Song 58

‘Publication is the Action of the Mind’, wrote Emily Dickinson.  She was right.  She never published her poems in her life time (except seven poems).  I too am not sending my poems (?) for publication, but not for the same reason.  This night after retired to bed when I thought about this, I wrote the following lines: (Lucknow?)   

58 ஏலமே

சிந்தையின் ஓட்டத்தை

சொல்லி வார்த்தெடுத்து

கருத்தை அதில் ஊட்டி

கவிதை வடித்த பின்பு

வெளியீடு செய்வதெல்லாம்

காசுக்காக கலையை

ஏலம் விடுவதே ஆகும்

58 Nothing but sales

Converting the thought

In words

In the name of poem

Adding meaning to it

Then publishing it

Is nothing but

Selling that art.
