Song 53

When I thought of sending some of my poems for publication to some Tamil magazines, I remembered the way some people steal others’ thoughts, poems, and stories, by just changing a few words and names, and publish them in their own name. One such incident happened to me long back. As I remembered, I wrote this song.

என்னுடைய சில கவிதைகளையாவது தமிழ்ப் பத்திரிக்கைகளுக்கு அனுப்ப விரும்பினேன். ஆனால் பிறர் கதைகளையும், கவிதைகளையும் சற்று மாற்றித் தங்கள் பெயரில் வெளியிடும்சில நிகழ்ச்சிகள் (என் கதை ஒன்று பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு அப்படி ஆனது) நினைவுக்கு வரவே, இப்பாடலை எழுதினேன்.

53 திறனிருக்கு

சொந்தமாகக் கவிதை எழுதத்

திறனில்லாவிட்டாலும்

திறமை இருக்கு திருடுவதற்கு

பிறர் கருத்தை தனதாக்கி

சொல்லில் அதை வடித்து

உலா வருகின்றார் சில

‘புலவர்’  என்ற பெயராலே

53 Their talent!

Even if they don’t have

The talent to write on their own

They have the talent to steal

Other’s thought

And make it their own

By just changing some words

In the name of ‘poet’!
