without doing that
Blindly believing
And accepting the answer
Is not right 6
To impose one’s thoughts
On others
Asking questions randomly
Without order 7
When confused
Without an answer
Instead of that,
They impose their view 8
Not letting others
Think freely
They thoroughly
Brainwash them 9
There are those
Who try to propagate
Their ideology
Be wary of them 10
Examine their intent
Carefully
And then
Make your decision 11

Secular Song 622
The rapid deterioration of our values has become a stark reality. Might is not only becoming the truth, but all other ethical and moral values are gradually fading away, both in life and conscience. Those who try to uphold these values often become objects of mockery. In the past, a few brave individuals like Mahatma Gandhi took moral courage and fought against this decay. However, his time and circumstances favored him. If we try to do the same today, we would be immediately removed from the scene. Frustrated by witnessing what happens not only around the world but also in my own country, state, and even within myself, I often murmur, “This is the reality now in the world,” and I must live with it. I cannot even pray for change but must silently accept it and do my best to implement these values in my own life—not even asking others to do the same.
Secular Song 622 This is the World
This is the world
Accept it as such
Learn to live
Well within it 1
The strong will
Suppress the weak
The weak will be deceived
And face hardship 2
When wrong
Happens before your eyes
If you question it
You’ll be beaten away 3
What the powerful decide
Will become the path
Truth and honesty
Will become useless 4
Whatever cruelty
Anyone may do
You must endure
And move on 5
Justice, honesty,
And fairness
Will fade away
Like a mirage 6
What seems to be there
If you search for it
It will disappear
And vanish 7
Simplicity, patience,
Humility, and love
Will all become
A spectacle 8
You won’t be able
To trust anyone
Doubt will arise
In everyone 9
Positive thoughts
Will turn like yourself
Negative thoughts
Will grow even more 10
So, without living
Here any longer
It’s better
To leave soon 11
But until then
You have to live
And wait patiently
For that day to come 12

Secular Song 623
Refusing to accept defeat and striving to overcome struggles is a survival instinct for humanity. Though “survival of the fittest” is the prevailing rule, we still manage to survive, facing many challenges not only in our personal lives but also in society. However, only those who win make history and leave their mark. So, if you want to be part of history and create your own legacy in your circle, never accept defeat. Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, stand up and live.
Secular Song 623 Fight Well
How many struggles
Exist daily in this world
Yet, people keep fighting
And live on 1
When we think
The struggle is over
The end itself
Becomes another struggle 2
Therefore, life
Has never gone on
Without any form
Of struggle 3
So, getting used
To the struggle
Fighting it
Is of no use 4
Let what comes, come
With courage
Face it
And many have lived 5
Realizing that
Running and hiding
Is not an option
Many have also won 6
So, for any struggle
That may come
Face it with
Determination in your heart 7
And with those
Who have won
We too shall win
By fighting well 8

Secular Song 624
“Stop thinking to attain tranquility and inner peace” is a common formula given by many gurus and spiritual leaders. However, I still struggle to understand how to stop thinking as long as we have a mind that never allows us to rest. When one believes they have stopped thinking and attained tranquility, the moment they realize that experience, they might even break it. Although I also love the idea of stopping thought, I don’t know how to do it, and I find myself thinking of various ways and means to achieve it.
Secular Song 624 A Piece of Advice
‘Stop thinking,
Just let go,
Think and then
Let go of yourself.’ 1
This advice,
Many have given,
But I thought
More about it. 2
To let go of
The advice itself,
I went to those
Who think. 3
They said,
‘We’ll tell you
After we think,’
Giving me advice. 4
Realizing
It was useless
To ask them,
I asked God. 5
Without thinking,
I reflected on creation,
Thinking and thinking,
I became tired. 6
After He said this,
I thought some more
And did something
In the end. 7
I asked some people
Who said,
‘I’ve stopped thinking,’
How they did it. 8
They replied,
‘How we stopped thinking,
We can’t think
About it now.’ 9
So, they said,
‘We’ll think again,
And then we’ll tell you
About it later.’ 10
So many people
Gave advice,
And I wondered
What to do. 11
Then came an idea,
And I’m going
To do that
Right now. 12
If I succeed,
I’ll tell you
What it is
Afterward. 13
Even then,
I wondered
What time would bring
In the end. 14
Or else,
If it’s not like me,
You search
For a new idea. 15

Secular Song 625
Once we begin to celebrate even our struggles, we will no longer lament unnecessarily about the difficulties in life. Being single and living alone, instead of lamenting my struggles, I have often managed to overcome them by celebrating them. One Tamil writer [I think Balakumaran], in his novel Mercury Pookkal (Mercury Flowers), said, “If abuse is inevitable, then turn back and enjoy it.” [He used a different word, but I replaced it with ‘abuse’.]
Secular Song 625: Struggle and Celebration
There’s no time
To just lament or celebrate;
So do them both
Right now, together.
When lamenting
Becomes another form of celebration,
There’s no need
To separate them.
“Celebrate life,
And all struggles will disappear,”
Some people said,
Offering their advice.
“What is there
To celebrate now?”
I asked them
This question.
But now I celebrate
Even old age;
When I’m tired,
I’ll lament a little.
When I don’t have time
To do either,
How will I find
Time to celebrate separately?
When everyday life
Itself is a struggle,
What is there
To celebrate in it?
By celebrating the struggle
And struggling in celebration,
Somehow, life
Keeps moving on.
“Why another lament,
And why a song for this?”
Don’t ask me
This question.
Understand that
This too is a kind of celebration.
For struggle and celebration,
A song is essential.
This alone
Is my celebration now;
If you read this song,
It may become your struggle too.

Secular Song 621

Secular Song 622
