The Defeat of Dynastic Politics

Thanks to Sonia and Rahul.

I celebrated the defeat of the ‘dynastic’ politics (also in Tamilnadu) by making sweets and distributing them to others.

I know many have reservations against Modi. But I strongly feel that the ‘internal’ democratic checks-and-balances within the BJP will never allow him to push his personal agenda. He is better than the ‘high command’ to which all Congressmen have to surrender without understanding the local situation and need. That alone deprived the Congress to represent around 20 states and union territories in the Parliament.

Thanks to Sonia for taking Mahatma Gandhi’s call to dissolve Congress both seriously and soberly. One non-Indian helped to find the Congress and another to put the last nail in the coffin. I hope Congress will resurrect in a new form from the ashes with proper leadership. It is a sad fact that the need for a strong Opposition in a healthy democracy is missing. But I hope the collective ‘Opposition’ will play that role, as the reduced status of Congress has deprived them of their role as the ‘main’ opposition. Thanks Rahul, keep the good work.

I wrote this on May 17^th, 2014.  Now the condition of Congress has gone from bad to worse.  It is in the ICU and God alone can save it.  But we need the Old Congress, pre-Sonia-Rahul one, to remain a strong opposition to challenge BJP. Hope God would resuscitate  Congress or will create an alternative to it.
